  1. Just wanted to hear the echo of this one, E. :)--> A memory shook loose... At a statewide TC meeting in the mid 90s, I was instructed to keep the single women "from seeking sexual needs from men outside the purity of the household," wink, wink. And to teach my fellow single men to do the same thing. A memory telling of many things. -->
  2. And I'd rather have a compass than a map, any day. Because a map can only take you to where dragons wait on the edge of the wilderness. A compass can lead you into and through the wilderness. :)-->
  3. Unless DNA is able to be "re-written" by thought, purpose and intent. ?
  4. Nice thread Song. You rok. A few thoughts... Awesome. And then some. :)-->Within each of us is the power of light, air, water, fire, lightning, earth, vegetable and animal. Like a garden of Eden, complete with hookah-smoking caterpillars and smiling cats. ;)--> IMO, the best way to walk on water/get out of the water is to become a fish and get eaten by a duck. Though part of ya gets pooped back out, part of ya becomes the duck. :P--> Viola! - Evolution/revolution. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, right? IMO, its because we wrestle so hard against being born again of pneuma hagion. We resist death unto our death, just as a baby often tries NOT to come out. I think the physical healing of blindness and raising from the dead is reserved as a sign of those who walk a path quite beyond the usual experiences (even if ours are bonified glimpses of the supernatural). Maybe that's why it hasn't happened often enough to finally escape the realm of myth and legend and heresay and enter into the realm of "science" and rational provable fact. What else is new? But I think any occurance or experience of it serves to illustrate that greater sense of death and blindness, as in how Lightside expressed it so clearly, which is the sense that matters forever (if it has, indeed, even happened to any of us, in that fuller, most-often sought after sense). Blessed is the one whose healing is also a sign of much greater things. And who knows? Maybe DS did these wonderful things too. And he really is walking in the shoes of the apostles. I still long for the day to meet such a man, myself. Jesus had said that they could follow him, as he showed himself again. Just as one of the apostles did to John at Patmos. Walking, talking guy from "the other side." Also, I've read of men and women from all over the world who minister genuine healing, but who do not read the Bible or use the English words "Christ" or "God." As well as tongues, interpretation and the rest of the Pauline "mannies." When it comes to spirit, Love is more reliable than scripture. Though a compass works better with a map. ;)--> Sorry so rambling, all. Ramble on. Todd
  5. Lovecraft Strange Eons and such.
  6. Ok, I read a bit more, and saw something interesting. Kinda like you said, Mike. I think. Our understanding moves from manifestion to manifestion. Inward, until we learn them all and we can play them like strings of a harp. But tongues and interpretation are manifestions OUTSIDE. They are the music of the harp strings. But without those inner manifestations, the music is dead. Sure, VPW could pluck the strings, but he could not even discern the spirits of Christ and of God from something "evil." And he spazzed out and distorted Paul's writings, which I doubt were even the meat of what Paul understood and taught. Not even to the Ephesians. IMO, none of the epistles reveal the mystery of Christ. But maybe VP had glimpses of things, like a kid peeking through a hole. Or hoping for a cookie from whom he thought was a taskmaster. Which we learned from Jesus is fine, too. God doesn't waste. Men do. And so that single talent is always given to another. VP was the guy who was given one talent and buried it. Maybe because he liked holes so much, I guess. :o--> ummmm....not sure if I explained myself very well.
  7. LOL! Zix :P--> Too cool. I was guessin. :D--> I'd like to see a directory of literary languages someday. Wonder how that language tree looks on paper. Hey Mike! Howzit goin? Not sure what to say to all that anymore. The more you "widdle it down to the truth" the more branchless it becomes. Good to see you've had a few epiphanies, though. =^..^= meow!
  8. Boo! :)--> Never know whose sitting around in the dark wit ya. Sounds like Ctulu, Oak. Or something-ulde. ... I love this subject. Tongues. (mwah, Ex) Angels and men have spoke in tongues since before Babylon. Like how flames taste the air, tongues of angels taste spiritual fruit. And its no figure of speech. Its getting clearer and clearer to me that all VP ever taught was tongues of men. Like music without meaning...semi-wonderful, but meaningless. Purposeless. Like a cloud without water. or a seed that was afraid to die. And all the hype over Pentecost is over-simplified, like a kid with a porno mag thinkin heez in complete control (Like most of modern pseudo-rational Christianity and industrial science, I suppose). But watch out! I heard it makes you go blind. ;)--> Todd
  9. I know, I know, Song. But I tell ya, its on my list ever since ya mentioned it. But "Illusions" I have read (awesome). And the first Hitchhikers Guide (but too long ago to even remember why it was a good book). btw - I have found that "Fantasy Fiction" is an easy way to avoid the common mix-up of genres. :D-->
  10. Oh yeah! Michael Moorcock (author's name even sounds like adult fantasy :o-->). This guy was writing, editing and publishing fantasy fiction as early as his teen years. And thanks for mentioning "Watership Down." It reminded me of another excellent series by Brian Jacques (sp?), beginning with the novel "Redwall." In fact, I suggest looking into this series more than anything else I've mentioned, Rottie. An awesome animal adventure in adult fantasy. Mice, rats, badgers, foxes, etc... Are the main characters.
  11. ooh! I just thought of a few more. Rottie, if you really want to read some adult fantasy lit, look into the uncensored Brother's Grimm. Classic stuff. Or any of the "Conan" series. Or Heavy Metal magazine. Even Lewis Carrol's "children's stories" are ripe with mature content, hidden in plain sight. And heerz a movie that you might like..."Fire and Ice." It was done by the guy who did the original animated Lord of the Rings, Ralph Bakshi, where he filmed actors, then animated over them. The movie was based on the work of a legendary fantasy artist and cartoonist, Frank Frazetta. Real Conan-inspired work. Swords and sorcery. Tasteful nudity. "Meaningful" violence. Religion and myth with an edge and a depth. And I think this is kinda cool... ALL of the background watercolors where done by two currently very famous artists/illustrators, Thomas Kinkade (Painter of Light) and James Gurney (the creator of Dinotopia). Fantasy fiction (or mythical fiction, as I like to call it, cuz I like a good redundancy) is one of the High Arts (when it is done well), IMO. Todd
  12. A lot of good suggestions here. I thought I'd mention Robert Aspirin's "Myth" series. Dry humor here too. C.S. Lewis, a close friend of Tolkien. Anthologies of short fantasy stories, or short fantasy fiction Magazines offer a lot of variety. But only half the mag racks seem to carry them. Worth a look. :)-->
  13. Post on, Thom. Good words. Patience, MJ. I've felt and sometimes feel this way too. With family, friends, and ex-WAY friends. But it helps me to think of how life is big, and it is never over. The rain has a way of finding the sea, and coming back down again. What you should do? Think of how its gonna feel when this reunion takes place, and happens just as Thom said. Hope for it. It will help get you through the pain of waiting more than blaming yourself will. And don't worry about those you led in. No one stops coming to crossroads in life. Sorry to sound so positive. But I am being as real as I can be. :)-->
  14. Honest question: How was VPW (or whomever was responsible for the idea) right when he said that his version of SIT was proof of born again?
  15. I wish you the best on your birthday, Zix. Peace, bro. Todd
  16. "The Evil Dead" - tacky creepy chills from the days of claymation. Its amazing how low budgets seem to make movies freakier. And speaking of window panes. "Little Shop of Horrors" was actually a frightening trip. ;)--> And of course, my favorite haunted house ghost story was the one that was not in a movie (I've told the story here before). Too bad the house was flattened. It'd make a fitting place for one freaky halloween slumber party. Oh yeah, I just saw the movie version of the novel "Dreamcatcher" by Stephen King. Will make you scared of toilets. [This message was edited by sirguessalot on October 31, 2003 at 17:48.]
  17. Hi Ariel. I responded to your Private Topic. Hope it helps. Todd
  18. Peace back atcha, JB. :)--> That seems an uncommon view of the transformation from Eden to Pentecost, though not without a nice harmony. I believe that every seed ever planted by God was planted on the 3rd day. Likewise, every tree that has ever grown is genos of these seeds. There is nothing new since then, just a lot of new arrangements. ;)--> (and now, to help keep the ball in play...) So what does this have to do with what Christian Family and Sex class is about? WACK! Everything, but not much, sadly.
  19. You don't really seem to hate disappointing people, Jbarrax. Besides, how can you disappoint me if I was never relying on you to begin with. I don't even know you. The triune nature of man is a much older concept than VPW. Even older than the author of Genesis. I just thought it would be helpful to use terminology familiar to this forum. Maybe I was wrong? Now I hope your'e not too disappointed in me. For what its worth to ya, Peace, Todd
  20. Sorry bout the head spinning. I hope its not a bad thing. But if it is... ...is there an exorcist in the house? :P-->
  21. Trefor, No, I am saying that gender exists on many levels, if not all levels. Gender of flesh is only skin deep. Angelic beings are dual gender. We are all, in truth, angelic beings. Can "male and female created he them" of Genesis refer to the spirit of an individual? Using the body/soul/spirit paradigm... If each of these elements have a male/female right/left element, then we get 3 x 2 = 6 (the human number). And its not elimination of gender that becomes like the angels of heaven, but the uniting of gender into one (or at least the realization of this unity). "Two become one flesh," because in the singular gender of flesh, we are only half a being? One tree growing on each side of the river? And 12 = marriage (two 6 dimensional beings overlapping on every level is the healthiest). etc... Oh, yeah, and there's that lucky number 7. peace Todd Now, I going to try to extricate myself from this thread before I get buried in a mountain of lexicons.
