  1. Thanks for the suggestions! I don't wear perfume too often-when I do I like it subtle. It takes me a very long time to go through a bottle of perfume. I just threw away bottles that were over 8 years old when we moved.
  2. Hi all. I have been wearing white diamonds perfume for 12 years and would like to try something else. I tend to like perfumes not over-powering. Anyone have suggestions? Please not too pricey ones. Thanks! :) (It's for our romantic cruise in a month!)
  3. Behave you JustSayNO!! :P :P Seriously, Recent years claimed that the Word was the ministry and the Ministry was the Word. Also implied that if Jesus was Lord that nothing came before twi. It's like taking apart a jigsaw puzzle and trying to erase the picture from the original pieces.
  4. Preacher-it's good to "see" you again. At least here at Greasespot we are entitled to our own opinions! :B)
  5. Happy happy birthday BB!! :)

    LEAD

LEAD was resurrected beginning at the 20th WC (I think) and done during their last year in rez. This was in 92. Wc hitchhiked to Gunnison from Ohio. They had a deadline of a certain amount of hours (I don't remember how many) to get there too. Then did the hiking climbing rappelling and duo stuff. Then hitchhiked back. In 94 or 95 they got rid of the hitchhiking part and substitued some type of map reading. It was probably one of the best times of my in rez experience. I just really loved the duo time-even though it snowed and it was COLD. The view was awesome and I did make some life changing decisions there. The individuals in charge of our group were genuinely concerned for us and were great examples of servants. (Though it was also a very HARD and challenging experience too.)
  8. He has been in Atlanta for several years now-except for his Way Disciple stunt. Looks like his phone is listed on www.anywho.com. As of a couple of years ago he was still a dedicated twier
  9. I have attempted to throw away all of my nametags-but I think they multiplied when I wasn't looking. My WC nametag was white with green--22nd. I had WC nametags, AC nametags, WOW nametags and staff nametags. I too have read the "Driven by Eternity" book and it was awesome! And it shook me up some too. I have only been out of twi for around 2 years. I agree that the worship service at church so blows me away! I do still SIT. I had force myself to stop for a while to make it not be so mechanical.
  10. You could also try your local "freecycle" website. There is one in my area for my local county and the metro area of the large city we live in. You can give away a whole bunch of things and also post wanted messages. The general rule is that you offer more items than items you post as wants. If you find the website, they should have rules posted too. (My original idea was the Oriental trading thing too.)
  11. Gee- I was so far gone and I didn't think about my Mom wanting to help plan my wedding until you mentioned it Catcup. Boy now I feel like a heel-something else to apologize to my Mom for. I was such a waybot and so worked up about no negative believing in the delivery room of my first child that I had my Mom wait in the waiting room while I was in labor. I sure did some stupid things. At least we have survived 13 years when we were basically yelled at for wanting to get married--and then told all the reasons why we shouldn't get married. We had to patiently wait for lcm's "blessing"
  12. In later days..trying to explain why I thought not owning a home and moving every 6 months to a year was better than having my own place with a mortgage. I always got the strangest blank looks from everyone---and never could explain it with real logic. (Oh and why it was good to drive a car that broke down all the time instead of having a dependable car with car payments.)
  13. By the 90's it was no longer good vs evil....it was actually between good and best. The adversary would give you several "good" choices so we couldn't see the best choice. Talking about pressure!!
  14. Yep we were married in a Corps wedding after 18th corps. We had to arrange things like HighWay said. The bad part was that some of our best friends got married the exact same time as us. They had a morning wedding time and an afternoon wedding time with one large reception under the big top. My roommate and I planned our decorations for our wedding together since we had the same location, just different times. We still have a picture of all the couples that got married that day with us. And no-thankfully it wasn't a group honeymoon--but then again we didn't get one anyway--we got married then graduated the same weekend then went to rock of ages work detail (on opposite shifts!)
  15. LOL Thanks for the chuckles everyone!! In some ways this is one of the biggest problems I am still dealing with after 2 years. Wanting to stay in a false reality and not see the real picture. (The Shunnamite woman example of all is well--when it IS NOT.
  16. I would say that John J has done and continues to do a good job about warning people about what twi is all about. In their current state, they are not helping anyone develop a true and vital relationship with God. (Remember twi's definition of godliness?) Nevertheless, twi had some info that could be helpful and God was somehow able to reach us with some well-meaning folks who happened to be a part of twi. In my opinion there are now other much safer ways to find and seek out God's heart. If we truly seek Him we will find!
  17. Mark, This may be slightly off topic, but can you tell me more about Kempis and Imitation of Christ. Thanks!

    Alter Egos

I have nothing under my name. Now I feel left out. Maybe I should start a wierd business or something...
  19. Gee I had a similar experience with Cla**ettee. BTW the young man doing the "moves" is F Stu*z--Joe S's son. The young girl's daddy is a L*nder.
  20. "The Present Truth" is the name of Way Productions band...so it is "The Singing Ladies" with "The Present Truth" loyboy started calling the band that YEARS ago--interesting that they can't come up with a better name...
  21. Looks like they are trying.....but it sure looks wierd seeing those "dance moves" from someone in a dark blue suit with tie.
  22. I meant to comment yesterday. I still pray--I actually pray more and with a greater depth than when in twi. I don't demand things anymore though.

    cruise to Cozumel

Thanks for everyone's input! You can keep the suggestions coming. An employer is paying for the cruise part-we need to pay for our New Orleans and whatever we do on shore in Cozumel. The cruise isn't until mid September. We have to wait for our stateroom assignment before we look at excursions versus going out on our own.
  24. Was the speaker a Joseph Garlington?
