"That's interesting. Just hours ago I was told by several degreed educational professionals that my wife and I are committed, involved parents whom they really appreciate working with, as well as our 3 kids. These people have known us for over 10 years." Have you told these people yet what a low opinion you have of higher education and the mental health professions?

The Mann Act is named after Congressman James Robert Mann.

Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. I was specifically referring to ones who have died as a result of TWI involvement.
-
I've lost a few friends who are missing from the list, as well. But, then, I suppose quite a few of us are in that category.

Hahaha! Yeah, I agree. I was just trying to keep it within the framework of how he, himself, defined "marriage". Soooooo.... The MOG was a DOM....I likes it!
-
I wanna come back as an aardvark.
-
Well you know, "any two believers can make a marriage work." I mean, really, just look at what a wonderful, monogamous, loving example VPW and Dottsie were. (Ouch!, I think I just bit my tongue.)
-
Yeah, I forgot to mention the indisputable "evidence" of Lo shonta bonta bo bonta bananna fanna fo fanta."
-
Well, he did teach us about how there were 4 crucified with Jesus, not 2. Oops, sorry, that particular research has been debunked. Ok, then there is the matter of lambano and dechomai. Nah, that one crashed and burned, too. How about the law of believing? Shoot, that dog don't hunt neither. Well, crap, what exactly DID we learn, anyhow?
-
I think I see your point, what with God being spirit and all that. Then again, I guess one has to be a bit more specific in who owns the title of "God".
-
And he violated The Mann Act in order to facilitate his polygamous lifestyle. So, even though there are no federal laws against polygamy, there ARE laws against the sort of trafficking he used to facilitate it. (See thread on Polygamy)
-
Well, there are some amongst us who roll our eyes and say, with disgust, "God Almighty!" That's probably not what you had in mind, though.
-
By virtue of his own definitions, as set forth in the CF&S class, VPW was a polygamist. CF&S (somewhat paraphrased) 1."Intercourse is always a spiritual event." 2."Consummation, because it is spiritual in nature, is the defining criteria for marriage in God's eyes, not the laws of man." Where he got these ideas, I don't know. He said he didn't have scriptures to back much of what he was saying and told us we would "just have to trust me"(him).
-
VPW willfully violated The Mann Act of 1910. HERE Had he been caught and prosecuted, he would have been, not only a "bad man", he would have been a felon, hardly worthy of the exaltation and laurels that have been misguidedly heaped upon him.
-
And therein lies the point of NOT letting this slip into the shadows of history. VPW's legacy lives on in these clowns who still promote this sort of thinking. Ergo, it's not really "past history" at all. It's alive and well wherever the praises of "our Father, who art in New Knoxville' are being sung.
-
Relevant points that come to mind: 1. He was in a position of authority and influence. 2. Date rape drugs were sometimes used. 3. He violated the Mann Act when he transported victims across state lines.
-
Yes, I did wonder about that at times.
-
Let's just hope he was "shootin' blanks".
-
....and a limp one at that.

I agree with you on this Mr. Squirrel. Simply knowing that he stood before groups of people and made such claims regarding his own daughter, whether true or not, is more than enough to disqualify him as a "good man" in my book.
-
"She lives in MI. Why don't you call her and ask her about it rather than blindly believe what someone posted here. There's a website called zabasearch.com that will give phone numbers and addresses for free. Go ahead, call her. And while you're at it, why don't you ask her how she feels about the things said here about her dad?" Perhaps you weren't paying attention, John. People have come forward and given first hand testimony that Wierwille made these claims when addressing small, intimate groups. This is not hearsay. Wierwille stated, that when his daughter was approaching or had reached puberty, he fondled her nipples in order to sexually arouse her so she would know what to expect as she grew into womanhood. He claimed that this is something that is customary in aboriginal tribes in remote parts of the World. These incidents really happened. There is a bit more information that I know about this that I am just not going to post. You don't like that? Tough! Now, the question here is if he really did the things he claimed. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. I, for one, believe he did. But, we can't know for sure unless that person actually comes forward. However, we can be 100% sure that he did, at least, confess to committing such acts. What sort of "good person" would made such claims about interactions with his own daughter? "Go ahead, call her. And while you're at it, why don't you ask her how she feels about the things said here about her dad?" Maybe YOU should call HER and ask her how she feels about her father having made these claims. Personally, I doubt you have what it would take to make such a call.
