  1. WW, I think money is the main reason splinter groups are created; many of them are full of S--t, but the lure of money to some is very appealing.
  2. Taxi, I used to attend his fellowship in Latham, NY. I had great experiences with Vince. I think Vince is a man people either really like, or they dislike him intensely.
  3. Twinky, perhaps people are watching football games.
  4. Outie, another reason why I am glad I never joined The Way Corps.
  5. WW, unbelievable!! I perhaps was more forunate than others; no one tried to prevent me from leaving. But, at the time I left in May of 1988, I was stationed in Italy; perhaps TWI had forgotten about me. I left very quitely, and never ever regreted it.
  6. Mike, could you be more specific? No one did anything to me when I left TWI; I left very quietly, and no one said Jack to me.
  7. Rocky, yes! That's how I feel.
  8. WW, I lived in Italy from 1988-1990, and I was surprised to see toddlers sip wine. Italy doesn't have a legal drinking age, yet there is far less Alcoholism there, than in the US.
  9. Taxi, I heard VPW teach live many, many times. I throught he was boring as S--t, but many of the audience members throught he was a MOG. However, I used to hear some guy named Ralph D teach live, and his teachings were funny, passionate, and articulate. God, what a teacher he was! He was one of the very few people I loved to hear teach in TWI; he really rocked!! Taxi, in MHO you didn't miss a lot by not hearing VPW teach live. OTOH, if you didn't hear Ralph D teach live, you really did miss out! But again, that is just my opinion; others may feel differently.
  10. Raf, I think it was Reagan who raised the drinking age from 18, to 21. Something about 21 year-olds are more mature, about drinking and driving.
  11. Galen, I too am a Navy Veteran. I didn't know this; thanks for the information.
  12. Raf, this is only one woman's opinion, but I think your posts are amazing!! Short, polite, and to the point. No Bullsheet! I quickly realized you are a professional writer; only a few have the gift of writing at such a high level. But what I really like about your posts, is that you don't try to convert others to your POV. Some of the posts here, in my view, seem to want readers to agree with their opinions. You seem quite happy to allow others a different POV, as long as the posts are polite, and not mean-spirited. Raf Rocks!!
  13. T-Bone, great post!! I am much more "Christian", and much happier, now that I am no longer a Bible-Thumper. As others have pointed out here at the GSC, we were unpaid salespeople for TWI, and tried to recruit others for all the classes. There was a lot of pressure on us to run classes, and have people go WOW. I just wanted to learn about God, and His Son Jesus Christ. Instead, I spent a lot of my free time being miserable, trying to witness to people who didn't want to hear about religion. Who could blame them? Finally, I gave up. One day I realized, TWI was teaching a lot of garbage, and I left. Life for me has been so much better, knowing I don't have to drag a millstone around my neck.
  14. Raf, I beg to differ with you; Demons do exist! I know one lives here in DC!!
