TheEnd...It's not wrong or unusual to feel that way. I still miss my best friend that's still in. We were like sisters but in the end she rejected me. She also ended up rejecting her husband that just got out too (although she doesn't reject his money). Some hurts just never quite heal. But we deal with it somehow & move on with our lives. It sounds healthy that you are at a place in your life where you can finally grieve your loss. Get close to friends & family. Over time, things will fade & new things will replace them (not your children of course). Be there for those lovely daughters because one day, they will be able to make their own decisions. You are loved & understood friend.

Could it be that even Loy boy has figured out that life is more worth living outside of "Zion"? Heck, he's probably getting serviced a lot more often & receiving a considerable retirement in return for his silence. He's got it made!

What I got out of Colombo asking about Peeler's background is that they are going to try to say that Dr Peeler is a very intellegent individual (which no doubt he is). But how could such a smart guy give money & do things that he really didn't want to do? I have even heard poeple here at GS make this statement to others about "you were a big girl/boy...you knew what you were doing". It's all a song & dance for the judge & jury. I'm sure that Dr Peeler's lawyers wil be prepared for that.

CC these things take time & time is on twi's side. They will try to delay & postpone as much as possible. It also seemed tome to be more of a fact finding hearing to determine if the suit would move forward (or back to the state court instead of federal). No witnesses were there for either side, only defendants & plaintiff's.

Makes you just wish that you could chip in your own 2 cents worth. Like: "It was the fear in the heart of that mother that killed that child". Or: When the wc yelled at me for an hour (in front of several witnesses) that I caused my 2 miscarraiges because my abs wasn't enough. And by the way, when did it get back down to tithing. If you'd been there awhile, you'd better cough up more! What a bunch of liars. The underlings don't realize it, but if it boils down to it, Stinson, Roberts & all the rest of them will be sacrificed. I really saw that in rr's part. did anyone else? Thanks for all the work & effort to post this. PS: They should do exerpts from Sunday Teaching Tapes to prove their point. Even if it's all during lcm's time, they would need to show (in writing or whatever), when what he taught was changed. Wasn't there even something in the new improved adv class that touched on debt? I'll contribute to her when someone there contributes to my mother who is almost out of money (doesn't have alzheimers though). To put it politely, we still think of her as the queen mother & therefore deserving of special attention & support. I'm sure you know lots of sweet people that you wouldn't give any money to. I totally agree that she was very capable of speaking out. Even if she wasn't in a position of speaking out, I'm sure at any time one of her kids would have taken her in if she really disagreed with what was going on & wanted out. I'm really not bitter, but there must have been some underlying reason that she stayed. Maybe she enjoyed her status. Who knows. It's time to take care of our own families. And please, I mean no offense to anyone that wants to give.I personally just think there are more needy people out there than Mrs Wierwille.

I remember being taught that if you follow leadership (including vp & lcm) then even if leadership was wrong, God would homor your obedience. So damded if you do and damded if you don't...just obey! Be good! Don't talk back! I know ofa time when the lcm "affair" was announced in fellowship. When asked later in the meeting what we thought, most of us little robots tried to justify it with the David & Bathsheba thing amongst others. One lady had the balls to say that maybe it would cause us to be a little more humble & not to think so much higher of ourselves over others. Well the wc leader ripped her a new one in front of everyone. How dare she! It was definately inferred that they were infallable. After all, God does talk to them all the time, right? -->

I think some of the reason why people thought that vpw's way was so much nicer than lcm's is that there were still a lot of kind & loving people in twi while vp was at the helm. Lots that were just trying to do God's Word. lcm succeeded in chasing off all but the most hardened folks (except when some were forced to stay for whatever reason) & 95% of the leadership were complete a-holes. vp was the snake oil salesman. Really smooth when he needed to be. He should be given credit for finding a way to suck us in & has most of us begging for more. But that doesn't make him right or good. There is no good excuse for vp or lcm. The harm they both did is completely unacceptable. And some of those who say that pfal changed them & vpw showed the way aren't really saying much for God's ability to reveal Himself to them. God is bigger than vp.

I learned a few words I didn't know but the rest was bs. Like someone really needed to tell us to masturbate!

I can forgive anyone that asks. There are some that are probably still in twi that know what they are doing. I don't think I can forgive them. A lot of folks were just a duped as we were. Those I can forgive. Forgiving is on an individual basis. If my best friend were to leave & want to see me, I wouldn't even have to forgive her. I would tell her that I understand. Those that run that place...some of them don't deserve forgiveness. They know what they are doing & they are taking it for all it's worth. But, that doesn't mean that I dwell on it. Hey, I got some good verbal abuse. 6 people in a room accused me (some yelling at me) of causing my own 2 miscariages because I wasn't giving enough money. My poor husband was like a deer in headlights. He didn't say a word to help me.

Sorry Raf that I said that these folks still worship vpw's writings. I should have said following his teachings. Otherwise, why would they want them? The nice thing is that even if someone doesn't end up paying, you can either offer it to the lower bidder, or relist them. The books have a very low listing rate, unlike higher dollar items. Usually under 50 cents. One of the things I tried to do, expecially on things not directly done by vpw, was to put a line at the bottom of the ad saying "recommended reading by vp wierwille & the way international". That's how I sold my Witness of the Stars book. That is very important on any Martindale books. After I was through, I had some things left over & emailed former buyers to see if they wanted them & sold some things that way. I wish I would have done it earlier.

I made a lot of money just recently on all my old books. If you still have them, it's worth it to list them. Its better to list them individually & not as a group so people can buy them as they want them. I sold EVERY SINGLE WIERWILLE book! I made about $500! People still worship vpw's writings & can't buy them from twi directly. Believe me, they will go almost immediately.

What's the big deal? If possible, you whisper to them to get a tissue. if you can't, you get their attention discreetly & do the hand signal. I mean, it's not like everyone hasn't spotted it any way. Believe me, even though the person may be a little embarrassed, they'll be less embarrassed than if they carried on for a long time with it just hanging there.

It is impossible to reason with a dictatorship, plain & simple. The only hope that twi would have is to have more of a democracy. Until that time, forget it. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The really pathetic thing is that these leaders are 100% convinced that they are the God life line.

Reno is wonderful. I have lived here for over 15 years & I still love it. It is brown & relatively unadorned by a lot of greenery, but many of those things are within 1/2 hour. There is nothing more beautiful than Lake Tahoe. Downtown Reno is for tourists...just like the Mustang Ranch. Don't judge the area because of those kind of things. Jobs are still available here. I just got a job here earning more than I ever have & I have taken the last 6 years off. Victoria's Secret is....no one under 30 can wear any of this stuff!!! All kidding aside. I love their stuff (I'm a female). The clothes are wonderful & are about the only ones that have jeans that fit me. The bra's & lingerie are great too. They must mail about 3 catalogs a week. I love them! I agree that if you got it, flaunt it. Most every woman I know likes to look sexy sometimes. And really, if it were a bunch of plus size ladies up their (no offense intended), people wouldn't be complaining about female exploitation. They would be called brave or "you go girl!. Just my humble (middle aged) opinion.

Well... I'm a girl, plus I'm lucky to have gotten out of the way, plus I live in a state that has a lot of gambling. I thought it was pretty clever!

I must disagree. It makes wonderful cookies that everyone raves about. I made tons of them one year as christmas gifts. Everyone gobbled them up.
