Mike, how will I know that it will be an authentic version of PFAL? I mean with so many copy cat versions out there. I would be afraid that Jesus might be carrying another, much more inferior of course, written work. Furthermore, V.P. is not still here with us to sign it so as to verify it's authenticity. Did you remember to sign the copy in Wierwille's absence? If not could you please get your copy back from Jesus, sign it and then return it to him? Thanks Mike. I know I can count on you. One problem with this scenario which another poster has already brought up though. Since Jesus gets left out of a lot of TWI teachings and especially religious productions, for example "Athletes of the Spirit". Jesus may not be in good standing with TWI. In that case TWI would refuse to sell Jesus a copy of the PFAL book or any other TWI publication and they certainly would not just give him one. In this case how could Jesus get a copy? Oh, wait a minute. I know now. Jesus could buy a copy on E-Bay before that blessed day. Never mind. God Bless you Mike. You're the Best. Hold it high.

Letters represented numbers in ancient times. As an example we see this in Roman numerals. This included letters representing numbers in the Greek alphabet as used by John in writting the book of Revelation. The number 666 would represent the ruler of a tyrannical government. In John's time the world dominate power was the Roman empire. Which Roman ruler if you would spell his name and then substitute numbers for each of the letters, then add up these numbers, which name of a ruler would add up to 666? Someone familiar with the Greek alphabet and a knowledge of history could probably tell you. In short, John was warning against tyrannical governments. Especially, a government like the one in his time, that wanted you to worship their ruler as a divine God. Emperor worship for the Roman empire was a historical fact during this time period and was practiced in the Roman culture. Furthermore, in worshipping the emperor the powers that be may also want you to renounce the Lord Jesus Christ as King of heaven and future king on earth. I think you have the gist of it Technocrat. I will vote as long as you change the first choice. The word twig has got to go. Use anything but "twig". You can use fellowship, meet, hang out, gather together, party, etc. Twig represents an unbiblical hierarchy where so called higher ups are looking over your shoulder. Anyone that looks over my shoulder in this manner would be sorry that they even thought about it.

Mike, that is an individual thing. It is like saying how does one honor the Lord Jesus Christ? That depends on the person. However, Cool Waters had a good post. She said to feed the sheep. How does one do that? That depends on what one has to offer. Everyone has their gift that they can share with others. You think your gift to share is PFAL. However, God may have other ideas. Why not share the gift of love and meekness with your fellow believers? Recognizing that they too have something to share. It might be that simple.

Good post Cynic. I double checked your New Testament verses using phileo and agapao. They are all correct. And yes, this does have significance. Thanks for posting it. I wrote an article on 1 Corinthians 13. I was going to have my article published on a web site, but I felt my understanding of agapao was to sectarian. Your verses show that my caution was justified. JESUS CHRIST Son of Man - The title Son of Man was Jesus' favorite way of referring to Himself. He may have done this because this was not a recognized title already known by the people and associated with popular ideas. This title means essentially "The Man." But as Jesus used it, it took on new significance. Jesus applied this title to Himself in three distinct ways: First, He used the title in a general way, almost as a substitute for the pronoun "I." A good example of this usage occurred in the saying where Jesus contrasted John the Baptist, who "came neither eating bread nor drinking wine," with the Son of Man, who "has come eating and drinking" (Luke 7:33-34). Another probable example is the statement that "the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head" (Luke 9:58). In this instance He warned a would-be disciple that those who wanted to follow Him must expect to share His homeless existence. Second, Jesus used the title to emphasize that "the Son of Man must suffer" (Mark 8:31). The word must implies that His suffering was foretold by the prophets. It was, indeed, "written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt" (Mark 9:12). So when Jesus announced the presence of the betrayer at the Last Supper, He declared, "The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him" (Mark 14:21). Later on the same evening He submitted to His captors with the words, "The Scriptures must be fulfilled" (Mark 14:49). Finally, Jesus used the title Son of Man to refer to Himself as the one who exercised exceptional authority-authority delegated to Him by God. "The Son of Man has power [authority] on earth to forgive sins" (Mark 2:10), He declared. He exercised this authority in a way that made some people criticize Him for acting with the authority of God: "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath" (Mark 2:28). The Son of Man appeared to speak and act in these cases as the representative man. If God had given man dominion over all the works of His hands, then He who was the Son of Man in this special representative sense was in a position to exercise that dominion. Near the end of His ministry, Jesus spoke of His authority as the Son of Man at the end of time. Men and women "will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory," He declared (Mark 13:26). He also stated to the high priest and other members of the supreme court of Israel: "You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven" (Mark 14:62). He seemed deserted and humiliated as He stood there awaiting their verdict. But the tables would be turned when they saw Him vindicated by God as Ruler and Judge of all the world. Only once in the Gospels was Jesus referred to as the Son of Man by anyone other than Himself. This occurred when Stephen, condemned by the Jewish SANHEDRIN, saw "the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God" (Acts 7:56). In Stephen's vision the Son of Man stood as his heavenly advocate, in fulfillment of Jesus' words: "Whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God" (Luke 12:8). Thanks Socks. I sure did not know that the family property had been deaded, er I mean deeded that early. Thanks for the clarification. Like I said, that was a big mistake. The two brothers should have leased the property to the Way International with conditions instead. Even a 50 year lease that could be renewed or not after its expiration would have been better than what they have now. Then 4 years from now the vagabonds could have been out of there. Don't worry Ex. Harve would have a difficult time posting here on Grease Spot Cafe. I would sure hate to scare him off, but it would be something along the lines of Custer at the Little Big Horn. When I first heard in the 70s that Victor Wierwille was going to deed over his family property to the Way International, I thought that was a bad idea. I told the person that I heard it from that this was a bad idea. The gist of what he said in response was that this is what was decided for right or for wrong. However, I do recall getting a small concession that perhaps I was correct in my judgement. Even a cursory reading of the bible shows the importance of ones inheritance both materially and spiritually. In fact, the only families among the tribes of Israel that were not alloted an inheritance of actual physical land were the Levites. Now today perhaps the Way leaders think of themselves as present day Levites. However, I don't see any blood on their garments from the sacrifice of bulls and other animals. If they think of themselves as the equivalent of Levites perhaps they should all retire and get real jobs. The reason is that, in case they have forgotten, Jesus Christ was the sacrifice for all eternity and that the function of Levite was no longer necessary because of his sacrifice. Oldiesman does make a good point, however. I wonder how many of the current TWI Board of Trustees own land? Perhaps, they also should make the ultimate religious sacrifice and also deed their land over to that wonderful religious organization that so wonderfully takes care of their old and sick loved ones. (Ha ha ha.) I mean they expect this kind of sacrifice from the Wierwille family right? And we know they would never want to be considered hypocrites? Oh, God forbid. If Harve Platig or another TWI representative reads this I have only this to say. You pride yourself on being a biblical research and teaching ministry. However, in actual depth of understanding and practical application you fall grossly short. If you were actually following the teachings of the bible, you would return the ancestral home of the Wierwille family back to the living Wierwille descendants. If you want scripture and verse I can provide this. However, judging from your previous standard of spiritual deceit and corruption the living scriptures would fall on deaf ears. This is your choice and rationalization. However, do not be deceived. Your cold hearted rationalization in not at least financially caring for, in the entirety, the wife of your founder will be evident to all. Especially considering that you have the Wierwille ancestral home which is not only of great monetary value, but also according to biblical custom should be for the offspring and the descendants of the Wierwille family. People that hear of this matter will know intellectually, spiritually and morally that you are nothing but religious frauds and hypocrites. You wear this hat well actually and it becomes you. You have for many years, but with each misdeed this will be apparent to more and more. This however, is a misdeed of such sizable proportions that even people that were never with your organization will be appalled and feel your hypocrisy intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. At best you are now simply a corporation. However, to all that value love, goodness, kindness and brotherly charity you are nothing, but reprobate hypocrites with a rationalization for every evil deed and act.

One of the reasons more believers in Jesus Christ don't believe that his existence began at his birth is because many of these believers were murdered in the middle ages. It seems the Pope sent his army after about 3 tribes of them and murdered them all. Where did I learn this unsavory bit of information you ask? From someone that believes in the validity of the trinity and calls himself a trinitarian. Great way to move the Word, huh?
