Maybe I am missing something --but the last I heard they have hospitals in jails, or at least infirmiraries [sic]. People serve time with cancer, diabeties and a host of other diseases. Are we to believe that somehow Ms Hilton's illness is of such a unique character that it could not be addressed in the penal system???

Yeah the cash talked--shame on the State of California which, to avoid having to pay her medical bills, turned her loose. The important thing, IMO, was for her to serve her time in that very unpleasent atmosphere of the penal system in the hopes that she would begin to realize that she needed to think about the consequences before acting.

Now that opportunity is gone, once again her folks have come to her rescue and spared their "little girl" from having to face the music.

How very sad for Paris, her parents are making her a ethical cripple by shielding her. People , no matter their economic status, do their children a great diservice by protecting them from the realities of cause and effect.

Well it appears she just got out of jail and will spend the rest of her time at home with a monitoring device. The news said it is due to illness, which cannot be discussed. Any other joe blow citizen would have served six months at least for doing what she did. It must be nice to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth. She served all of 5 days.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Her illness is that she went into papparazzi withdrawal, a very severe condition for socialities. :evildenk:

She was probably having a mental breakdown, which considering her previous state, might have been "real". She served 5 days in jail, and will "fulfill" the rest at home. I'm not sure if that qualifies as "serving" ... but she does have to "serve" the full 45 days now, in luxury.

For those paying closer attention, she served THREE days, but somehow (wussy jailers certainly are NOT from Joe Arpaio's team) got credit for five.

Yes, she was probably having a mental(emotional) breakdown... but gimme a break. If she can't take that, she shouldn't be driving at all.

My hunch is that the wussy jailers were a-feared a gittin sued for cruelty. They KNEW the Hilton's could and would afford the best attorneys and doctors to badger the system...

What a freakin excuse for humanity (I mean the Hilton family).

it's a liberal thing to let her out imo

You are INSANE.

How you can inject you're wingnut perspective into this is anybody's wild guess.

Hey there Rocky. :)

We were watching a news channel (I BELIEVE it was MSNBC --- not sure)

at work today, and this was the explanation they offered concerning the 3 vs. 5 days.

She went in late one day, spent three FULL days there, and left early on the 5th day.

Given her *status* (and most likely LOT'S of daddy's money/ influence) -- it was counted as 5 days.

Shucks -- those jailers should be hired by main stream Christianity,

for a biblical research team or something.

They already know how to find the validity of 3 days and 3 nights ---

from Friday night to Sunday morning!!!

UPDATE

LA prosecutor wants Paris back in jail

Will she stay or will she go?

Hours after Paris Hilton was sprung from jail and placed under house arrest for an unspecified "medical condition," the Los Angeles City's Attorney's Office wants to send her back.

Prosecutors filed court papers Thursday evening with the judge who originally sentenced the heiress to 45 days in jail requesting that the country sheriff's department return her to custody and that the department show cause as to why it shouldn't be held in contempt of court for letting her go, or "reassigning" her, in the first place. (Read the order here.) (continued)

I'd call this an interesting development.

IF there is a "liberal" influence involved (yes, lukewarmchef, I'm talking to you), it's in what the LA City Prosecutor's office is doing to right the pansy a$$ sheriff's goof up.

And yes, Dave, I heard that (lame) explanation too. It's complete nonsense, IMO.

Ya know, there's a plausible link to the sheriff and the prosecutor working in concert to do this...

The sheriff's office can be sued (at least they get sued often here in Maricopa County, AZ), but the prosecutor and the judge CANNOT (if my understanding is correct) be sued... so, this all might be a ruse to head off any potential Hilton threat to sue.

Oh, I agree completely that it's both lame AND nonsense.

I was merely letting you know, in case you hadn't heard it.

And looking over the last link you provided ---

it IS getting interesting!

Paris Hilton was just ordered back to jail in Lynwood to serve out the remainder of her sentence! She'll get credit for 5 days already served.

Hilton left the courtoom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom."

One witness described the scene as: Paris was "physically escorted" out of the courtroom by a female deputy.

Hilton's mother was later seen pacing the hallways, telling reporters, "I'm paralyzed right now." Rick is still in the courtroom.

This was a colossal waste of tax payers' money to begin with - and then she gets let out and now back in...

Joe Citizen just woulda be in, done his time and then out...

No, of course this has to be a media circus... and I bet we'll be hearing about it for years to come when her book comes out....

Oh, gag.

Whether it's positive or negative publicity, I bet she is just lapping it up, she loves being at the centre of attention, she's getting exactly what she wants, the whole world paying attention to her!!

Cowgirl

Oh, I figure that right now she doesn't like it... but AFTER the 45 days are over, she'll surely exploit it.

She's screaming because nobody has ever had the balls to tell her "NO" before. As a child, how much ya wanna bet she got whatever she wanted just by throwing a tantrum. And I'D bet that judge figures the exact same thing. Which is why 45 days should be enough to get her freakin attention.

On THAT point, I saw where FOX NOISE's John Gibson actually said that Al Sharpton got it right! Sharpton, who's always quick to point out racism whereever there's the least bit of a hint of it, rightly pointed out that no young black woman, age 25 and in the pokie for DUI/parole violation would EVER be let out after just THREE days. Well, of course no young black woman would... unless she's rich like Paris.
