  1. Susan Sarandon Rocky Horror Picture Show Tim Curry (I'd link to Barry Bostwick, but that would be just plain malicious...)
  2. Ah, I described 3 leaders, one leader, his successor, and that person's successor. I didn't mention any names, but they should be plainly obvious who they described. Oh, and that was "off-the-cuff". I didn't compile a list off any of them, I just thought a moment and typed. That's some of the evil things each has done OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. A more thorough list would include much more frightening things like suggesting it's ok to molest one's own daughters and implying it's something he'd already done, and so on.
  3. Don't think someone might not say something like that. Among the many, many moronic things l craig martindale said from the podium was to say that there was a certain sound that scared "devil-spirits", and he demonstrated what it was by audibly cocking a gun. He never explained why a solid weapon would concern an incorporeal being, but that was ALSO typical of lcm's time with the microphone. "I can say any fool thing I want and you have to accept it and follow me blindly because I'm in charge." Don't think that's an exaggeration. One poster here, when asked to swear allegiance to lcm whom he'd known personally, phoned him and asked him if this was what it sounded like- a call to follow him BLINDLY. lcm replied that (according to lcm) this was what he'd been doing all along. lcm did NOT get the response he expected, somehow. The poster told him "If that's what you think, you can kiss my @$$" and hung up on him, which was the last he ever heard from twi.
  4. Or, you know, going to Wikiquote like I said... Movies are a little easier, since IMDB tends to have a page of quotes for each movie already.
  5. That's the plot, and the correct episode name. Riker's suspicions that something is up reveal it's all a Romulan plot..... and Riker's suspicions about THAT reveal the Romulan plot was a ploy, and it was all about a poor, lonely child stranded on that planet. Riker offers him transport on the Enterprise (which he accepts). The big clues for Riker of the original ploy were the computer pausing whenever he tried to go somewhere unexpected- it was stalling so the correct hologram could be set up.... ...and "Minuet" being his late wife when Minuet herself was only a holodeck program he met once! Of course, we just talked about the episode where she appeared, which probably made this episode easier to guess. (It's what inspired my choice.) It's George's turn again.
  6. Yes, and it's been the case since vpw was in charge. He did that all the time and relied on "creative bookkeeping" to hide how much money he laundered and used on his luxuries. Meanwhile, the whole thing's BLATANTLY illegal, and a good audit of the way international's books would reveal what a money-laundering scheme the whole thing is.
  7. A guy plagiarizes a bunch of Christians and claims to have revelation unique for the past 2000 years. He hints around and gets people to think he's the closest thing to the 12 apostles to walk the earth. He chain-smokes and boozes it up-and gets people to buy plenty of his favorite liquor and nicotine for when he comes to town. He calls all other Christian leaders living "inferior" to himself while he tries to find Christians who are fine with orgies, and has rationalized out for himself that God is FINE with orgies. He lacks any experience in ANY program, but sets up one where people pay tuition to perform manual labor and eat little, and that cheap food. He has the program entrants write an autobiography, and uses the autobiographies to help select which women to molest and rape. He claims he's never been sick or had a headache one single day of his life. He claims to have taken "ALL" the classes Moody offers- but their registrar's office has never HEARD of him signing up for a single CLASS. After decades of DAILY alcohol use and tobacco smoke, he gets cancer- which he blames on sitting in a room with bright lights over a decade earlier and says it has nothing to do with anything else. He claims people can believe away all sorts of illnesses and problems, yet manages to convince people that his inability to wave away his own fatal illness does not reflect an inability of himself to believe. For his successor, he groomed a man loyal to him beyond all reason, and made him twofold the child of hell he himself was, skipping over competent leaders and less stupid ones to do so. His successor becomes even loonier, saying the Pope owns an aircraft carrier and will begin forcing conversions to Catholicism at threat of murder. He announces that aome people (homosexuals) were worthy of being murdered, and that he'd be happy to do so if he were allowed. He also treated the women of the organization as his personal harem. His own successor said staff should not own pets- while owning a cat. She consented to the purge of homosexuals from the group while renting a residence to homosexuals, and sleeps in the same bed with another woman when traveling on vacation- all while twi still condemns homosexuals. Staff still live in basically walk-in closets with facilities no better than low-grade college dorms- while she says they live with "many privileges." If the Branch Davidian cult was downright loony, is twi loonier, just as loony, or less loony but still crazy?
  8. "Main Bridge." "Repeat command." "I said, Main Bridge." "The computer has been slow all morning. A processing accelerator is down. Commander La Forge is running a Level-1 diagnostic to isolate the problem." "I'm running a level 1 diagnostic!" "For thirty hours? That would never take you more than four. You're incapable of that level of incompetence, Mr. La Forge!" "I could get used to the idea of a Ferengi Ensign...but Admiral Picard... on a Romulan Warbird? What is that all about?" ""Shut up!" "I beg your pardon?" "I said 'shut up'! As in 'close your mouth and stop talking.'" "Will... that happened sixteen years ago." "That day on Onias Three you were infected with a strain of Altarian encephalitis. A retrovirus that incorporates its DNA directly into the cells of its host. It can lie dormant for years, then suddenly become active, as it did in your case ten days ago." "Will... this virus invariably destroys all memory back to the moment of the original infection. In your case, all the way back to Alpha Onias Three."
  9. I could easily see someone WARNED that they'd have to hand over their daughters if they stayed, which they might well have had to do. I don't see twi people telling them so in plain words, however. They would have couched the whole thing in flowery phrases, and kept the parents in the dark entirely. Then again, some parents handed over underaged girls when David Koresh said they were supposed to have sex with him- he phrased it in a much more flowery manner, of course....
  10. Well, if Ted didn't bolt over the idea that Ramona was married to T*m M while she was having sex with l craig martindale, and lcm refused to let her leave the grounds when T0m decided he'd had enough twi abuse and was going to leave, and she continued to have sex with lcm soon after T0m put a bullet in his head because he couldn't deal with the bizarre set of events, then why would he bolt over the idea that Ramona was trying to procure more victims for lcm after he tired of her? As for Ramona, she's obviously insane. No sane person could fail to respond in all the situations she's just "coasted" through. I'm married, and another woman's husband wants to have sex with me? Ok. My husband doesn't like it? Well, he can leave, I'll stay with the adulterer. Ok. My husband blew his brains out over it? What a pity. Yes I'll screw the adulterer again, sure. Oh, the adulterer is tired of me and wants younger meat? Sure I'll find him another girl.... http://www.greasespotcafe.com/main2/editorial/editorial-items/driven-to-suicide.html
  11. Oh, I'm certain that if you addressed something to the person's first and last name on that server, that it would be forwarded to the correct person regardless of the correct email address. (example: RosalieRivenbark@, or JohnLinder@.) Do you need a list of names for some of the staff?
  12. He would eat DONKEY MEAT? What a strange thing for a noon meal! Seriously, Howard Allen was a pervert and a dirty old man. Unless he's still alive, in which case he IS a dirty old man.
  13. La Forge!" "I could get used to the idea of a Ferengi Ensign..."
  14. Next episode. "Main Bridge." "Repeat command." "I said, Main Bridge." "The computer has been slow all morning. A processing accelerator is down."
  15. "You're a doctor, that's a patient!" I can name a FEW episodes of TOS. I know more names, but I can't always match the names to the episodes with those names. So I can actually guess a name with no memory of the episode. (Generally I don't guess them CORRECTLY when I do that.) If you want to brush up on your TOS, YouTube AND CBS.com both seem to have the series. http://www.cbs.com/classics/ http://www.youtube.com/show/startrek
  16. You're thinking of the autodestruct sequence during "When Silence Has Lease". With something like 10 seconds left on the countdown, the Captain and First Officer were shutting it down. "...Ten seconds to auto-destruct..." "Captain..." "Abort auto-destruct sequence." "Riker, William T., do you concur?" "Yes! Absolutely! I do indeed concur! Wholeheartedly!" "Auto-destruct canceled." "A simple 'yes' would have sufficed, Number One." "I didn't want there to be any chance of a misunderstanding." It was the "Wholeheartedly" that most of us remembered. :)
  17. Are you with me, Doctor Wu? Are you really just a shadow of the man that I once knew? Are you crazy, are you high, or just an ordinary guy? Have you done all that you could do? Are you with me Doctor....?" It was a little easier to remember the name because I saw a Doctor Wu's name once, and I kept humming the song whenever I saw it again. That, and someone made a fan-video for the Steely Dan song which was very good, and YouTube keeps deleting it. (Good thing I saved the video.) That was the first time I gave the lyrics a lot of attention. Then I had to look up which country uses piasters as a currency (or DID use it, as it turns out.)
  18. Luke 17 1Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Mark 9:41-42 (King James Version) 41For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. 42And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. Matthew 18:5-7 (King James Version) 5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
  19. Hey, if Rosalie really believed her own line about this all being spiritual, then this would be one thing to "set the example" in and do herself. Then again, in the way international, it's standard procedure for the head honcho to order people to do as he says/she says, not as he does/she does. =============================== Matthew 23 1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. 8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
  20. The thing is, if people are STUCK, it's ok to throw in A clue or A detail, but as it is, dumping the plot like that took all the accomplishment out of remembering the right one. BTW, I could have gotten it from Bones' comment about curing a rainy day. It's my favorite line from the entire original series. (I'm really not sharp on most of the original series, aka "TOS". However, a few posters here are...) Ok, the exchange about Dixieland was Riker and "Minuet", the holographic projection the Bynars used to keep him on the ship but in the holodeck so he couldn't stop them. Was I the only person who thought that Starbase guy was meant to look related to Picard? Or to Sean Connery? Or both? This was the episode fans call "Binary" because we can't remember the exact order of the ones and zeroes. The official title is something like "11001001". I'd check, but I'm not allowed to look it up when guessing.
  21. Let's see... Lucy Ricardo, Ricky, yeah, close enough. You needed to just name the series, the show, and that's specific enough. (Only one show had Lucy RICARDO, and had Ricky, more or less.) BTW, like the rest of "Name That TV Show", I actually quoted a few different episodes. I shall identify them. Oh, and yes, it's your turn now. "Wikiquote" will help if you're absolutely stumped for ideas. That's all of them. I hope that brought back a funny memory somewhere. Your turn!
  22. " 'El Breako the Leaso'?" "Introducing Rhea, the Medium. Well done, Medium Rhea!" "I got the golbloots from a booshoo bird?!" "We may have to remove her Zorch." "How can you sell meat so cheap?" "I'm glad you asked that. We rope, we brand, we butcher. We do everything but eat it for you." "What do you know about rice?" "Well, I had it thrown at me on one of the darkest days in my life." "It's going to be called "Bitter Grapes." I wonder what part they want me for." "Oh, you're probably going to be one of the bunch."
  23. I think he did a cartoon series. This is not it, however.
  24. I remember Worf saying that to Riker when Worf was off playing Parisses Squares and promising to win. I don't remember which episode the exchange came from, but I remember the exchange.
