  1. That has happened to me, too, EX70s, hehe  and I remember thinking one time, "Why don't they just take that verse out of the Bible?" It was kinda painful that after all this time someone couldn't read it without HIS face/voice appearing in my mind. It was a yucky feeling.
  2. Gosh, CW, I'm glad all but that one couple are still friends to this day. That's pretty good odds sometimes when you have even ONE loyal friend. Most of my friends to this day are ex-twi. Don't get me wrong, I've made lots of OTHER friends along the way (sorry, hehe), but still, the ones I really trust and confide in are usually ex-twi. Strange, but true.
  3. Linda, Hi! My mother just had a whole row of trees cut down in her backyard. She said someone she trusts told her to cut a deep "X" in the remaining stumps with an axe and that would cause the stumps to rot. Since they were just cut down less than a month ago, it's too soon to tell if it worked. I'll try to remember to keep you posted, though. Hope you find the solution you need soon. wb
  4. Their teachings on "to know" were just wrong. It doesn't mean to get someone pregnant everytime. My answer to the original question is "probably not" since that's the way they taught it. So much of their teachings were sensationalism and meant to be different from what you'd get in a denominational church.
  5. Imbus, excellent posts. I'm so happy for you that you are healed. You reminded me of Song of Solomon when you mentioned your beloved. I would love to say someday, that I know I'm healed, but for now I know I'm on my way and am at peace about it, so it's ok :-)
  6. Happy Birthday, Ala, sweetie!
  7. I started to say, yes, I'll agree to all that you said, but when I saw the Sower in the link, I thought but you don't need them to tell you this--they surely got it from a good book or one of them has gone or is in therapy and is just passing it on to their "little followers." Why not go to your own therapy from a qualified therapist and really get the help you need? You are certainly worth it, dear frisco :-) If $$ is an issue, why not go to a clinic that does it on an income basis? I saw a Christian Couselor for over a year for $15 per time and trust me, it was worth it. They usually have the clinics on or near theological schools. The one I went to got some flack from the denominations because this one was non-denominational and supposedly most of the professors at the seminary didn't believe Jesus is God. Imagine that! Anyway, I'm just letting you know there is much more out ther, and yes, it does hurt when the past comes up. It also gets better with time. I wish you well :-)

    My grad

...what Safari said...yes, she looks just like an ANGEL!!! You must be sooooo proud of her!
  9. Wow. You are such a fantastic photographer! Thanks for letting us view them (didn't want to say "sharing with us." Hehe)
  10. Congratulations WW!! I know you are so proud of yourself and you should be!
  11. Belle, I dunno, I just left and never looked back. No, my life was still screwed up in ways because of faulty thinking, but eventually I learned how to communicate with others without looking for a debbil under every rock and began to recover. I'm sorry all of that happened to you so soon after leaving. Take care, wb
  12. Who did you go to? Mine were horrible! Well, all except one. The girl must have known what she was doing that time. Some of them think if they don't make you squeal they aren't doing their job.
  13. I'm sloppy chucklesniffer. Duh
  14. Nice touch, Safari, using a painting by an older man who liked boys to make your point. Hehe. Roy, I couldn't understand your last post. Are we agreeing now or disagreeing? I couldn't make out what you said. Sorry :-(
  15. Goey, Al, T-bone, Ex10, and Tom thanks!
  16. Roy, oooooooooooooo. I see. No, I didn't say he is gay. I was responding to what you said about he was yelling in order to teach people something. I disagree that he was trying to teach people how to lead a Godly life by yelling obscenities and using vulgar phrases and epithets to describe the gay lifestyle. I have no idea if he is or isn't gay. I'm very sure that he isn't a Christian teacher or minister, though, and hasn't been probably since the late or mid 70s.
  17. Hi again, Roy, just responding to: I understand all that yelling he did gets people to think but thinking can just be a guess and I think we need facts before we dirty our good name on maybe's First of all, LCM has the kind of name that he has earned. Secondly, yes, that was always his excuse for using all of that profanity, but it just doesn't wash. If you would like to lead someone to a holy life, then doing unholy and vulgar things is not the way to do it, is it? Just imho. wb
  18. I dunno Roy. Maybe we're speculating because it's mentally stimulating to look at something from all angles--especially when the perpetrator has exhibited criminal behavior previously. Those things that WW quoted don't fit with a minister's "sermon" and we're just trying to make sense of it all. That's all.
  19. OK, here's the one that I put up in my room by the bird cage...AND one of the baby boys flew a bit today and then couldn't get back into the nest. It was so funny to watch him try. He was so cute balancing himself on that perch until he fell off. Here goes: PEEPS (reworked) Huddled together Hungry, soft, fluffy finches Chirping, waiting PEEPS
  20. yeah, rascal, and i like what you said about knowing something is wrong but justifying doing with the "it doesn't apply to me" attitude. i wish i had a dollar...hehehe... doesn't the Bible say somewhere in Romans that even the creation is groaning waiting for the sons of God to be manifested or appear? surely, not for them to walk according to the evil one's plan and desires. i think it means that even creation or nature is waiting for mortals to do what is right, God's way, etc., and how refreshing that would be for even the trees and birds and animals and plants and all of the created things--including man. ...not to mention that we have the Holy Spirit inside us to tell us when we're doing right and convict us when we're doing wrong. again, i wish i had a dollar for all of the times i did something i knew was wrong, but ignored that feeling inside and followed vp's analytical stewed-up doctrine instead.
  21. WHEN do you think Peter crucified him? Just curious. Interesting theory. I don't have a problem with reading The Gospel of Judas. Might learn something. I've always thought there were a lot of holes in what happened to Judas, also. What you said, Goey! I'll second that. Hehe.
  22. OFM! Last time I saw you was in gs chat. Glad you're well. wb
