We used to call my niece "duck butt" because her diaper and the way she walked looked kinda like a duck. Maybe in Howie's case someone dropped the butt part.2 points

Yep.. they are planning grey squirrel genocide.. some say Benjamin Franklin introduced the grey squirrel to Britain.. others say they were imported in the Victorian era to "amuse" the aristocracy.. then the yankee squirrels did what yankee squirrels do.. reproduce like a plague.. warning: the article is silly, but factually correct. Best I can tell anyway.. http://www.scarysquirrel.org/vacation/ukcull/index.html I also understand that the greys carry a form of "squirrel pox" that the red squirrels cannot develop immunity to..2 points

I dunno. I have had three or so said "prophecies".. all were personal dreams, pre twi days.. two of them have occured.. and when they played out, it was like watching a movie unfold having pre-read the script.. the last one, hasn't happened. I keep looking.. I'd repeat it here, if anyone thinks they might have a clue..2 points

OK Bolshevik. Spill the beans.. the only picture I get of this scene is a well past middle aged half drunken.. whatever.. blasting away in the woods with something like an eight or ten gauge shotgun (just the enough spread of shot to insure "victory") to rid the holy land of Squirrel infestation. Tell me it isn't true..1 point

In the mid or late nineties LCM declared the word Christian a derogatory term. We were 'believers.' He claimed the term Christian in the bible was what the unbelievers called the believers. I do believe that a wafer family changed the name of a child--he had been named Christian. But when I first got involved we called ourselves Christians--but a new, better type of Christian in our long and detailed explanations.1 point

If you said that I don't remember. I've heard the phrase "they [twi] claim to be christian" numerous times, and not just on this website, but at least one or two others. . . so I don't think you spoke too hastily.1 point

Heh.. no, I figured that out the moment I walked out of mr. he whose claim to fame is not eating bread and vegetables together limb coordinator's office. It's been a few years.. I usually don't use these kind of words.. but he was (probably still is) a friggin moron.. As leadership, and as it goes for human beings in general, he was probably about as spiritually and intellectually inept as they had to offer.. in one brief moment, I realized we were following fruitcakes..1 point

what I was referring to didn't involve any other person.. happened before twi days. I can't think of a single twi induced "prophecy" that ever really panned out.. this suggests to at least me personally.. nothing of any real spiritual significance was generated by the "founder" of twi or those at the root to begin with.. just a lot of vain boasting and such..1 point
-
Just a nickname he picked up here. I have no idea what the significance is, or even where it started.. Maybe its because someone figured he had the brain of the size of a duck's? who knows..1 point

And. . . they are surely not anything remotely close to Christians IMO. I told you they claimed to be Christian Bolsh. . . I may have spoken too hastily. It was in response to your questioning the use of scripture in a thread about TWI. I used it to point out they actually do the opposite of what they claim to follow, but you have a valid point. . . do they claim to be Christian? I always called myself a Christian in TWI. Just not a carnal Christian like those sneaking in the backdoor, but not sitting in the living room. I didn't often hear the term used in a derogatory manner, but the "others" who claimed to be Christian. . . they were maligned. Looking back, I did hear a few rants about the term. . . I think it was more because it was associated with the others who are called Christian. . .the dreaded and evil trinitarians. The one's it was acceptable to mock with abandon. Whatever they call themselves. . . . . TWI does claim an odd form of sola scriptura as their way.1 point

Now if I understand you right Bramble I have to agree. Folks talking about having an f'in spider crawling out of their nose, cobweb imagery, and other creepy tangents, and it is all suppose to be normal!? But as a bystander I never understood why these types of things came up, nor do I now see the profit in sharing images and references to these things among a few informed folks while the rest of us just have to deal with the creepy imagery. Personally I would be up for either simply clarifying the reason for these images or even better, having a full and open consideration of these things. and since this is the Greasespot Cafe, I would just expect to have differing opinions expressed. I like that aspect of GSC, that is a lot better to me than having some TWI style, puffed up, and deluded leader telling everyone else what is or isn't true. I've had personal prophecies given me that not only didn't come true, but looking back it seems plain that if they had come to pass would have simply sucked me into some "prophet's" own personal private agenda party that was done in God's name. In "River Road Fellowship" one supposed prophet said that God's judgement would be poured out on the U.S. by winter, I don't remeber if that was six or seven years ago. But since it didn't contradict Barnard's latest false prediction of when the Lord would return it was presented to the group, publically, as a true revelation. Of course the supposed prophet did not like me. Once I tweaked him by pointing out that my thinking was geometric in nature after he said his was linear. Of course that one had him scouring his Corps notes only to discover that "geometric thinking" was indicative of great leaders according to Corps doctrine. (hehehe) While linear thinking made for great followers. Looking back I consider that it was fun to tweak him with that b.s. Corps teaching, but I think that this guy always held it against me. And of course he once accused his wife of "LOOKING AT ME". And another of his visions had as a major component "a large pile of rollerblades", I'm not making that up. Those things had Barnard and his thuggish cretins looking for God's guidance for "River Road Fellowship." So because of my past, these types of things can get me worked up. But because I believe the scriptures I believe that such things may be good and genuine. But my experience has been in dealing with wannabe prophets and b.s. visions.1 point

It was on PBS yesterday, kinda like the European invasion of the Americas, bringing disease, and attacking the locals. Some British folk see some metaphor or something with the grays being boisterous and gluttonous like Americans, and the reds being sophisticated and dainty or something. The reds are okay to me, but our grays are just fine I think. And what's with calling HA a duck?1 point

you had to sign up for them, then later on you'd get a map outlining your tiny section of woods. You'd also get a list of instructions like don't shoot below 10' and don't shoot rosie never even saw a dang squirrel, course the next day they'd be everywhere one dude did use a shotgun, and got two in one outing H. @llen would keep a tally and announce the "winner" at lunch time. He'd also instruct the women not to pray for the squirrels. . . . Ham, you do hear about what going on across the pond between the English Reds and the American Grays?1 point

Having myself been on several squirrel hunting expeditions into the WayWoods, the reason I always heard given was to "thin out the Jimmies". I guess there's a small squirrel in Ohio known as a "Jimmy". Supposedly this dastardly little cretin has a habit of biting the testicles off of the larger Gray and Fox squirrels. Or so said the emminent outdoorsman, Mr. Allen. (I would suppose that only the males of the species were the victims of such attacks) At any rate, every so often some of the WayBuilders would grab their shotguns and - with the previously garnered blessing of Mr. Allen - head off to the woods to selectively harvest some nuisance critters. I also went out to several other woods in the area to hunt Grays and Foxes and actually bar-be-qued a sizeable portion of said creatures on occasion. What else ya gonna do all winter?1 point

I mean.. isn't the whole "exercise" rather self defeating? Yep.. rid the woods of Squirrel *menace* to merely make room for more Squirrels? And remember, mr. duck. When you look over your shoulder, or in the rear view mirror, I am the one you missed..1 point

I'll tell you what was so sad about this whole spiders out the nose thing: The whole idea that having these thoughts (whether they be prophecy or dreams) constituted a "good" or "godly" thing. All this took place within the context of God sharing this information as a warning. No one, I mean NO ONE stopped and considered the ill effect of having, much less stating that they were having these kind of thoughts. It seemed to be all along the line of normal, natural discourse, which I guess was for them in their world.1 point

What is the purpose of having linder, his clone and the white vans? Really.. what is left on grounds that is even worth protecting? Normally, remote farmland in Ohio does not warrant this level of care. what's left.. the fountain? Are they afraid of aged hippie types making odd, unusual pilgrimages to the "holy" woods? maybe they are afraid of someone parking a non-authorized wowmobile in one of the parking lots, and leaking half a quart of oil or transmission fluid. perhaps they have tons of hoarded gold bullion on grounds.. maybe stockpiles of firearms, ammunition, long term food store..to protect. That would at least make sense. But I tend to think more that having some kind of security force present helps foster their illusion that they are anything but a second or third rate, insignificant pathetic little club.. Two local country clubs here.. who have more acreage, which is far more valuable than acreage in rural ohio, have no security force that I have ever seen. I've walked right across the golf course.. no white vans, no goons trying to run me off.. no calls to the sheriff or police.. I suppose one could ask linder. What possible reason do they want to secure something that resembles a gold plated turd, more than a treasure? he'd probably answer.. "it's a living.."1 point

I did not think this would be necessary to say in the doctrinal section, but I would greatly appreciate NO flippant remarks. This is why I posted this question here and not in the Open forum. This question is really bugging me, I know we have some great minds on GS, who are very thoughtful and know God's Word, and it's disappointing to get blessed to see somebody took the time to respond only to find a remark that makes it sound like I'm a dope for reaching for an answer in a section that is supposed to be for doctrinal issues. Please have some respect. I'm asking this question seriously. Wheather or not somebody else believes in God is their personal thing and not what this question is about. cman: I thought in Jerimiah, that verse is talking about mans inability to change without God. And I know the lion and the lamb thing, but that doesn't mean to me that satan is included in that. The Word suggests just the opposite. That he is damned. Oh gee, I don't know. This is frustrating me! :)1 point

It is rough tho here in the apple town. I have a position that does not require a college degree , out of 11 staff we have two master degree's and 6 of us have various other degree's that leaves three without any 'higher" education and they have all been here over thirty years each. We need them the most actualy! Although it is not a job requiremment, the post states no degree needed, the director interviews graduates first . We are just idiots for the state. Some feel well I went to school for this and must do that only. good luck. real world will tell you different. I actualy have been offered a position in what I went to school for, much less money, unsecure psoition and other factors told me to turn it down. I talk with those actualy "doing" the work I went to school for and they are most miserable and afraid, Im happy with my choice and I do not think I would have gotten this job without the degree opening the door. In my psoition one must work for two years before they will hire you.. weeds out anyone in it for a alternitive reason. probably why we get paid much more. In human service they fly in and out like the wind, I do not want to live like that . This is why so many move back in with mom and dad post graduation , a very unstable economy.1 point

Craig Ferguson has figured out why everything sucks. It has to do with the shift from respect for elders to deification of youth. This clip is from his show on July 21. The ROA was discontinued by LCM. He was upset by all the "screwing around" (literally) going on at the Rock by some teenagers. (For exmple: Corp week was being called "Score week"). I think he axed it because some kids were "making out" better than him.1 point

Hey Mark Clarke, it's good to have an opportunity talk with you here at GSC. I'm going to quote a section of text here and maybe it'll help us. Here goes. Psalms 138:2: I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou has magnified thy word above all thy name. God has magnified His Word above His Name. It does not say that about the stars or the planets. He set His Word above His Name for He underwrote it, He put His name underneath it. He guaranteed it. It is just like a check. When I write a check for a thousand dollars and I sign my name, the check is only as good as the signature. How good is The Word? The Word of God declares that it is as good as God for God signed His Name to it. The Word is as much God as God is God. What God said was, was, what God has said is, is, what God says will be, will be. Do you see why we must come back to the integrity and accuracy of God’s wonderful Word? We cannot trust man’s word because man blows about, being here today and gone tomorrow; but the Word of God “liveth and abideth for ever.” That Word endures. The text is taken from a magazine article Dr. Wierwille published back in late '75 entitled God's Word Endures Forever. You see Mark, many people are very intent on trashing Dr. Wierwille's name. Then ergo, what he wrote is no good. The trashing of Dr. Wierwille's name does a huge disservice to God's people and the ministry of reconciliation of Jesus Christ. It's not much unlike the day Jesus went to his home town and declared the Word to his own hometown folks. They just weren't having any. This is the apistia type of unbelief that we learned about. They thought they knew him but they really didn't. They wouldn't sit still long enough for the Lord to teach them. That's one of the reasons the Word Over the World Ambassadors were so successful on the field. How did they know what they were taught and were teaching was true? We just saw it in God's Word, believed it and walked out on it. It worked. It's a little bit like ice skating. You just lace up the skates and get out on the ice. At first you look like a jerk and fall down a lot. But you're determined and you stay with it. Pretty soon you're gliding around the rink with greatest of ease. You're feeling pretty good and it's fun. Just some food for thought.1 point

The law of believing has nothing to do with "mind power". It doesn't have anything to do with: "believing in the promises of God and His willingness to perform them" either, although for the Christian even I would like to think it should be that way, but very often it is not. If the law of believing rested solely on: "the promises of God and His willingness to perform them" then God's will would always be done. There are many instances where His will won't be done. Why? Because man has free will and God can never overstep a man's free will. Of course, in the same manner, man can never overstep God's will. God wills one to be prosperous and be in health, but it is clearly evident not everyone is prosperous and/or healthy. While prosperity and health could be one's desire, it may not be one's will. As ludicrous as it might sound, there are people who desire prosperity and health but it is something not within their will, and there is a difference between one having the desire for something and one having the will for something. Here is some food for thought for you 'biblical researchers'. Why did Jesus commend the centurion for having 'great faith', while he pretty much reproved his own disciples for having 'little faith'. The record of both accounts are in Mathew 8. The record of the centurion having great faith begins in v.5 and the disciples having little faith starts in v.23. I don't think the centurion was the one hanging out with Jesus all the time, but his disciples likely were. Shouldn't it have been the disciples who had the greater faith since they were the ones hanging out with the Lord, listening to the promises of God and His willingness to perform them, etc. etc., etc.? The question is, Why did Jesus rebuke his disciples in that record for having "little faith", while at other times he commended those having "little faith"? I don't think it had much to do with "the size, the quantity, whom someone hung with, etc, etc." or anything else. It probably had a lot more to do with as to what they had to say about something as opposed to what they didn't say though.1 point
