  1. God, after hearing that diatribe, I may start drinking Drambuie
  2. Yea, Pinochio, except it only helped you, Ebeneezer Scrooge!
  3. Ex, Hickory is 40 miles from Boone, home of Appalachian State University, and Valdese is about 6 miles east of Morganton. I have lived in this area since 1968 except for 10 years living in Burlington.
  4. I think I remember Leonard was once a rodeo clown and a recovering Alcoholic. btw, if he had revelation gifts(Word of Knowledge and Word of Wisdom plus discerning of spirits), shouldn't Wierwille's lodging in Calgary sounded of whistles and alarms? Wierwille proably knew well about the Red Light District and was deliberatedly staying there with his perverted sexual appetite.
  5. It was Southwestern Booksellers(original Bible), btw, PFC sister is/was "L" who last I heard lived in Charlotte
  6. I moved to Burlington in September 1982 when my father (who was a Lutheran pastor) accepted a call to St. Paul's just outside of the village of Alamance, and lived there until he retired and moved to Hickory on July 6th, 1992. So i was familar with the area. BTW, had left TWI in December of 1979. This has been a Rosie the FOX special Alert
  7. as for Anti-Way books, I would suggest Karl Kahler's The Cult that Snapped and Kristen Skedgell's Losing The Way, then visit John Juddes website empire7.net, or google his name, He is pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in California., find a qualified psychologist who is familar with cults(the person may or may not be Christian), then if wanting to visit churches visit mainline denominations such as Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopalian, United Methodist, Presbyterian, etc. If none feel comfortable, then fine. It is whatever is your faith journey.
  8. the house was bigger on the inside than outside? sounds like you lived in a Tardis, hehe
  9. Ex, I was NC Minuteman in Greensboro until end of July because of not finding a 20 hour a week job and knew Jerry who was in charge of Way Booksellers(he was a former salesman with anational Bible/Book sales organization)and one of them PF was from Sanfordwho has/had a twin sister. "P" was gorgeous blond and I had a crush on her, didn't know she was dating her twig leader or I might have ended up marrying her. We now return you to our regular postings.
  10. Ex, no I don't hate you. If the topic bores you, then you can ignore it, won't hurt my feelings. Hope all is right with you
  11. The implication is there is no "ordained professional clergy" since all Christians are required to be that but with no salary/pay, no professional church musicians(well that knocks me out of any job/vocation/career)serving large organizations called "churches/denominations"(however band and/or chorus directors at high school or colege/university level that is secular is acceptable), budgets are forbidden and offerings are optional. Everyone is a servant evangelist doing soup kitchens, meals on wheels, Habitat for Humanity, helping at homeless shelters, etc. Social networking with other independent house churches but not being annexed by them. O, if churhes do proclaim heresies, then it does not become viral and other small groups may choose to reject them, reprimand them, or accept that group's theology is tolerated but not practiced in their gatherings. Jesus Christ is the only boss each human is responsible to. There is mutual subjection to one another on an equal basis. If problems do arise, then apostolic workers(mature adults) may visit and send written communications. BTW, not all in Corinth accepted Paul's ministry and some told him in person to drop dead and go to you know where, saying he had no authority to speak in God's name. Apostles may spend time with people but are only spiritual guidance counselors(elders or presbuteros) and that plurality or multiple people are necessary and all laity may consecrate communion, perform weddings(even if secular government opposses this), no sermons or homilies(boring dull speeches), and finally if it gets too big, split it. Hickory has about 75 thousand people and about 250 congregations denominationally. The proposed model for the city would be 10,000 private parishes averaging not more than 12 people per house permanently and to forbid numerical growth in each gathering. Viola, a former Assemblies of God, and Edwards, former Baptist pastor say this is the new paradigm and is mandatory by God's will. No Mars Hill Bible Church, no People's Temple, no Uniforcation, no Branch Davidian, no TWI, no JW, or any cult, because they violate the rule by absorbing other fellowships and wanted large numbers of people they could persuade or to put it simple smaller is always better. Jesus is Lord(Kurios) meaning boss man/ manager in which each person is responsible on an intimate basis and he alone has the final say so, whether we like his message or not. There is a balance between free will/choice and obedience by God's group think( not human coercion) through the working of the Holy Spirit, coming to an unaminous decision.
  12. Wierwille was the sleazy used car salesman, peddling snake oil as the traveling carnival pitchman. If you agreed with him, he was your best buddy and pal. If not, he became The Incredible Hulk and would bully you, seeing you as his enemy and threat.
  13. And whose brillant idea was it for all adults to carry wooden spoons(or ping pong paddles) to spank any misbehaving child? Bet if Wierille, Geer, Martindale, Rivenbark, or Linder were whacked, they would have pressed charges of assault and battery after calling the sheriff to arrest them, but if any other adult did that for rape or physical abuse done by the leaders, the above proably would physical beat to a pulp if not outright murder. Yep, just 1 straw short of Jim Jones and David Koresh.
  14. did the youth consider contacting the bishop for the area? did other people in the parish complain about the priest's behavior?
  15. EX, I also did not mean to offend you but this topic is so stupid about Wierwille and his smugness about spiritual things, yet he was so clueless about God, Jesus, etc. He just loved to brag and was a show-off, plus he was a bully behind closed doors. Yet it is funny that he used"revelation" to pick horses and proably also used the fortune teller to get rich. very ironic and contradictory the words get rich should not be redlined.
  16. Oh God, I just realised that Wierwille was in reality Al Bundy and Martindale was Griff
  17. Besides, it is generally understood that Master's thesis and doctoral disertations are property of the University/graduate school/theological seminary and the student must ask permission to reprint his/her work from the institution
  18. hmm, so Wierwille set up the booth near the horse race track. wonder if he used word of knowledge for placing bets?
  19. yes Spinal Tap, or from a alternate paralell universe Pressed Down, Shaken Together, and Runing Over(or is that Away)/Joyful Noise/Present Truth
  20. I thought Wierwille was forced to resign by the NW Ohio Synod of the E&R Church denomination or face defrockment trial because of his pamphlet Dilema of Foreign Missions and statements of accusing all denominations including his own being Satanic perversions of truth and possible threats(violence?) to his superiors, or at least from 2nd and 3rd hand discussions. Or was he boasting? similar rumors of possible dark horse candidate for the new UCC denomination.
  21. I am familar with Don Carson from the DVD series Open Home, Open Bible with Richard Bewes and Paul Blackman
  22. WG, there's a commercial about eyeglasses in which a woman thinks she is calling her cat to come inside and instead it's a raccoon. Absolutely hilarious
  23. Geisha, I appreciate what you said. Wierwille who should have known better, accussed apologists for retracting previous statements and saying that they were wrong and made up excuses. Apology is not saying I am/was wrong but is a defense of previous statements by adding further comments supporting what you said logiclly, reasonable manner, not arguing/having an emotional break down hissy poo ranting and raving, throwing a temper tantrum like a spoiled brat, acting as a 2 or 3 year old. this also includes Martindale as well.
  24. Tom, unfortunately Wierwille didn't always consistently abide by this rule as relates to context, sometimes yes, at other times no
  25. unless it is a latex glove used by doctors, btw you know Wierwille really isn't a Doctor though he tried to play one on Lima TV Now I've done it, Rosie the Riverter(with her partner Donna) and Mr. Linder are going to send out the Goon Squad after me. Yeah, whatever.
