  1. That's probably the longest disclaimer I've ever read. Such things are best kept short. They definitely should've stopped before citing this verse though: I Thessalonians 5:21: Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Tens of thousands of God's children did exactly that to TWI. We did not hold fast.
  2. I'm torn. Do I love God more for His majesterial creative powers, or for His sense of humor? Since He's already created this heaven and earth, and has promised us a new heaven and earth, I'm going with His sense of humor. Eternity, my brothers and sisters, is a very long time to spend with just anyone...
  3. Golly, I'm glad you said that because there's something I've never understood. Circumcision, and tongues. Why did God chose circumcision as a sign? Of all things!! Let's say there were some Old Testament guys walking down a road, minding their own business, and then another group of guys passed by and stopped them to ask, "Hey, are you guys Jews?" Did the Jews like whip out their penises and say, "Yeah, buddy! Jews here!" I mean, wtf? And then tongues. Why did God chose tongues as a sign for Christians? Of all things!! Maybe He chose it so that, instead of Christians having to whip out our penises to show people, we could just stick out our tongues. That's what I think. Is this off topic?
  4. Kit, not sure if this belongs here in your thread, but it's cool so I'm including it here. It's a multiple- image photo of the sun's most recect annual analemma curve. http://apod.nasa.gov...d/ap120922.html The caption below the photo at the link has the particulars.Cool, huh?!
  5. Hmmmm... I heard TWI is offering a full refund of all money donated by former members, in exchange for our promise to keep our mouths shut about its corrupt practices. You might ask to see if that's actually true.
  6. Have any of you tried the paragraphed KJV? Here's a link to a good review of one, with pictures: http://www.bibledesi...k-goatskin.html I quite like it. The text is the same as the traditional KJV numbered verse-per-line format, but the paragraphs provide a more natural reading experience.
  7. KJV is my version of choice, but I'm learning to really appreciate the English Standard Version. Crossway produces a fine ESV study Bible that I really like. Most of my Bibles are study Bibles, but when I want to read the text free of footnotes and explanations, I go to the KJV. Thank thee for asking.
  8. All aboard the Mystery Train!! Chooo Chooo!! Check out this page of a wonderful blog produced by another ex-TWIer. Look at "Chapter VIII: The Meeting: Part III" towards the bottom of the page. http://soulfeet.word.../camp-gunnison/ According to VPW, the great MOG with the small PUD, it must be a Wierwille running the railroad. It's genetics, dontcha know, this whole question of who is called out to lead. Choooo Choooo!!!!
  9. I have no intimate knowledge of how Martindale knew so much about male homosexual activity, but as a detached observer of his overreaction on that subject, I'm reminded of Shakespeare: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
  10. I find it endlessly curious that the world at large, Judaism in particular, and even the Christian church itself have all managed to lose track of something as painfully simple as the actual birthday of Jesus Christ. I think that's absolutely amazing. What a cock-up! It's almost as bad as managing to lose all of the original Biblical texts. But what a wonderful God we have. He knew things like this were bound to happen, so He wrote the entire Word, including the birthday of Jesus Christ, high up in the stars. Up where nobody could touch it and muck it up. Except now, of course, hardly anyone knows how to read the Word in the stars.
  11. Hey ex, I'm having hella fun rearranging the words in your post title.. "Big shot leaders • who had sex outside their marriage" Outside marriage sex • who had shot their leaders big Outside sex • marriage shot their leaders who big Big sex • outside their leaders shot who had Leaders sex outside • who had their big marriage shot Big shot marriage • who had sex outside their leaders Better than Scrabble! I'm in an odd mood. Teach me vp!!!
  12. Yep! Grads were told to attend every class to provide the subtle coercion group believing for the new students. That's probably why PFAL was free for grads. TWI let a lucrative source of income slip through its fingers by not charging grads $5 or $10 to retake the class. Guess they thought it more important to keep the coercion believing of the new people going than to charge the grads. You're the best.
  13. The hours I have sat thinking about this very thing. There's another key to understanding his pattern. There's a point in the class when he starts addressing the students as "my people". After charming us with his humor, impressing us with his boldness, and endearing himself to us with his logic, he suddenly says we are his people. And so we were. He graciously permitted us to be his people, which changed the psychology of our relationship with him from teacher/student to teacher/follower. It's as if he were some shining one standing before us.
  14. Unless the gathering together happens first, I believe I'm going to die someday. Furthermore, I believe you are going to die someday. So, if you die, did my believing kill you? And if it did, shouldn't I be arrested for murder? Come to think,... if I die, then my death should be labeled a suicide because I killed myself using my own believing. You know, being a leader in TWI was the easiest job in the world because WE WERE IDIOTS.
  15. Sometimes I entertain the idea of driving to HQ to attend a Sunday service. You know, just to see things again with my own eyes. I've not been involved with TWI since the 1970s and have no idea what my status is. Would they let me in? How do I find out in advance if I'm like Marked and Avoided, or on some Believer Blacklist or whatever?
  16. One of the photos in the news article shows a group of the priest's supporters outside the courthouse. I'm really hoping that is just a mistaken caption, that the people in the photo aren't really supporting what the priest did to that boy.
  17. Dreams are fine, if you are asleep. The only difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. So, plan something, you few remaining innies! Sleep well, Rozilla. Your ranks are clearly not fully cleansed...
  18. I've never seen the WOW Auditoruim, or whatever it's called. I beat feet before it was built (though I did help pay for it). Facing north? Really?? Pfffth. Why not Mecca? Honestly, the TWI nonsense is too numerous to keep track of.

    TAKIT Band

vp also really liked NAILEDIT he always liked to have them together. TOOKIT first, then NAILEDIT. I think NAILEDIT was originally known as Scored.
  20. I liked the familia! Wish i had the recipe. I liked the millet, too. Gawd, I'd forgotten about the hostesses in the BRC dining room, all them good manners all over the place. Then after lunch, Craig would sit atop the back of his chair, wearing his short shorts from Jock Emporium, and pontificate about whatever.
  21. Thought I would try my hand at poetry... Wierwille had a little weenie, its juice was white as snow; And everywhere that Wierwille went, the weenie was sure to grow. He plumped it in the motorcoach, which was against the rules; It made the girls all cry and say, that weenie isn't cool. And yet The Teacher kept it up, and still he hovered near, And waited patiently about till another girl did appear. "Why does the weenie love me so?" the moaning girls all cried; "It's good to be alive, you know" The Teacher did reply.
  22. Peter Wade was made a non-person, as were so many other children of God. He wouldn't play ball according to the Politburo VPW rule book.

They removed the statue of Joe Paterno from outside Beaver Stadium early this morning. http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/breaking/paterno-statue-to-come-down-645736/ The overwhelming majority of the fine people at Penn State knew nothing about the child molestations that coach sandusky was committing on campus all those years. Joe Paterno knew. He knew and he was in a position to stop the abuses. He didn't. His superiors also knew. They didn't stop the abuses either.
  24. Zero tolerance for child abusers. Zero tolerance for those who willingly cover up for the abusers. It's that simple. Don't make it hard. The PSU scandal describes an abuser who began in the physical realm. TWI describes an abuser who began in the spiritual realm. Both wilfully manipulated the innocent.
