Still haven't seen book, chapter and verse on "all the women of the kingdom belonged to the king." I'm not talkin' about PFAL book, chapter, and verse. I'm talking about The Bible, book chapter and verse. Put up or shut up, please. PFAL is NOT synonymous with the Bible. Oh, what about the woman taken in adultery who was brought before Jesus? Did He condemn her?
-
"You're saying something in PFAL was the key that opened the door to adultery. Balderdash. I don't buy that gobbledygook. Like the "Christ is absent" false accusation. Take one phrase out of its context, and use that as a strawman to make all sorts of false accusations and excuses. It's lame and disgusting." Golly Sixty! Did I say anything like that? Gee Whiz, Oldies, I'm just a dumb female. One of those "silly women" who is supposed to be easily led? How could I say anything so intelligent as to qualify as "gobbledygook?" :P--> Seriously, I think much, much more was impliedin that "teaching" than actually said. David was "a man after God's own heart." He had sexual intercourse resulting in conception with a woman named Bathsheba who was the lawfully wedded wife of Uriah, David's general. That sounds an awful lot like David committed adultery. So how can it be wrong for a man after God's own heart to commit adultery? Simple, really. He really didn't, and that's where the line "All of the women in the kingdom"...came in. And by the way, you never answered my question. Where is the exact, precise, specific verse that says "all of the women in the kingdom belong to the king"? Where? Book, chapter and verse, please. WG

Just out of curiousity....OM, you have vigorously condemned Imbus. What about the man? Do you think he was an innocent victim of a lustful woman? He was the one who was married, and held a position of some status and repute. Imbus didn't say, but he may well have been ordained, then or later. What of his abuse of his position of authority? And heck, yes, that teaching on David and Bathsheba was the key that opened the door. I remember being astounded for years about that. Since VPW was so keen on quoting verse, chapter and verse, where in Scripture does it literally say "All the women of the kingdom belonged to the king?" It doesn't. David was subject to the same Mosaic law as every other Israelite of his time. He broke the 7th commandment. Then he tried to hide the evidence. Then he committed murder for hire. WG

Ear candling/natural healing people help!
Watered Garden replied to Dot Matrix's topic in Health, Wellness, and Fitness
Dot, My son as a kid (and an adult for all I know) flatly refused to wash his ears. As a result he would get the mother of all wax collections. A doctor told me to put a generous amount of sweet oil in his ear, plug it gently with cotton, and in the morning the horrible nasty junk in his ear came out on the cotton, nicely softened by the sweet oil (which is incidentally a very very refined olive oil). Never heard of ear candling. the ringing sounds serious. You might want to stick to sweet oil. WG -

Who Was The Most Loving Non-Human in The Way?
Watered Garden replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
Boo-Boo (a nickname) was our dog for almost 13 years. He would politely greet each person, then lie down somewhere and wait for twig to be over so the refreshments could be served, including of course, to himself. He was picky about who he liked and didn't like, but kind and gentle with children, and with those who brought him food. He protected us fiercely when necessary, and was true to himself. A prince among dogs. WG -
Interesting Observation (or two) and a Question (or two)
Watered Garden replied to CoolWaters's topic in About The Way
CW, with GSC and its ancestor of sorts, WayDale, I learned that I was not alone in my anger and despair, that my situation was not unique but was part of a planned and orchestrated effort to get rid of as many people left over from TWI 1 as possible to make way for the perfected ones to cross over into the promised land of the prevailing word. (Their terminology certainly not mine.) In realizing this, I was able to realize that TWI did not represent God, Jesus, the Bible or anything at all except their own madness, thinly clothed in religiousity to look but not be respectable. I am extremely grateful to the moderators, administrators, owners whatever they are called of GSC for their efforts in my behalf. WG -
Dottie... At the outset of my involvement with TWI, (1973) sickness was not something that was officially condemned, at least not to the extent it was in later years. Probably the best balance of faith, healing, and medicine was at the Indiana University College of Medicine, where I worked, with a bunch of medical WOWs and my favorite general surgeon, whose secretary I was privileged to be (what an awkward sentence!) People were loved. They were treated medically into wellness, then taught that they could be well. A lot of it was practical - diet, exercise, fresh air, 8 glasses of water and prayer. People did not get clobbered with negatives if they were sick. We were learning and growing and our aim was to help people. It was in the early 90's that I noted the creeping malaise in the ministry that spelled the end of healthy love and the beginning of unhealthy condemnation of those who needed help with physical problems. By 1994 when I was diagnosed with diabetes, spit was flying at HQ regarding sickness. Shortly after I returned home from the hospital, a SNS tape began with the immortal sentence, straight from the sacred lips of the MOG himself: "If you have a chronic illness in your life, it is because you have chronic sin in your life." I guess HE was never sick a day in his life. BTW, the doctor I worked for, being very smart indeed, was no longer associated with TWI by the time this crap got in full swing. WG

3 Cents, i doubt very much if my friends thought ministering to people for healing or praying for them was hogwash. I myself have prayed for many, and seen deliverance including from death as a rseult. My own opinion is that by 1994 sickness had gone from being a result of our living in this present body of corruptible flesh, to a vile and loathsome sin itself, proof of humaness and sin in one's life. Can't ask God for help when we sinned against Him and thereby against tTWI and the MOGFODAT. Healing the heart was no longer important; perfecting the flesh was the present truth of the day. WG
-
actually I DO understand - I was born with a bad set of genes. I'm a human being. It's corruptible flesh. Trefor, I would survive maybe a week without insulin. WG
-
In 1994 I was diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes. I never formally was shrieked at about it, but... The sister of the then Mrs. MOGFODAT asked me, "Do you understand what it is that you did that caused this (diabetes) to happen to you?" I was told not to speak of it to anyone. When I was in the hospital at diagnosis getting my blood sugar regulated, it was during the ROA. Over a dozen friends visited me. Do you know how many offered to minister to me for healing? Or even pray for me? Not one. That was a red flag. WG

I got my Indiana State Employee retirement money while on the field. Several thousand. Gave 15% and put the rest into the household account of which I was the steward. We ate rather well. I can cook like a son-of-a-gun. We lived in furnished apartments, had nice dishes (mine). When money ran low or someone was out of work, my WOW sister forbade that person to eat anything purchased with household money until he/she acquired employment and presented the first donation to the account. I actually defied her by eating a mayonnaise and parmasan cheese sandwich with my bread and common mayo and parm. Boy did I get reproved! Luckily, my parents came to see me and gave me money. They were not impressed and begged me to come home with them. But then I would never have gone into Fellow Laborers of Ohio, met my Mr. Wonderful, etc etc. WG

Turn the lady in about the cat then operate a business out of her apartment... I swear, if these people are the prime example of what it means to be a Christian, I'd rather go to hell. But they are not. They are counterfeit. They are hypocrits. They are disgusting. I am so happy to not have ever met them. YUCK!

Happy birthday, Dougie! WG -
My personal opinion is that if this film is reaching people with the message of the Gospels, that The Lord Jesus Christ suffered, was tortured, crucified, died and raised from the dead for them, that they might be saved, then it really doesn't matter why Mel did it. Thank God he did. WG

While I never got a letter of this kind, it sounds to me, and I've read the damn thing on this site or that, like y'all were being asked to stand with LCM whether he did "The Word" or not. My personal take is that it was more the kind of loyalty oath Sad Dam Hussein required of his followers than anything anyone required of a believer. Look at the gospels - Jesus never back his disciples into a corner and demanded that kind of a loyalty oath. He even forgave Judas for betraying Him. Just a simple observation from a former mere humble peon of a believer - now free from the chains of TWI x nearly 8 years! WG

Holy Moley, Catcup! Maybe someone should write a book "The Way Living in Chains" or something?

There's a DVD? Can I get it from Amazon or something? 2Life tipped me to this, but I have never actually seen it. Just the trailer, which soothes the savage beast I sometimes want to become while at work! ;)--> WG

Pat & Dave? WHAT FIRE????? WG

Yeah, come to think of it, you're right. They taught it was a stake and His arms were crossed over His head. I think this is one of the forest for the trees things.... WG

Sunny1, it was in the motion picture. No it is not in God's Rightly Divided Word according to usage and held forth in the Exceedingly Great and Glorious Light of the Present Truth, which God in His infinite wisdom chose to reveal only to His Man For This Day and Time and Hour, the exceedingly Reverend Mr. LCM. It was, in my opinion, used to illustrate Christ's willingness to die for us, rather than being forced to do so by the Devil, the Romans, or anyone else. If there is ever a motion picture made that rightly divides (whatever that means) according to TWI, then TWI will have to produce, direct, star in and finance it themselves, because nobody else believes the things they do. Wasn't that what the wonderful, glorious AOL was about?
