  2. lol thanks david... :D--> I think that if people do get involved it will turn out to be a great thing. I used to be in a group on the internet to lose weight and it really did work well. We talked about a lot of stuff that really surprised me that turned out that was something that was stopping me from being healthy. It was a mind block. I really had a lot of fun!!! So hopefully, people will join.
  3. Hello all, I started a site for people who need support for maintaining or losing weight. A lot of people dont realize that they need support in other areas in order to lose weight. This is a membership that is only ok'd by me so that everyone can feel safe. People can't sign in and see the messages unless they are a member. This is also the place to post new diets or foods that really are good but low fat or low on sugar. If I do get more membership there may be some contests and also articles about new and old research that has been done. As I said this is not just about losing weight it is a support group for maintaining and becoming more healthy and ways we can do it. Sometimes that means giving emotional support in our lives. The site is http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/weightlossupport/ I hope to see a lot of you there and have some fun!!!!!! :)--> :)--> :)-->
  4. The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play. "Here's a copy of the service," he said impatiently. "But, you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances." During the service, the minister paused and said, "Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up." At that moment, the substitute organist played 'The Star Spangled Banner'. And that is how she became the regular organist.
  5. Hey my parents are even planning on moving here to minnesota because it is so much cheaper to live than in most places. Of course they won't be here during the winter time...I honestly don't blame them. I'm getting to the place I'm ready to go down south for the winter too.
  6. LOL yes, but I would also want to see you guys...I love teens btw. Maybe I'll bring my 14 year old son. He would love that...lol Just kidding. I just found out though today that I have to have surgery august 18th. When is the party? I will be out of work for a couple of weeks so it might be tight financially for me then. We will see.
  7. The Way Children See Things! NUDITY I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when a Woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from the back seat, "Mom! That lady isn't wearing a seat belt! HONESTY My son Zachary, 4, came screaming out of the bathroom to tell me he'd dropped his toothbrush in the toilet. So I fished it out and threw it in the garbage. Zachary stood there thinking for a moment, then ran to my bathroom and came out with my toothbrush. He held it up and said with a charming little smile, "We better throw this one out too then, 'cause it fell in the toilet a few days ago. OPINIONS On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a Note from his mother. The note read, "The opinions expressed by these children are not necessarily those of his parents." KETCHUP A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup to come out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the phone. "It's the minister, Mommy," the child said to her mother. Then she added, "Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle." MORE NUDITY A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement and then asked, "What's the matter haven't you ever seen a little boy before?" ELDERLY While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. The various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs, unfailingly intrigued her. One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, "The tooth fairy will never believe this!" DRESS-UP A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, "Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit." "And why not, darling?" "You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning." SCHOOL A little girl had just finished her first week of school. "I'm just wasting my time," she said to her mother. "I can't read, I can't write and they won't let me talk!" BIBLE A little boy opened the big family bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. "Mama, look what I found", the boy called out." What have you got there, dear?" With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, "I think it's Adam's underwear"
  8. I had the perfect job at the ROA. The registration tables to get in the rock. Loved it, got to see everyone coming through. I loved the rock. It was probably what kept me in for so many years. As time went on though it seemed that the people that I would run into wasn't as exciting as before. These people had changed. It wasn't the 'love bombing' as in the seventies. Every august even now I think of the ROA. Wish there was something similar that we all could meet. But I think that is most likely impossible. The one thing I hated the most about ROA was the song 'Beautiful Ohio'. Gawd, that voice. I wish I would have thought of ear plugs. That would have helped.

    Naming Names.

A lot of us may have done some things in twi that we aren't proud of that maybe hurt someone in what we thought was the name of God. Twenty or thirty years later having a family and grandchildren I would not want my name being talked about in that fashion. I think our life stories can be told without the names.
  10. Whitedove, I know that you usually aren't so judgemental. At least while I had chatted with you for a couple of years now. Your posts give off that you are the one with the know and that everyone else is going away from christianity. It certainly does give off that you are the martyr. Maybe it has to do with being a parent. Before I had children I was very judgemental about what I would allow my kids and what I wouldn't allow. My kid would never do this as I see a kid having a temper tantrum in the store. LOL Low and behold I have kids and guess what? Temper tantrum galore. I had a strong willed child with a mind of her own. Thats what I get for being judgemental...lol Came back full force. Maybe this stuff does not interest you as it does interest others. You say you glanced at the book in a store. Which means that you couldn't have given it much time as most people don't spend hours in a book store. In twi we learned that everything was spiritual. We were looking around every corner for devil spirits. My son is into the books. Yesterday, a friend of his that is having a very hard time in school and never opens up a book found that these books he loves to read. I was openly surprised with him and thought if it can get one kid to read that wouldn't ever open up a book otherwise it has done a good job. I haven't read the books myself because I'm not really interested in it but I have seen the movies and it was fascinating. I can understand all the hoopla. Please reconsider and look deep within yourself to see if its still a little bit of twi in there. I know I have to look within myself at times as twi was so ingrained for a better part of my younger life.
  11. Thanks steve for the invite. I will seriously think about it. It depends on if I can afford it. Hopefully, by august I should be. Is it on a weekend?

((((((Excie))))) I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you are going through some very mixed feelings right now and I'm praying for you. It is hard for one to dislike someone that was suppose to be there for you for years of things they did. Then on day the person is sick and dying and you realize that you do love them even though they did some things to you that was not good. I'm sure you realize that its perfectly natural for you to have the feelings and emotions that you are going through. Don't fight it. Its ok to feel the way you feel and to mourn the loss of what was or could have been. As far as the reiki nurse, I'm sure that there are crockpots in all organizations and religions. I know one reiki person that I've spent time with that would never do such a thing as that nurse did and I'm sure that reikilady here probably would never do it either. Its good that you reported her so that others don't suffer the ordeal of what your family went through. My heart goes out to you!!!!! Sending love and comfort your way!!!!
  15. I'm sorry for the derail bluzieQ. I think sometimes we were taught with twi that we had to stand up and let them know the 'truth'.
  16. What kind of message did you send to your kid? Well, I would have kept quiet and then when we left explained to my child that sometimes to de esculate a situation is to walk away from it. Sometimes the best way is to ignore the idiots. They look more stupid if no one responds.
  17. Wha Wha Johniam, look whose whining now? I know I'm only hearing one side of the story about the store but one thing that really stood out to me was that you were excorted out the door too. I have a question for you. Did the black man start calling you names that were racial or did you bring up that he was being biased? I still remember what you said about you believing a woman should be struck. I don't have much respect with that nor other opinions that you have.

    Christmas

My kids used to go camping with their grandparents and the place they went camping had Christmas in July. Santa came on a tractor and gave out gifts. Of course the family purchased the gifts before hand and gave it to the camp ground for Santa. My kids LOVED it as with many other kids that were there. I was there one time and have to admit that that it was rather fun and exciting watching santa coming on a tractor with the gifts. The kids came running after him.
  21. Krys, I enjoy that one too, Krys. I don't think I will like the martha stewart one though. She is so BORING!!!!
  22. Mr. Ham, I totally agree with your points. ITs like come and say it already. Otherwise my hearing is not there.
  23. Exactly, Kris...whenever someone tells me they would like to talk to me after I'm done whatever I'm doing I try to think about what did I do wrong? It comes from twi and being 'talked' to after I was done.
  24. ok I just started a weightloss support group on yahoo. I don't know what I'm doing but its open...lol Here it is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/weightlossupport
