Yep I knew that BC Oak---he was one of the most legalistic ones I knew while he was in training! Also, LCM did hate crosses? Remember? They were not allowed!!! We were told to tell people not to where them!

I voted--I spent 3 years of my life on staff at HQ. First year was very busy, but I did enjoy it. (I had the typical delusions that I was working for God.) The other 2 were a different story.

Oh My!! I can't imagine trying to do this! It's bad enough finding a discreet place to nurse the baby. One of their topics under benefits list "EC is fun because" came up with all types of amusing senarios. Cosleeping baby peeing in my bed....Running through the house to the toilet as baby is peeing or pooping in your arms.. add your own. I figure diapers are fine for another 6 months at least.

Sorry you are having a tough time with this class. I read the Prayer Of Jabez just a few months ago since I had never read it. I didn't like the "formula" approach. Someone already brought up the verse in Peter about by his stripes we were healed. I know that all throughout the Gospels Jesus went around healing people. I don't know what else to add...I just hope it gets figured out. The only thing I have decided on lately is that I can't understand everything. I don't think God sends sickness and death...

Hey all! So today is the big "65th" anniversary according to twi standards. What fun things are you going to do? I was originally going to ignore it, but as a coincidence, I am going to a church picnic!! The difference 2 years of freedom makes! My condolences to anyone, like copenhagen, who has to put in an appearance at twi or a long hiccup of the festivities. I wonder how many Way disciples they will have this year and which lucky cities will get them? I guess their theme verse will be John 10:10?

Just so you know--B*b St*nley of Acts 29 is still active WC and running a branch (I think.) A friend of mine said he was still singing for some of his local events, at least a couple of years ago anyway.

I was thinking this morning-which can be dangerous :) The Way used the term "broken fellowship" instead of sin. I appreciate the teaching that there was no such thing as big sins and little sins--but for the last decade of my involvement, we never said the word sin in reference to ourselves. I wonder if that helped shut down our conscience or allowed us to go along not being concerned about our behavior. After all, we were more than conquerors and victorious. That seemed to be the emphasis. What are your thoughts about this? Can you think of any other words that were changed to soften the impact of the reality of what was going on? I know the Way used to ridicule those denominations who spoke of demons instead of devil spirits because they were making the devil spirits sound not as evil as they were.

My apologies, it could be that my perception was based on her stressing over her responsiblities--and EVERYONE was stressing out at that time. I didn't know her personally, just when our responsiblites overlapped. I think the thing that hurts my heart the most right now is the fact that most innies think leaving the Way means leaving the Word and forsaking God. I guess too many years of the God equals His Word and the Word is the ministry/ministry is the Word logic. Right before I left I sat through 2 teachings that equated serving Jesus Christ as Lord as being completely sold out to the Way. I had started to see the light then--I wish I would have confronted that illogic then in front of other well-meaning folks who are still deceived.

I know him. I used to deal with his wife a lot while she was interior design. She wasn't nice. He seemed ok-but I never had to deal with him much.

It has only been 2 years since my last aniv celebration--I remember it being endlessing tiring and boring. I feel for you. We left soon after the one 2 years ago. Too much same ol same ol.

Hey everyone! We had an awesome time on the cruise!! I didn't realize how much gambling and drinking can occur on 4 days on a ship!!! We had a romantic and fun time and watched people make fools of themselves. The food was great--too much--I gained 5 pounds (tho hubby LOST 5) Weather was great. We came into New Orleans at the end of the surprise hurricane (On the TX/LA border), but it didn't mess with any of our travel plans. We went shopping on San Miguel Ave downtown Cozumel and then went to Paradise Beach. We relxed and had fun. We can't wait to find out if we get to go on another cruise next year.

Dean missed Cozumel by 130 miles I believe. All they received was rain.

Well the cruise is getting close! Raf please no cones heading in the Caribbean or Louisiana until after Sept 20! It looks like we are going to try to do some shopping inside of Cozumel a little past the pier area and then head to Paradis Beach. Anyone been there? We are looking for a place to swim/wade, relax and eat.

Agape, I too felt really bad about the people I stopped talking to because of being a way-bot myself. (Not to mention the people I reproved for stupid things.) It also bothered me that I recruited others into twi and there are a few who joined the Way Corpse because of me and they are still in. If you can track down your 2 friends, you may find they will forgive you and you can start over in your friendship.

JustSayNo mentioned something about a survey after the Craig incident. it wasn't a ministry wide thing--I double checked with my spouse and we never saw or filled out one like that. Only one we ever saw asked about putting STS of a different format. I remember those days when all young people who had potential were "encouraged"/expected to do WOW and Way Corps. I fell for it myself--never finished the college thing because I wasn't doing enough for God.

Did the Hamptons really leave? (L*z and A#ron?) Anyway-even loyboy preached that trustee positions were not supposed to be for life--at one time he said around 5 years for trustees too. It would probably sort of help twi to be rid of Rosey---after all she knew about the abuse and did nothing. It was one reason I left 2 years ago. Br*an was 24th Way Corps--so he's been a grad for 12 years.

Gee where do I start? I have been reading a lot in order to get a different perspective than my twi one. I started reading lots of Max Lucado books because the library here had a lot of them. I have read some of Beth Moore's books--my favorite being Breaking Free. It was very healing for me. Recently I have read several of John Bevere's books-including a fictional one called Rescued. (Which was awesome--though a lot of people like the audio version best because it takes a while for the book to get going.) Right now I am reading a book called Completely His by Shannon Ethridge. I may end up posting parts of that one because at least one section "screamed" to me regarding time in twi. I have read others-but will spare you those!

Eagle, I am so sorry you had that happen at that church. I will be praying too. I am thankful that I have found someplace here that does look out for each other.
