  1. I have been reading along. My question is doctrinal for sure. So what of all the Bible has to say of speaking in tongues? (please spare me quotes from previous posts and get to the nitty gritty )
  2. A tradition that is alive and well today.
  3. Not to answer for WS, but facebook has several groups that romanticize VPW. Then there is SOWERS. V2P2 has started his own version of TWI using the same formula his grandpappy used. It's a recipe for disaster.
  4. Ya, that was a tough pill to swallow when reality set in. I don't even tell people what I was doing during the time frame I was at HQ, except that I was working for a non-profit. I have yet to have one person ask what non-profit it was.
  5. Your welcome and thanks for the kind words. Glad I could be helpful.
  6. And the book of Acts has many records of Paul doing this very thing. From Synagogues to Mars Hill. He knew his audience and spoke to them in terms of their own understanding to explain the gospel to them. Cool.
  7. I feel ya. But remember that TWI used to have awesome music back in VPW's day and yet his inner circle of corruption was very much alive and well.
  8. Umm....let's not ignore the obvious. Many staffers are way corps and are assigned there. Otherwise, TWI is having all sorts of trouble getting people to come on staff. They have had to eliminate many, many positions through attrition in order to get departments to function at half speed. Appreciated? Nah.
  9. From my experiences, I think it's very individual. I knew people on staff who were still buying the party lines, operating on group think and cliches, and it was if any independent thought was off limits. I knew others who stayed because they didn't have any other viable income options. The folks that have been there the longest get paid higher, have 401k, a lot of vacation days, etc. So there is some incentive when you have nothing else. I am sure there are other reasons as well. There are people who come on staff after retiring from their careers and love it. So I guess it takes all kinds.
  10. Your welcome. I am spammed each month with his newsletter. Honestly, I endeavor to read it with an open mind and look for something uplifting. Too bad the good that he writes is grossly overshadowed by his blatant error. It's the same as the fishing bait being overshadowed by that big ugly hook.
  11. Ya, so he compares someone else's "error" to keep people in his own error. Nice.
  12. I was snared by Wierwille's systems in 96, long after he died. So his legacy lives on.
  13. Again from JAL and Fruit of D'vine So we can see he is setting us to rip into somebody's work and how inaccurate they are.... While I don't think we are in the tribulation, I have to wonder why JAL couldn't just pull inspiring, godly, attributes of this person's work to the forefront and go from there. But no, the folks who produced Stay Free don't understand, and JAL is here to set their listeners straight and herd them into his camp to hear his supposed flawless truth. And of course give copious amounts of their income. Or perhaps JAL learned of this other class series from some of his followers and needs to make sure they don't wander too far. Either way. I am so thankful I did not continue my life in the same mold as Wierwille. And that is exactly what JAL has done. Pitiful.
  14. From Fruit of D'vine: So let's cut to the chase. All this says to me is that TLTF is in it for the money, and the more money the better. JAL wants to stuff as much money into his organization as he can. End of story.
  15. There are sets of scales, called modes, that pick up on each respective note of the major scale. They are: Ionian - Major Scale Dorian - Constructed from the second note of a major scale Phrygian - "" Third note "" Lydian - "" fourth note "" Mixolydian - "" fifth note "" Aeolian - Minor scale..."" sixth note "" Locrian - "" seventh note "" When guitarist solo they follow the underlying chord structure by matching the scale to the chord. Chords are numbered 1-7 as well. I am over simplifying this, but you get the point. Now tell me....what is so evil about any of them? Nothing. It's pure ignorance on TWI's part to try and keep most songs sounding "upbeat" --- which usually is in the Major key. I studied music at Musicians Institute, played professionally in LA - NYC. When I was way corps they knew I could play guitar at a very high level. They put me in charge of grounds when I graduated. Genius, no? Rosalie does not want competent musicians in way prod because Wierwolfe taught her that good musicians always get egos. Whenever I heard her talk about this she would reference Pressed Down, and how Wierwille had a blow out with them and had them taking out the garbage the next day. Meaning in all of my drivel? ===-- Way productions sucks because there is slim talent that is squelched by Rozilla.
  16. Like everything else she manages, Rosie micromanages the crap out of way productions. I think she has no musical background either, besides what she learned from WierWolfe, if you can count that. Way production is a direct reflection of Rosalie, as it the STS. Boring, stale, lifeless, utterly awful.
  17. ROFLMAO! I understand the most easily attached object used by devil spirits are largish foreheads.
  18. There were quite a few, but probably not as many as Wierwille wanted. There was a teaching series on Romans that was taken from The Just and the Justifier, by Charles Welsch. I mean taken almost word for word with key words changed. Sound familiar?
  19. Absolutely. They still teach that spirits attach to objects and can move into your home on them.
  20. There are no job descriptions for cabinet positions, unless they invented them since I left. Doing a good job was totally arbitrary to being in Rosalie's good graces. It was explained to me when I brought this up that it was that way by design.
  21. I don't think there is anything wrong with the songs we sang in and of themselves, though I always felt corny being a part of it. From my perspective, it was the whole lifestyle of being treated like a kid, of which the songs were a part. Separate the songs from the whole TWI experience and I have no qualms.
  22. And for the average follower the abundant life was a WOW mobile and sub standard rentals shared at least two to a bedroom.
