  1. I haven't watched HOUSE, so I can't comment. I don't know what the new NCIS director's character name is... but his "REAL" name is Rocky Carroll. However, I am NOT like him... and I think he's probably intentionally UNlikeable. After reading about the NCIS season finale, I had to figure also that Gibbs is going to get his team back. There are several key characters, but the main reason I got interested the first time I watched (which was after Ziva's predecessor had left) was because of the quirkiness of the personalities. I LOVE Ziva's malaprops... and the obvious chemistry between the team members... a comradery in spite of the fact that they all pick on each other. That might be something we can look for early in the fall season... And I remember Ducky as one of the Men from U.N.C.L.E.... Ilya Kilyakin (or something like that, if the spelling's wrong).
  2. Regarding NCIS, if Tony and Ziva are gone, the show dies... I only started watching Criminal Minds after Patinkin left... I just don't like him... but had watched Paget Brewster in Huff on Showtime.... and liked her.
  3. May 18, 2004 Game recap, Johnson's perfect game It's my understanding that this game was his only no hitter. Wikipedia -- Randy Johnson Accomplishments 10-time All-Star (1990, 1993-95, 1997, 1999, 2000-02, 2004) Led the league in ERA four times (1995, 1999, 2001, 2002) Led the league in strikeouts nine times (1992-95, 1999, 2000-02, 2004) World Series co-MVP (Curt Schilling, 2001) 5 time Cy Young Award winner (1995, 2000-03) Pitched a perfect game against the Atlanta Braves (May 18, 2004) Killed bird with fastball. Nada...
  4. Excie, I offer these, in the hope that they might help. I apologize if I didn't succeed: Steroids have caused several professional athletes to die way too young. Steroids cause a great deal of harm to the body, ESPECIALLY to adolescents whose bodies still need to finish developing into adulthood. Professional sports, especially Major League Baseball and the National Football League, did not "police" themselves to keep steroids out of their sports. Therefore, the regulator of last resort (the government), had to get involved before MLB and the NFL would get serious about stopping steroid use.
  5. I remember feeling that way when the Big Unit pitched his perfect game in Atlanta a few years ago... Simonzelotes and I were watching the game together that day... it was pretty exciting. Indeed, Francona's right... how can one not cheer for Lester to do those things!
  6. I had read, including on wikipedia, that it was related to contract talks that were never completely resolved related to next season. If you'll remember, Brass was shot at the end of a season (last year?) and lived. This one, with Warrick seems harder to overcome, but there is still ambiguity (cliff hanger?) we're left with to ponder over the summer. The problems with Gary Dourdan getting busted with drugs apparently happened AFTER they shot this season finale. The wikipedia article's been "updated" since I first looked at it Thursday night, but there's still no indication that the character has, for a certainty, died, or survived for that matter. I was stunned at the end of the show Thursday... which is why I started searching google almost right away. I never did like that undersheriff.
  7. Got it... and it played this time. Thanks... :)
  8. Well, Mstar, I wish I could play that clip... I love that kind of thing too. btw, Brandon Webb is now 9-0 in 9 starts! Dbacks won 8-5 tonight, Webb gave up 3 runs. I meant to say that the clip wouldn't play for me...
  9. He doesn't say, but does report (on his page on the other site) that he has a fellowship in his home.
  10. To a Number ONE baseball fan, and wishing and hoping, even more than for another WS championship for the Red Sox, for MANY more happy birthdays for you!
  11. Hmmm... 30 wins. Now THAT would be a heluva'n accomplishment. I don't know that anyone's brought it up in the local media or on FSN or ESPN... however, I would say another Cy Young is well within reach... and IF the offense holds up, they've got a great opportunity to go all the way. I don't know that McCain was at the game we were at. He was probably on the road yesterday. Keep him away from the button that dispatches the Big One! ;)
  12. With me and simonzelotes cheering him on this afternoon, Brandon caught the Phillies in his WEBB and earned his 8th victory of the season against ZERO losses. It was the first Dback win we've witnessed in person since some time in 2006. As always, simon was good company to go with the great baseball. :)
  13. ALL parents are when their kids are teens... no shame in that. :)
  14. You mean I have NOT been phenomenal?
  15. I got the tickets from Stubhub.com paid less, WITH shipping charges than would have buying directly from the team box office live and in person. I picked them up today at the local Fedex office. The guy said stubhub's been doing business for a couple of years now. Well, I just heard of them very recently. Anyway, season ticket holders sell tickets for whatever they think they can get. Anyway, fans from other MLB cities might want to check it out. The purchase is guaranteed. If, for any reason, the team doesn't honor the tickets, stubhub will see about either getting tickets for you OR refund your money. Anyway, Thursday day game that will be seen in AZ and Philly... and me and Simon will be in the front row of the upper deck on the third base side... :)

    Huge Lyme news

I also applaud CT attorney general Blumenthal!
  17. You did NOT acknowledge your misguided characterization of my views.
  18. And for the record, since I deleted the text of my posts earlier, Bumgarner had COMPLETELY mistaken my views. I NEVER sympathized with Oldiesman, nor attempted to justify ANYTHING that Wierwille (the grandfather) did regarding the sexual abuse of young women. NEVER.
  19. never mind... and thanks again to Pawtucket for appropriately editing out threats made by another poster.
  20. thank you Pawtucket for deleting Bumgarner's post, therefore, I too remove it from here.
  21. Anyone remember Micah Owings? Last year's NL silver slugger award winner, the second year pitcher hit a game tying PINCH-HIT 2 RUN HR this afternoon in a game that the Dbacks overcame a poor start by Randy Johnson to win 8-7. Key word: PINCH-HIT! Amazing.
  22. Why is RD not identified in the email or at the beginning of the interview?
  23. I know how to contact them, if someone wants to know, let me know I can get word to them.
  24. Okay, so ssri's are not YOUR drug of choice, no problem, my mistake. You MADE my point. Thank you. Not at all... I can't imagine your sad that I don't go there to bug you any more. AGAIN. THIS thread, as started by Gilligan, was a legitimate discussion. Ham, on the other hand, has some serious screws loose and that other discussion is some pretty solid evidence thereof, if he (and you) want to try to make anyone believe it was anything but a way to slam someone that you really (regardless of whether Ham has met the young man) DON'T know.
