  1. Maybe they really meant, "Age 10 years in 1."
  2. As long as one person at least attempts courtesy and good manners, it will be like THE - It will never die!
  3. On the surface, this would actually seem fairly innocuous. Refreshers in grammar, automotive maintenance, world history (Early history of New Knoxville? <_< ) etc. But with anything connected with the Way, I just haveta ask, "Why?" First of all, why haven't they converted from tapes to CDs? Easier to store, probably more widespread personal applications (home, car, portable), might even be cheaper to produce. Then, as some of these topics are of such a general and widespread nature, have they included weblinks or some other resource material not directly produced by the Way. If not, why not? Is this material available to non- and/or ex-way people? If not, why not? Maybe some "outside the Household" might have something to offer which would actually enhance and enlighten. Shortfuse, you may be correct that this is much ado about nothing. Certainly there's nothing wrong about the topics themselves, and may be of interest and practical application to their intended recipients. But I wonder about the motivation of an organization whose primary mission (biblical research, teaching and fellowship) is such a failure.
  4. I'll drink to that! Thanks Sudo!
  5. Not sure if this has been discussed before, but what's the deal with HA and toilet paper/JAL's toilet paper holder?
  6. I second that! I'm not normally one to rave about silent movies, but that one's a real find. I was most impressed by the clarity of the print and the relative subtlety of the acting. And also the history of this particular print, thought to be lost but amazingly was found in a Norwegian mental institution.

Help! The Alien's got me by the nose!
  8. I left around January 1987. Didn't like being told how to manage my life from someone I didn't know and respect.
  9. Happy Belated, excie! I hope you had a great one. Have you gotten your invitations from AARP and the Red Hat Society yet? Doesn't seem right, does it? We can't be this old! I'd say more, but it's time for my nap. <<<<Big birthday hugs!>>>>
  10. How sad do you have to be to do that to someone else? I sincerely hope your last supervisor has found a life and perspective outside of the Way, cause that's just wrong. Oy! (I was going to say, "How 'anal' do you have to be..." Aren't you glad I didn't? :) )
  11. Happiest of days, Oakspear!
  12. Sounds like a diet soft drink. Or a medical procedure.
  13. You have Donny and Marie to thank for that. Seriously, when your religious group tends to be hard-working, positive, cheerful, low-pressure to convert (at least in my area and in my experience) and prosperous, most people tend to gloss over the more "non-mainline" beliefs.
  14. Sprawled, Peter Wade also occasionally checks in here. If you like, you could ask him in a Private Message. Or maybe he will answer you in this thread. He seems to be a genuinely nice individual. Or you could take my class on Contacting Peter Wade. :)
  15. And that, unfortunately, is the pattern of the Way International. When people are doing things of their own accord to bless and fellowship with other like-minded people, natural growth may or may not occur of its own accord. When TWI gets involved and starts making the rules, natural growth and excitement come to a screeching halt. Ah, well. When people finally get tired of being pushed around, they'll do something about it.
  16. I wouldn't say he was an imbecile. Whatever else he was, he was a skilled orator and a master manipulator.
  17. Speaking as a notary public.... Thank God times and customs have changed. :) Maybe it was just their way of saying, "I'm not jerking you around - and I can prove it!"
  18. Well, it explains the behavior of some of my co-workers....
  19. You all are sooooo hellbound, you know that, doncha? I can already smell your "chestnuts" roasting on an open hellfire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice try at deflection, MDVADEN. Too bad most people on this forum aren't buying it. The things of which I'm guilty is physically, financially and emotionally supporting an organization which ostensibly offered a greater and better understanding of God and Jesus Christ through their own "unique" research methods (not knowing the leaders of this organization were woefully deficient in their understanding and application), ignoring the "red flags", and not always treating people in the manner they should be treated - with kindness, respect and open-mindedness. You want to compare that with the practiced evil that went on at the highest levels of the Way? Be my guest.
  20. Boy oh boy...I wish every "innie" could read that. Not just the ones working at New Knoxville, but in every "household fellowship." You don't have to take the accusations, the lies, the innuendo, the character assassinations, the inordinate and (dare I say it) insane demands upon your life and time. There are kind, loving, decent people outside of the Way International sphere of influence. It's time to re-join the land of the living. Sorry for the derail, but Linda's statement spoke loudly to me this afternoon, because I always felt that treating people kindly, warmly and compassionately should be the absolute minimum standard of behavior in a home-run fellowship. If it's not, then perhaps it's time to re-think a few things.
  21. Well, as I posted previously.... "Open for business"
  22. Oh Belle, I know you're using the "biglaugh" emoticon, but please, please tell me you were kidding.
  23. Excellent! Congratulations!
  24. "Open for business"
  25. the Stones representatives are denying that he's suffered brain damage. <_< How could they tell?
