  1. I just wanted to celebrate the fact that I have been out of twi for a whole year! I have been reflecting at the quality of my life compared to almost 20 years in twi. I have much more freedom in almost every category of my life. I have a better relationship with my heavenly Father. I am no longer hung up on words. I don't judge people like I used to. I contribute to charity work, and I love it! I have a real joy and zeal for life now! I have REAL friends. And I have a NEW boyfriend who loves the heck out of me!! Life is definitely better out! :P--> HERE THAT INNIES!! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  2. Exie, We had a parakeet when I was a kid. They are inexpensive, and they can be really smart. I don't know about diseases, but I am sure they are pretty safe. My parakeet's name was Perky. We taught him how to say his name while bobbing our heads up and down. He mimicked the bobbing too....LOL. He also could do a "wolf" whistle. He used to sit on my chest and give me kisses on my bottom lip. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  3. Hope, That letter is sick!!! "He's a time bomb waiting to explode and ruin God's people's lives." Can you say HUGE HYPRCRITE????? That man was ruining marriages and lives of women he victimized!! "The standard of forgiveness is the way God in Christ forgives us. The only thing that gets us back in fellowship is a confession of broken fellowship...not participation in ministry function or saying the right words, but an honest heart recognition that you are wrong;". Man he sure didn't hold that standard up himself. If I remember the standard Jesus set in forgiveness with the woman found in adultery, he didn't "fry her a$$". He thought about it and told those who without sin to cast the first stone. Then he told the woman to go and sin no more. Jesus represented the true love of God. I truly believe Craig Martindale was so full of hatrid for his own lies and deceit, that he couldn't stand his own stench. He obviously was so deeply entrenched in his stench that he had no humility to stop. He made his wrongs his doctrine. He took frustration from his own life and took it out on the ministry. Not to mention that he was a beady-eyed pharisee dictator. God have mercy on his wretched soul. He said that if we didn't get our lives straight and clean, there would be weeping and nashing of teeth at the bema. Wonder what he thinks now???? Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  4. I wished I had listened to my father when he told me going WOW was the biggest effin mistake I ever would make in my life. He was right. That year indoctrinated me into twi really well. God only know the BS I lived with that year. They moved us across the state of TExas right before Christmas. I had only 19 credit hours to finish college, and that was the reason my dad was so furious. He knew I wouldn't finish. That was the only time he talked to me that way. It hurt my feelings at the time, and I was sure he didn't understand why I was doing what I was doing. He knew enough that it was a waste of my life. Well, Dad, you were right. Sorry I didn't listen to you back then. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  5. Sam Seldon was always a great guy full of heart! I knew him at HQ. He got married there, and last I knew he and his wife had taken an assignment in Kentucky as BCs. I haven't heard anything since then though. It's been about 2 years since I've seen them. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  6. Do you mean the guy who used to play drums in way prod? Last I knew he was still in and living in Indianapolis. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  7. Pat, Check your private topics. :)--> Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  8. Vickles, I went to a CES fellowship which had about 2 new people who had never been involved with twi. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  9. For the most part, trust has to be earned. If it is a minister, he must work to earn his congregation's trust. If it is a marriage relationship, there is a period of time before the marriage happens that trust is built. Either way, trust is built. I don't believe that an inability to trust people means we can't or don't trust God. If anything, we learn that God is infallible and worthy of our trust. He never changes. When we believe all of this about God, there's no reason not to put our trust in Him. With people, there is no way to know trust will be broken unless you see tell-tell signs but decide to trust anyway. Do people trust their spouses the minute they laid eyes on them? Most likely not. There was a relationship built, and trust became a part of that relationship. I just don't believe trust has to be something we have for just anybody. I don't believe this is jaded thinking either. People should have to prove themselves in order to have access to our hearts. IMHO--it is wise to guard your heart. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  10. Yeah! What Zix said! It was the BEST one for crying out loud :)--> Happy Frikin Birthday Zix!! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  11. I was thinking about this again. During the anniversary last year, I saw people get up and share about what the way did for their lives for the past 20 years. I could tell it was forced and not really genuine. I had just started posting on GSC as an innie, and I was thinking to myself, "I can't get up and give a speech on something I surely don't believe!!! I can't be a phoney!!" I had put my twig face on for MANY months before this. I think that was the beginning of the end of twi for me. Thank God I left that organization. Thank God I am learning more and more about Him each day. And Thank Jesus too! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  12. I don't think there's a way to really address issues about why Mrs. W didn't get medication she needed. I left 2 years ago, and I could tell back then that she appeared to have symptoms of alzheimer's. twi was pretty secretive of things concerning her. I only know when they stopped letting her drive, they asked people on staff to let their dept. coord know that they would be willing to drive Mrs. W to places to shop (i.e., KMart, Wal-Mart, grocery store, etc.) I personally don't know anyone who actually did it though. Maybe they utilized her escort more for these things. I can't remember at that time whether Don W. was still alive or not. Even if he was, I'm sure he was too sick to do these kinds of things for her. When I was first on Staff, we had 100% reimbursement of medical and prescription. When they told us we were taking a pay cut, they reduced the reimbursement to 80% for the staff, but it is my understanding that the trustee household was still reimbursed 100%. I can't see Mrs. W not falling in to remaining the 100% category. She should have been able to have meds she needed. So if she did not get them, there's no explanation for it. Maybe twi was just in denial that she actually had alzheimer's. It is a disease that affects the mind. Any discriminating wayfer would say that shouldn't happen to the household. After all you know, the Word you hold in your mind keeps you sharp. Sure it does, but there are also genetics and an adversary who does things we can't always control. And sometime .... just happens. Look at the first bot. They all died fairly young because of illnesses out of their control. I remember hearing that ermal owens knew he was going to die a year before it happened. 13. Vickles, Look on the thread on Way Disciples Coming to your town. They have WDs coming in their area. I think they are in the HQ area and definitely still in. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  14. I left in December 2002. March 2003 would have been my official 20 year anniversary. Darn, if I could have hung in for a little longer, I could have gotten a spayshul paper from the bod recognizing my faithfulness. NOT!!!!!! The amount of way brain I have dumped and the amount of peacefulness I have gained in the last 11 1/2 months (1 year anniversary is the first week of December for being OUT!!) have been the best thing I ever did for myself. Glad I'm NottaWayfer!!! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects. [This message was edited by Wayfer Not! on November 08, 2003 at 18:47.]
  15. Last I knew she was in (and probably will never leave twi). She has been on staff at HQ for years, and years, and years. BTW, I think her name is spelled Hearne. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  16. During the attack of the machines on the dock, did anyone else wonder why there were only two women who had the fire power to put down the big drilling machines? It seems with as many people they had, there should have been more people with the same kind of fire power those two women had. Obviously there was less work involved than those who rode in their own machine shooting bullets. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  17. When Neo was questioning the Oracle about the Architect, she said the Architect didn't know from one moment to the next. Yet the Architect had many things to say to Neo in Reloaded which were beneficial to him. In the last scene where the Oracle and Architect were conversing, she asked him about an emotion (forget which one sorry -->), he refused to acknowledge he knew anything about emotions. What did this mean? Is he a program, or is he a machine? I still don't know his function in all of the confusion. BTW, I NEVER talk during movies. I always ask questions later. 18. Also, at the end when the Oracle was having a conversation with the white haired man, was that man the architect? Could someone please explaine that whole conversation to me?? Thanks! Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  19. I saw the movie last night. I agree that Trinity's death was pointless even if the movie was influenced by Japanese anime. To appeal to all members of the audience (which includes women like me ;)-->), they could have had her live. Since there is a love interest in this movie, chickifying it would be desirable (I hear the men groaning now.....:)-->). It would have been better to show that love conquers all, even machines and programs. The talking she did in the end scene of her death was wayyyyyy too long. Also, the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith at the end was kinda boring. Some of the effects were good, but my opinion is they overkilled the fight scenes in the air. All of the flying in the air just didn't seem as exciting; it was too superman-ish. I really liked the first movie when Trinity and Neo went in with their leather jackets and big guns. It had more impact. The one thing that seemed kinda weird to me is when Agent Smith puts his fist in Neo and Neo becomes Agent Smith. Is it safe to assume that Neo was stronger than Agent Smith's program/virus??? to be overtaken by it; therefore allowing him to overcome Agent Smith? I didn''t completely understand that one. The whole thing with the peace making deal between Neo and the machines was kind of ridiculous. It's not a definite thing. They will get rid of Agent Smith, who is a threat to both worlds, but it doesn't deal with the whole issue between the machines and humans that was presented in the first movie. 20. I listened to martinpuke spew his mouth at lunch for 4 years before he went mia. I think that counts as verbal abuse. I lived in fear of not being a lunch time topic. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
  21. The only abuse I could say was scary was verbal abuse and physical restraint from my first WOW family coordinator. I heard stories from people who were in rez who got smacked on the head if they fell asleep during their study time. I heard E* H*rn*y was famous for that. 23. Dot Matrix is one of the most loving people I've had the privilege to encounter. Accusations of religion of hate are completely WRONG!!!!!! Perhaps some people only see what they want to see while they disregard some people's experiences of hurt and pain. It's idolatry of a man that makes some people so cold-hearted and accusative. 25. I have an email address I use strictly for internet dating sites. When I signed up for this yahoo account, I did not put in my real name or my real information. Today, I open up my bulk email folder and see an email addressed to my full name on this "anonymous" email address, and the email has extremely pornographic pictures on it!!!! Could it be that the internet dating sites sold my name and "anonymous" email address to somone else? This is the only thing I can think of. Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects.
