  1. Let me know if you find her. I was her best friend at hq and I was her maid of honor. I haven't contacted her since leaving TWI. She married a man whose family has been dedicated to twi for many years.
  2. Dovey, It's in Insurgent's first post on this thread. He/She started the thread. Here's what twi said:
  3. When I saw the title "3x5 cards", I thought of those stupid witnessing cards. I remember being given several when we went door-to-door or mall witnessing. We had a goal to bring back several contacts. We also had a goal to undershepard one person through the WAP series. Now when I think about it, why in the world did I think I could do God's job? If people are called, they are called. And that is whether I go witnessing or not. I've had way more opportunities to minister to people since leaving, and I've never knocked on a door or interrupted someone while they were shopping.
  4. Sure, it was better if you got thrown out. But there was an enormous fear of being out of the protection of the household, being a greasespot by midnight. I remember that fear, and even though I knew fear was sand in the machinery of life....blah...blah...blah..., twi liked having people in fear because it kept them in place and obedient. I remember the best deliverance of my life was realizing that I wasn't going to die if I left the ministry. I was a good little koolaid drinker. Now I don't touch the stuff.
  5. The movie was great to portray the PASSION of the Christ. This also is very important to our life today. You can't have a resurrection without a death. Here are some song lyrics that I think help to understand our NEED for our Savior. Please don't let the trinitarian innuendos twist your shorts. Please see the beauty of the song. Here I Am To Worship Light of the World, You stepped down into darkness. Opened my eyes let me see. Beauty that made this heart adore You. Hope of a life spent with You. So here I am to worship, here I am to bow down. Here I am to say that You're my God. You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy. Altogether wonderful to me. King of all days, Oh so highly exalted. Glorious in Heaven above. Humbly You came to the earth You created. All for love's sake became poor. I'll never know how much it cost To see my sins up on that cross. It's humbling to realize what my sin cost.
  6. How does God talk to you? It's different and personal for each person.
  7. Last I knew, they were still in and living in the Tampa area. I saw them at the advanced class not so special in November 2002. They did get booted for having a baby without lcm's blessing. I think his name is actually Lampert.
  8. Gosh, I haven't heard of Jeff Probasco for a long time. Last time I saw him was in 1995. He was at Target in Portland, Oregon, and he was with Michael Strahaul. I didn't talk to him though. I was too high and mighty of a wayfer back then. He and his wife were divorced though. They had a baby girl together.
  9. I was thinking about "He Lives", a song sang often in twi. "I serve a risen saviour he's in the world today" SERVE Jesus??? Would that make him God???? Surely we (wayfers) can't SERVE JESUS!!! But we'll sing about it. It attracts (errr confuses the new people). "He walks with me and talks with me, along life's narrow way." Yes, twi, Jesus does walk and talk with us. He's the head of the church for crying out loud!! Why do they sing a song with words they don't promote? They should listen to the words of the song, maybe they would learn a thing or two.
  10. I remember being told about rfr and dm's vacations together. They would share about them at lunch. A few times when all the top dogs went out of town, it seemed the way things were explained that rfr and dm shared a room. I thought it was odd that dm didn't share a room with her husband. It always appeared that rfr and dm were too close. But I don't know about the lesbian thing. That's all hearsay. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  11. http://www.seamonkeyworship.com/holidayall.htm Remember when we were talking about the Church of Elvis? Even our little beloved Sea Monkeys took a vacation there! Click on Oregon. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  12. OK, call me ignorant. What are cockles of the heart? Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  13. Bless me FatherSeaMonkey, for I have sinned.... It has been 4 days since reading the Amazing Sea Monkey thread.... I lived without peace in my life. After reading Goey's post, I realized I missed my fellowship with the Amazing Sea Monkeys. I went picked me up some of the little buggers, and now I can sleep at night knowing they are just across the room sitting on my chest of drawers. I hope those rabid sea horses from the Birch Aquarium down the road don't find out about them....... Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  14. Does waybrain count as a curse??? Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  15. I never heard of any curses, like voo-doo stuff. But I heard "You will die without the household." Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  16. What makes one think we trust twi's doctrine anymore? I don't trust much they taught me. Remember, practical error always leads to doctrinal error? It's the practical errors and the refusal to make them right which have caused so much hurt and distrust for this organization and it's leadership. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me. Well, I ain't getting screwed anymore. The churches today are not full of idiots or religious zealots like twi taught. I don't see them believing in blind faith either. 17. Happy Birthday you young swinger!! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  18. ROFLMAO!! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  19. Excie, I guess the Church of Elvis is everywhere. There are even different sects. Google it. Here's the Portland one. I've seen those people at Saturday Market. They are whack jobs. http://www.frankwu.com/elvis1.html http://www.geocities.com/presleyterian_church/home.html Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  20. Excie, Sea horses are cool! I love to see them at the Birch Aquarium here in San Diego. They have every kind you could dream of. One looks like a dragon. They feed brine shrimp (sea monkeys ) to the sea horses. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  21. Excathedra, There is a Church of Elvis in Portland, Oregon. No kidding. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  22. Excathedra!! That is too darn funny! OK, this thread has gone farther than I have ever dreamed, and I've seen it mentioned on other threads. I tried to stay away, but I could not. You guys are having wayyyyy too much fun! I remember having sea monkey as a child. It caused me trauma. They never looked like the sea monkey on Excathedra's badge. --> Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  23. I could never dream of having a day off for weather in Southern California. I loved snow days as a kid. I wish I could stay home from work. There's give and take in every situation I guess. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  24. Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. Oh my gosh! I have never seen these verses, or I don't remember. I wonder how twi spewed their poison and lies about this event. I don't remember hearing it, and honestly, I haven't read "Are The Dead Alive Now?" for years. Anybody know anything? Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
