  1. I have looked up cleanliness before in Websters and it is NOT next to Godliness. I found that cleanliness is next to cleavage.
  2. Out There

    11th Corps

I'm very happy for you. Thank God for the great work He has done in you.
  3. upon first meeting someone and they say to me "You look familiar, do I know you?" i reply "I don't know, have you ever been to prison?" I get into elevators and stand in the middle and face the back wall (Drives my wife bonkers) whenever someone new ties into one of my ropes, I always tell them "Be careful I don't remember which end that dog peed on. Some really stupid fast food clerk - just before they say anything to you say with a straight face "Welcome to mcDonalds, Can I take your order please?"
  4. I really don't care about lcm but I do care about the people here whom he did screw over. I think that the sooner someone can finish ( terrible word doesn't really work but it's the best one I have) mourning their time in TWI and are able to move on the better. I grieved the loss of Tom Mitchell, But eventually we all have to get on with our lives, Yes are are justified to be ticked off, I don't deny you that. Gut do try to get some resolution into your heart.
  5. You know. I don't like him and for what he did and the damage he caused he'll have to answer to God for that. But to post about spitting on him or to keep stating the fact that he has fallen doesn't really play well to the fact of your intelligence. I say he has made his bed and he has to lie in it. I'm not going to keep wasting my time talking about him and what I think his life is like now.
  6. It was at the root beer saloon at ROA 76. I was missing around with some girl I met and she dropped some coins that rolled all over the place. a Kennedy half dollar rolled under the next table so I went after it. There were alot of people so I had to crawl through some ladies legs. I got my head through when she suddenly clamped them together on myu head. I looked up from between her legs. It was Mrs. Wierwille and she was sitting and chatting with Mrs. Owens. I was ushered outside by the two of them and received the spray job you've never seen. After that when I went into the Corps a few years later both ladies remembered me from that night and always said hello to me whenever they saw me.
  7. Funny, I knew them all too. I knew David and his wife also. I was living in Norristown at the time with the Branch Coordinators, JIm and Sue. Bill was a close friend of mine, we went into the 11th together. Patty taught me how to swim. I worked with the older sister at a photolab in Philadelphia. I guess their lives made impacts on many people.
  8. I haven't read but the past few pages of this thread but I am going to add my couple cents as to what I think the focus is intended as here. I absolutely believe that God has had His hand in the direction of my life. I parted ways with the TWI in late 1988. However I don't regret even one moment of the time I spent there. It molded me into the person I am today. Sure I hated for the moment the hair combing and the endless hours sittng on the floor in the upper room in Emporia. But those things that were stupid, wrong idiotic, helped me learn how to hold fast to that which was good and discard the rest. It was exactly what God wanted for my life to help me become a good minister of His Word. (I wonder how many mines I have tripped so far this post) Given the choice I would relive it all and thank God for what he was teaching me. Anyone remember Samuel and Eli? Samuels time with Eli molded him into the person he became for God. If I were to spend my moments always trying to remember the past and try to separate all the bad from the good it would take me 50 years, 1 month and 28 days to do such. I would then never get to see what God has for my future. As to this threads title, whoever started this is under the assumption that God cannot and did not work with us in the midst of chaos. I was not blinded by VP. what he taught gave me a solid start on the path I am still on today. I loved the man when he was alive and was proud to consider him as a brother, teacher, and friend. oh. yea, he never tried to get into my pants. I can not apologize for any wrong doings of a brother but I can I believe help you sort it out and hopefully see any evil for what it is. I can't change your past but I hope I can help you see the comfort of God's love and pray for you continually. I still live each day borrowing from what I learned from my time in the TWI. I hope you do too. (Oops, was that another explosion)

Thank God the photographer captured my good side. Oh, wrdsandwrks, I still look much like I did back then, only 15 pounds heavier. I needed it, I was a big 150 lbs and 6' tall when I graduated. I don't run anymore thanks to fake knees, nor do I keep track of aerobic points since my job has me performing exercises 6 hours a day minimum, I think I'll have all my points for the week by noon today. I am starting today to train for a climb I will be doing in spring of 2009. I am on a team that will be doing a new route up a peak called Ama Dablam in Nepal. I am very excited about it since I made the decision to do itover the weekend , even though it's 18 months away. I have a few climbs lined up between now and then up in Canada and maybe one possible to Ecuador and Bolivia. I shaved off my mustaches just before graduation. My wife looks almost exactly the same also. only grown up. Still beautiful as the day we first really talked in the Library in Gunnison. Life is good.
  10. She was a friend of mine back when i was in Philadelpia (I'm embarresed to say but that was back in 1979, Damn I'm getting old,)

    11th Corps

Hey 11th. I am more or less just hanging around here any more. It's too phuck3d up out in some of the other areas and with all the shots that are taken. I am retreating as I really don't much want to be a part of it anymore. I have too much to do right here in Grand Rapids so why mess around on a internet scale

I'm sure we did. I was the first presenter/ speaker of the morning. My wife and I were up for the morning only, then I had to leave and go to work. Gosh, i loved being there. I hated to have to leave. I was really blessed to meet some of you Chicago folk. I hope you know you are welcome over here any time at all.

Well, to keep us on top I will stimulate us all with a trip down mammory lane. Remember our graduating corps days? I'll never forget Micheal Fort standing up and telling us how spiritually mature we were becasue here we were at Emporia for our days. He said his graduating Corps days started with a raft trip down the colorado river. I will never forget turning to Larry R and whispering to him "damm. I wanted a raft trip" AH, the graduating corps days we had, who else was disappointed?

We belong on top! It's our rightful place in this world
  16. We went this past springtime and had a BLAST!! We spent everyday at Red Rocks climbing to our hearts content and then every night we walked the strip. I now have the distinction of having gambled in every casino - didn't miss a one, on the strip. I came away $8.25 ahead. Of course the most I gambled in any one casino was $.50 We had a really lot of fun. sleep in, Eat, Climb, Eat, gamble nickels and people watch.
  17. I sometimes go to peaks that are trailess. one a few weeks back was 21 miles of bushwacking, boulder hopping, river fjording and downright nasty to get to. without a GPS it would have been ten times the work trying to navigate with a map and compass. Mine is 10 years old (I got it right after the end of the week.) and couldn't work without it. It's an old 12 channel and slow but once I start it up it takes about 20 minutes for it to synchronize but after that I leave it on and strapped to the top of my pack till I get home.
  18. Ah Sea Sponges the contraceptive of choice, They are alot like tampons, they may not be #1 but they are right up there! When you are through using them they serve other uses for the smart MAL (adjusted) person. such as dish duty or, a replacement for an old luffah. What's that I hear... Dental Floss substitute
  19. THis is the stupidest thing I have seen today. Oh, yea, SHE IS FAKING IT!!!
  20. I have always wanted to do what God wants me to do. If He had wanted me to stay then I definately would have. But, He didn't so there is no sense in guessing
  21. I haven't read much of this thread but without action I'm sorry but I keep it in the rumor file
  22. OOOh Duct Tape, Why didn't I ever think of that
  23. Notice that its the ladies that are keeping this thread alive and vibrating
  24. First WELCOME To GS.. Unless your a wayfer your thoughts may be carried over the telephone lines by Devil Spirits and the switchboard wives are the first line of spiritual defense. You'd do a lot better to go there in person and ask at the switchboard to see that person. When they lead you to a room to wait for them, stick your head out a couple minutes later and yell "Excuse Me, Excuse Me, But your out of toilet paper in here" If this doesn't get them to rush the person to you think about plan B.
