Corps Indoctrination: Twisted

There I was.....

Sitting in the BRC (in 1980?) during one of those corps-sharing times......only THIS time, vpw had five or six corps up front who had returned from The Tracker School. After plenty of preliminary stuff.....ie the inrez corps guy led off with his spiel for about 10 minutes, letting wierwille sit back until the meeting got going.....then wierwille starts. He talks about the importance of learning, learning from anyone who is an expert in their field and all that. Thus, he felt it was important for these corps to attend The Tracker School.

Well......all was fine as the corps shared some of the neat things they had learned.....UNTIL one LEAD-type corps guy shared how this Tracker Guy was amazing!! In fact, his perception and awareness of his surroundings, and life itself, was truly jaw-dropping. This Tracker Guy was unbelievable.....etc. SUDDENLY.....wierwille lashes into this corps guy with a vicious venom that I'd never seen before. Wierwille was livid.......and all of us in the BRC were stunned by his outlandish outbursts!!!

As this venom escalated, wierwille glared at this corps guy and said that he was POZZEZZED......yep, he has spirits in his braincells. The corps guy stood his ground. It seemed like everyone in the BRC had stopped breathing. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife. In public view, wierwille was on the spot.....and this corps guy didn't seem to flinch. What was wierwille to do???? Yell some more......visibly fume.....and stomp out.

You tell me what you think about wierwille.....and I'll tell you ANOTHER side of the man.

:evildenk:

At a similiar type of sharing at Emporia, one gal was sharing on "the Tracker guy" and how sharp he was. She said something to the effect that he knew how to sneak up on someone. Vp was at lunch that day and all of a sudden we heard him come over a separate mike,

"He could never sneak up on me. Father would tell me." The woman just shut up and looked embarassed. The reason for her sharing had just been taken away from her.

Not the same kind of face-melting, but still quite embarassing.

It didn't matter what he was promoting because ultimately vp was always promoting himself.

The tracker was a great guy-until vpw had to share the spotlight with him, then there was trouble....

...and yet people think we were in some sort of "special" club...

"Special"? Hmmmm...it was special alright, just not in the manner that some folks believe.

What a douche. =/

WordWolf, I read things like what you just wrote and I am so thankful I got out when I did. I only had 2 incidents when I was in the Corps and told leadership that if they didn't like it to throw me out. I had one other incident with Craig spitting in my face about a year or two after I left TWI. I had taken witnesses to see Craig because of problems they were having with the leader in their area. It was the first time I had seen Craig like that - I left before they all got totally crazy. I'm thankful. I read some of the stories here and I'm horrified and embarrassed that leadership became the way they did.

I also read stories where a lot of the leaders out in the field stayed sane and protected their people and some didn't. What a mess and what devastation - terrible.

I don't know Outfield... that was after my time (81?)... in the late 70's he was just beginning to be talked about... there's a lot of great knowledge and wisdom in the first two books The Tracker and the second one (although I don't remember the name)... he's also written a number of field/survival guides...

Why did ya'll get sent to "The Tracker" school? And then told you were possessed or ridiculed. . . if they encouraged it?

I'm confused.

I'd suppose vp looked to add something "cool" in the corps program, but it had to be in light of him being the great master of all. The concept of bringing in experts on various subjects to teach for a few days is interesting, but vp couldn't be outdone ... so he had to claim MOGFOT status over any threat.

The guy that did the astronomy work on JC Our Promised Seed ran into conflicts somewhere ... he obviously knew a ton more than VP, but something had to be VP's way, I forget now. It seems that was a big issue, but somehow twi claimed ownership and published the book, with VP's name on it..

I'm sure many good innovative people and ideas were stomped out because they conflicted with these top dog egos.

To claim cult status you have to have the mog in front.

Tom Brown came to HQ to run his school in Dec. of 80.

A few had gone to New J to take it before he came.

VP was at HQ at that time for a few days because it was during the

time the Christmas party was there.

It was a fun school. I was raised a very much out door kind of guy and

still love it to this day.

VP could go off at anything that took away from he being the head.

I guess JC had a time making his way in our lives.

VP would of and did knock him out of the lime light putting himself

and the word before him.

Interesting. I have college education and was told by my "leader" I was beginning to sound like the educated mumbo jumbo. I never try to out do myself, just speak my opinions and was told "be careful who I hang around." Which in turn means - screw college education.....

That never left me.......I was highly annoyed.

How ‘bout this for twisted...One corps meathead agreed with me that Beethoven and Mozart were indeed “geniuses”. That being the case, I was to consider the word ‘genie’ in the definition of their brilliance and consider whether when listening, the composers were not in fact possessed of the devil?

What was a little twig leaf like me to think? :(

Interesting, Bumpy.

When in rez we got (had) to watch a Michael Jackson video (Thriller??) and LCM said that there was something to learn in the way things were done if they were done well, even from worldly things. We were to look at Jackson's skill and ability in dancing and his "moon walking".

Now how much more weird can you get than Jackson? I don't think Mozart or Beethoven were in his category, really.

As if nothing worldly could be well done...

As if there are no skilled people out there who just like to do a really good professional job at whatever it is that they do...

When it came to vpw and people with more skill than him,

THERE WERE no skilled people out there who were good and weren't possessed!

There always had to be SOMETHING that invalidated them, and if it had to be made up, so be it...

vic was a mean-spirited, alcoholic........imo........a sociopathic, narcissistic, serial sexual predator who "got off" playing with people's lives in order to satisfy his own sadistic perversions

DWBH=Haaaaaaa I love it.

You hit the nail on the head.

Not only was VP a control freak he also thought he was a pervert. It's about time most realized that too.

Hey Dooj=Maybe we need a new song -

"lock box, in your socks he's copping a feel, sneakin' in the bathroom door.

It's VP a pevert you see, all he wants to do is score once more.

In our day he'd be in jail.

Whatever I posted before this was simply a technical error.

What I wanted to say is....

Thanks to Don't Worry and

There is only one man I know that uses all those dots.....

Yeah........that about sums it up. <_<

From a man who "invented the hook shot" and gave the Ohio Transportation Department *his revelation on double-decker interstate system* and wrote a pamphlet on the dilema of foreign missions.........this narcisstic man was an unknown UNTIL he carjacked B.G. Leonard's class, his outreach center, his charcters in the class, his model for an independent ministry. And, even then..........it took H3fner and D00p to spark the fires of outreach.

Wierwille always had to stand on the top rung. No room for contemporary God-fearing men, no room for The Tracker, no room for wierwille's own research team...............if wierwille WASN'T in the spotlight, then it was time to move the stage somewhere else.

The corps indoctrination process showed me, up-close and personal, twi's CASTE SYSTEM.

Oh,yes, the tracker guy-

In 91, I took a survival class at Rome City, the guy that came was trained by Mr.Brown, he promoted his book as well.Brown has schools in 3 cities. I also remember them saying if the President ever got lost in the mountains that Mr.Brown would be sent to find him cause of his abilities to survive in the wild...

Once again, there I was......

Sitting in the Way Woods at the campfire area for another nightowl with wierwille (1981?).......the crackling of the fire, the chirping of the crickets, and wierwille smoking his shortie Kools and talking about the things of the ministry. Behind wierwille a short distance away, standing in the shadows along the treeline was his valet/bodyguard and go-fer......J1m Cr1m.

One of the major duties of vpw's side-man was to be in constant communication with his two-way radio. This communication helped to prepare others ahead of wierwille's movements, his change of plans, his up-to-date info on all pertinent information and added to the mystique of the mog. The radio, usually a wonderful asset in the mog's arsenal against evil BECAME a source of instant irritation!

In mid-sentence, wierwille was abruptly interrupted by the screeching radio on J1m's hip......yep, somehow, the volume was too high as other radio-bearers were communicating. In an instant, wierwille was peeved!! Right then and there, wierwille went off on J1m spewing his venom publically and belittling him up one side and down the other. It took a few minutes for wierwille to regain his composure, but I assure you........the nightowl was over even though the corps coordinator tried to soften things before sending us on our way.

The next morning...........J1m was long gone. One mistake, one public verbal lashing and the personnel landscape around wierwille changed once again.

Oh my goodness. Are we the Pres of the USA or something???

prepare others ahead of wierwille's movements

The greatest leader is the greatest servant - so would this preparation be to make sure there were crowds of people who might be sick - perhaps so that they could be healed by touching the hem of his robe, or his shadow falling upon them? :biglaugh:
