  1. Obviously we're on "autoedit." That's not what I typed, of course. I remember a few months ago we couldn't type "Pe$*@!ta Aramaic" or "$*@!ake mushrooms." George And apparently, we can't again!
  2. Hiway was correct, of course. Though most people remember Diana Rigg as Emma Peel, she was preceded by Honor Blackman as Catherine Gale in early B&W episodes. Diana was replaced by Linda Thorson as Tara King (my personal favorite) in the last season of the original Avengers. Joanna Lumley played Purdey in "The New Avengers" for two seasons in the mid-70's. All opposite the unflappable Patrick MacNee as John Steed. Honor Blackman was also, of course, wimp Galore in "Goldfinger." Diana Rigg was Tracy Di Vicenzo in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." The latter film was the only to star George Lazenby as Bond, and the only time Bond actually married. (Of course, "Tracy" had to die.) When "The Avengers" first aired in the States, I thought it was about the Marvel super-hero group. I was disappointed to find out otherwise, but I grew to enjoy the show immensely. The 1998 film was okay, but a bit of a disappointment. George
  3. What do these four women have in common? This should help: Listen only if you can't guess George P.S. What else did the first two have in common?
  4. I don't recognize Rick's song, but it sounds like Steely Dan (famous for the creepy "Rikki Don't Lose that Number"). Kathy's song is by the Byrds, though. George
  5. Sorry. I wasn't paying close enough attention. I thought Doojable got the clue, not Chas. (I didn't see Chas sneak in!) Chas is up, of course. George
  6. So, what we're saying is, Kathy stumped HERSELF? George Where's a "smack" smiley when you need one?
  7. Well, since Dooj got Flow's clue, and Raf got Dooj's, I guess we go with Raf's: "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause." I don't recognize it. George
  8. Well, I don't know the movie OR the TV show. But by posting this, I've put the Nostalgia Thread back on top! George
  9. Just thought I'd bring this back to the top. I still don't recognize teh movie, though. :( George
  10. Just for fun, you might check out the TV show "Supernatural." (But don't tell your Branch Coordinator!!) It'a about a couple of brothers who go around stopping demons and such, usually taken from old legends and folklore. There have already been episodes about the hook guy on lovers' lane, "Bloody Mary," and a haunted scarecrow. And they drive around in a 67 Impala! George
  11. I'm sure you realize that the "top" position is a matter of most recently posted and not necessarily of quality. George
  12. Just a reminder: Doojable's clue wasn't the "official" one. Flow7 has the floor. George
  13. Correct! Hit it, Wasway! George For the others who couldn't quite [lace it, teh whole line is "I'm looking at my girlfriend; she's passed out on the floor."
  14. Okay, I know I've seen this somewhere before; but it's not in this thread where it should be. How do I change the writing under my avatar (what used to be the "karma settings")? George
  15. If you know it, Rick, go ahead. It's awfully quite around here! George
  16. This reminds me of one of the skits in "Amazon Women on the Moon" (a classic comedy film, those who don't know). Steve Gutenberg makes a date with Rosanna Arquette. When he gets to her place, she asks him for his driver's license and a credit card. She runs them through a machine and gets a printout of all the dates he's had in the last year. The results are horrifying enough for her to send him away. Maybe the movie was just a little ahead of its time! :) George
  17. What about the REST of us guys??? George
  18. I'm pretty sure I've seen this before, but the signature at the end still caught me by surprise! George
  19. I wouldn't have guessed "Mulan" if you hadn't guessed "Moulin." Now I'll get to work on your disturbing pictures... George
  20. What a cutie! I hope he continues to bring you great joy! George
  21. True. Likewise, if the rule for 3 applies and the number ends in 5, it's divisible by 15. George
