  1. Ex-Vitness from down under!!!!!! I was raised Mormon and then joined TWI, jumping one cult to another with one hell of a party, lasted a few years between!!!!! I had Vitness nieghbors as a Mormon and the worked with many over the years......... Like Mormon, the Vitnesses I knew were for the most part just good people,,,,,,,,, now the doctrine is another story
  2. Welcome refiner; TWI core belief, answer a question with a question....... :P--> So my question is what has sparked your curiosity in TWI?????
  3. Does it matter that TWI operated in that area for years? Rico M., last I heard about him he was doing press releases for HQ during WayDale days. He went to college in Carbondale and had quite a fellowship there. 93 WOWs were there with a local fellowship and their history might not start with but includes our own Matilda. Our own Tom H. (Wonder where he has been) was in Mt. Vernon with quite a fellowship. Maybe TWIM needs to know this.............
  4. TWI only helps its members......................... a very true statement, that is once you remember that only BOT/BOD are members, everyone else is SOL!!!!!!! A group that has never been associated with or had knowledge of TWI comes up with a very similar name. They may have a chance, but legally they formed and named years after the mark was legal and registered. At least they are on a level playing field being real lawyers battling lawyers. There has always been that one kid that was worse than the bullies............ the one that picks fights and had to get some one else to fight for them.............
  5. Hey Lifted, He did a ho-ho relo or something and stayed with my WOW family in CT, 1979
  6. note to Juan Cruz evenings and week-ends provide a safer haven from such first responses. Now the 2nd Pete stuff, check out 2Tim 3 (I think it is) In all honesty I could see and document more from TWI-2 from these sections of scriptures. The first was better at covering up.........
  7. ckeer, God’s ministry huh? The true household and the faithful remnant all living in Zion right? I am sorry for your loss, yet I look and see a man that if I was going to choose to associate with and want to fellowship with it would be you! You and anyone else that shows such great love, devotion and commitment to a spouse through such tragedy. I can testify to that mind set of perfection you are talking about, but allow me to clarify something here. LCM taught that, his WC cronies did not take it wrong, nor did they do a single action without his full knowledge! He did successfully distance himself so while such atrocities were happening there was always doubt he knew or backed such things. Where was the household? They were either busy being so distracted with their own busy work to be good enough to be in the household, or they were so busy being busy-bodies reporting weakness to leaders so more people could be busy building *strength*. That and the ever present *service* to leaders, while you were confronted for lack of a clean house, the household was cleaning the leader’s house! I have found some people that were out there on spiritual probation, faithfully writing their letters every month, isolated and to full of fear to contact any one no longer associated with TWI. Some for up to four years! The one that wrote away for four years had a medical condition that was kept well in check by medication. But, he was weak and imperfect because he was on medication! They separated him from his family and he ended up divorced and had to fight for even simple visitation rights. With in a year of the TWI *suggested divorce, they booted his exwife. Then she was out there writing away and refusing to attempt to work things out with him, for fear it would prevent her getting back in. And people wonder why I would prefer to see more time devoted to dealing with the *Present Truth* on this site................
  8. The answer is so obvious........................... To make you wonder, wonder1!!!!!!!!!! :D--> And we wouldn’t be doing our duty of being cop-outs if we didn’t show how possessed all that leave the walls of Zion are!!!!! Dang-it! We have a mission and we are going accomplish it to help prove the BOD/BOT right!!!! Take the snow-cone, eat the snow-cone............. you won’t feel a thing!!!!!!!!!
  9. If watching circus animals jump through hoops reminds you of fellowship........... you might be in a cult If you sold your nice home and moved into a dump that’s rent is higher than your mortgage payment was............... you might be in a cult NOW HERE'S YOUR SIGN
  10. MAYBE IF FREERAT SMELLS BEAR SHE'LL COME AND POST!!!!!! Where are you, stzy21 and so many other buds from old chat times???????????????????? If you happen to read this, happy happy to you and would like to hear from ya!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks Raf, Seems most people have their mind made up and either *buy* the Thirteenth Tribe as gospel or see it as bunk. Same with the DNA, proof for one side and bunk for the other. I tend to believe that in this day and age of information we live in and with the very long history of hatred towards the Jews, they would not make such statements that couldn’t be backed up. I did not see any place where scientific evidence disproved what is being said about the DNA.
  12. Ok Raf!!! cough it up will ya already????? :D--> Where can this be documented? I am curious to see this.
  13. for safety purposes I am going to use thewayinternationalreallysucks.com don't want some strange® dragging my ( * ) into court :D-->
  14. Garth, Thanks, but it was a wild-a$$ statement. Thought it was appropriate because it *fits* many of the similar statements made here. You know...........................like family name --> And here I thought his middle name was H. :D-->
  15. LongGone, I have read those links over a few times, not much of a chance for the defendant to prevail in this is there? Zix, Have to disagree, heck the defense is resting on emotion! If a jury decides to rule despite the law, what judge will sit and allow that in their court? Don’t forget the instructions to the jury always is to make their ruling according to the evidence and the law. Dang, I just hope that the foolish actions of one don’t ill affect all the other ex-way sites. I see that possibility more likely than the ridiculous doomsday posted before. Hey legal buffs, could all this open the door for TWI concerning other ex-way sites? If it possibly could, maybe that’s why the extra lawyers........................
  16. What about that guy, think he was 8th WC that did the impression of George C. Doing Patton??? The I wouldn’t give a hoot in he!! One. The guy said VP just loved it!!!!!!!!
  17. Goey, Isn’t there some history where TWI did go after some groups using what they considered their mark? Thought at least one was mentioned on this thread. The biggest threat to TWI has come in the form of the internet by ex-members placing in plain view what all should know about that group. WayDale brought them to their knees and almost hit them with a fatal blow. Now the funny thing with religious groups is that tendency they seem to believe they are right and superior to their competition. Got to stop the devil from taking them down you know! They start searching for any possible way to stop the continuous *griping* placed out there for all to see. Then there it is, a simple mark dispute! Weak, possibly; but there is a chance too win and set some sort of legal precedence that will aide them in shutting down all the others! Despite reasons and excuses, the first mark complaint is dropped as the offending mark is changed. Yet, low and behold an even stronger mark infringement appears and it’s the same dude! Eureka! Now the defense is based on the mark being invalid. Can that really be used as a defense in this setting? Can the district court declare it invalid? Or is it going to see the dispute between to parties that has a long history and that the defendant has decided to act by his own law, obtaining the domain name to use against the mark owners? I can see losing this case and then with the time and resources getting the mark declared invalid through the proper channels. Once that is done, appealing and getting the first judgement overturned. But, then how far ahead has anyone looked? If TWI some how would lose this, they have everything to gain by making the proper and legal appeals. They got the time and the $$$$ to drag the final judgement out for years. That is why I don’t think Long Gone’s final outcome of all this is that far fetched.
  18. Just Thinking, Sure they always operate that way. There is the official word from the pulpit and the real word in the fellowships. As long as they can keep the right hand from knowing what the left hand is doing it is very hard to corner them legally. There was a couple that the woman testified in court, lying about what the official definition and practice of M&A is. Now this was some of the very few lower than RC’s that were kept on full time pay. Not even Lcs and had towed the line perfectly, M&Aing numerous people and dividing families. Soon after they fulfilled their *function* in court, they went after the couple and ripped them apart. Rumor was that the women ended up a wreck and in therapy. Word on the street verses word from the top. Goey, I see your point, however the exchange of information in exchange for donations may bring a gripe site into another category. That and it is not the usual gripe site, they have that license and claim to be a news group, or net magazine. Don’t know, but there are many web mags and many collect donations. Wonder if they have all their non-profit stuff in place to avoid crossing any legal lines. And why do I get the feeling that the defendant feels he is dealing with idiots, looking for that missed little detail that some how all those lawyers have missed and he will find? I don’t think they were bluffing. Might be reading to much into this all, but it seems to look that way to me.
  19. Longgone, That quote is accurate. He also said that there is a lot of evil on the www, such as pornography and ex-way sites. You could get possessed by going to one of those type sites, the ex-way ones that is. Other times he commented about what a great wealth of information was available, but it was also the devil’s playground. That suit that Goey found, am I missing something here? The right to free speech and having a gripe site was upheld because the owner of the gripe site didn’t cross any lines where it could be proven he profited from it. Interesting that he could offer the domain up for an auction, a sure plus for the case being discussed here. But then I have some trouble understanding beating the obtaining in bad faith. Yes, I am clueless as to how the law defines this. But, TWI goes after someone over a mark issue, (not sure reasons for dropping it are relevant,) and the domain name is changed. Then their name shows up as a domain name and the same person has it? Now, I find the history troubling. That and the $$$ issues combined complicates, at the least; defending against TWI’s claims.
  20. Seems like oldies puts women in two categories those that won’t and those that wanted it. Wonder where he puts the women in his life?
  21. Yeah, talk about your rightly dividing!!!!! :D--> Or cutting to the mustard for you anti-whatever freaks........
  22. Perhaps if the grouchy hairy uncle’s first post had not mentioned brain-washing, oldies wouldn’t have such a firm objection. There are some parallels that are quite easily seen between the abusive prison guards and TWI leaders. One could easily argue that the prisoner’s guards did not have ultimate authority. They are starting to answer for their crimes now. Just as easily as a targeted victim of TWI could refuse to submit and call on a higher power, so could those prisoners! Therefore, because those prisoners refused to stand up for their rights and call those guards’ bluff because they really wouldn’t pull the trigger anyway. Wait, did the prisoners stop and think about Rumsfeld, Bush or the American Congress or people before they acted? I have to conclude then all abuse was as much their fault as any Americans! Oh, the prisoners didn’t know if their abusers would pull the trigger or not, wait; I haven’t seen all the pictures and the ones I have seen I don’t see pointed guns! Once again because I don’t see pointed guns then the pointed guns are a fabrication and have to be wrong! Don’t bother to try and show me a pointed gun picture I won’t buy it anyway! Someone just told me the story of a 12th WC gal that while in residence up and left. Huge public humiliation followed, the gal’s friends and family abandoned her and believed she was possessed by some major spirits! Slowly as friends and family left TWI they started to believe her side of the story. A major leader came right out and told her that she could do him, alone or in a threesome or get out now! Now she did the right thing, but until WayDale and that exodus that followed over the sexual exploits being reveled of a certain leader, no one would hardly talk to her let alone believe her. Ultimate authority? No! But enough power to ruin a portion of a person’s life and separate them from all their loved ones. Maybe the next girl thought about that, being alienated from all their loved ones that are *in*, or maybe she bought the flesh is flesh and sticking a finger in an ear is the same as sex to God! (Don’t laugh, that line was documented in another court case) But it was power and it was authority wrongly used against their victims. Brain-washing, nope; true science has proven even the Korean brain-washing in POW camps is nothing more than urban legend. But the lack of brain washing doesn’t negate the abuse of authority or the evil manipulation by those in authority and pass the blame to the victims.
  23. Goey, Sure we know who they are representing and how their clients came by the money. If I am not mistaken TWI has a long and lucrative (for the law firm) relationship with this firm. Wouldn’t the firm be on a retainer? But our judgement of the firm is totally biased because of what we know of this particular client. Perhaps the question should be how many other clients like the one we despise do they have? But you also help make my point, as far as the advice in the legal area. Why the cash settlements? The BOT/BOD could have insisted on going to court with those cases, but their lawyers advised against it and recommended settlement. The firm would have made a much bigger payday by going on to trial. But they are paid to represent their clients best interest. The 200 buck fine, I am sure that TWI was advised that there was very little they could do to the trespasser. But, TWI saw their property rights threatened and the fight was over that, not what they could do to Doug. It was strictly a legal battle, law firms do not base what cases they take on morals or ethics. Had Doug won, some of their property would have been open to the public and cop-outs would have been free to come and go. But, I think that Doug did win a victory as even cop-outs now can follow a procedure and visit where their loved ones remains have been laid to rest. If addresses and dates prove critical to the out come of the case, they will thank-you as they simply amend! If they were critical from the filing date, that would have been researched. Yes lawyers do take the words of their clients on some things, such as details as dates. But, what is always researched is the legal aspect, does the client have a case according to the laws governing the case? The president and founder of WayDale didn’t have the money to hire that high profile and very expensive lawyer. But he had a very solid case! Anytime someone has a solid case there are many good lawyers willing to take the case and collect from the client. What TWI refers to as the *copy-cat case* had to have the evidence and merits for that lawyer to pick-up on also. Which she did, so once again it was in their clients best interest to pay and get out of it. Peelers have to prove that TWI lied to them, which we all know they did. Proving it in a court of law maybe another matter. I think they have a good solid case based on TWI collecting money while claiming there was only a one time *affair*. Sorry Digger for the derail. However if you’d like a class action this is the type of things to look at. Based on morals and ethics TWI doesn’t have a leg to stand on. But the legal aspects are a whole different arena. An example is the Chalet, you’d have to prove in a court of law they always intended for it to be the 2nd presidents home while they solicited funds. Strange-one......hehe, sure judges never ever report spastic legal advice and actions to *bars*, but they may spend a lot at time at one
