How about 'Cherish' by the Association, or the song that replaced it as #1 that year, 'Light my fire'. Aw, hell, fast forward 20 yrs to 'Get it girl' by 2 live crew.

It's all romantic. Sometimes I feel like 'You shook me all night long', sometimes I feel like 'Cherish'.

I want to say THANKS SO MUCH to everyone that contributed, I've got a great collection now!!!

The reason I was after that particular kind of music, is I find the music is so mellow, I'm an incurable romantic, and I like the sounds of it as I'm working away on my art pieces and spring is on the way!!

So thanks, I really appreciate it!!

Ex...........I used to listen to that song over and over growing up, I loved it but I can't seem to find the person or people who did it the way I had heard it, it's orginally done by Rod McKuen but I don't particularily care for the way her does it. Have you heard it done by anyone else besides him?

Ex.............I must say that's an beautiful version or rendition of it, thanks!! I know there's still another one out there and there was more instrumental music to it, along with the words, I remember it was on some record that had awhole pile of hits along with it.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Moonglow and Theme from "Picnic"

On a picnic morning,

Without a warning,

I looked at you,

And somehow I knew . . .

It must have been Moonglow,

Way up in the blue,

It must have been Moonglow,

That led me straight to you . . .

I still hear you sayin'

Dear heart hold me fast,

And I start in prayin'

Oh Lord, please let this last,

We . . . seem to float right through the air,

Heavenly songs seem to come from everywhere,

An' now when there's Moonglow,

Way up in the blue,

I always remember,

That Moonglow gave me you . . .

You and I in the sunshine,

We strolled the fields and far,

Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere,

And now when there's Moonglow

Way up in the blue,

I always remember,

That Moonglow gave me you,

That Moonglow gave me you,

That Moonglow gave me you . . .

As far as the song "Jean" goes, I found two other people that do it..............Bobby Goldsboro and The Lettermen but still not the one I am looking for, what else can I look up?

...........and Mr Dove, you are going to pay pick time for that!! LOL!!

Is the one you are looking for the version by Oliver?

It is from the movie"The Prime of Miss Jean Brody"(1969) starring Maggie Smith.

Oliver sang this for the movie as well as for release as a record(if I remember correctly.)

Has anyone mentioned "Trust in Me" by Etta James?

That's another great oldie love song.

Also: Could it be a version by Rod McKuen you are looking for? He wrote the song.

Here's one for you. It was my mom and dad's song when he was overseas in WWII:

Artist: Billie Holiday

Song: I'll Be Seeing You

I'll be seeing you

In all the old familiar places

That this heart of mine embraces

All day through.

In that small cafe;

The park across the way;

The children's carousel;

The chestnut trees;

The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you

In every lovely summer's day;

In every thing that's light and gay.

I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you

In the morning sun

And when the night is new.

I'll be looking at the moon,

But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you

In every lovely summer's day;

In every thing that's light and gay.

I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you

In the morning sun

And when the night is new.

I'll be looking at the moon,

But I'll be seeing you.

Krys,

The theme from Picnic was my Mom and Dad's song. They got married when Dad was 20, and mom was 19, when Dad was on break from college his sophomore year. Dad proposed after he took Mom to see that movie. They met when Mom was in 7th grade and Dad in 8th, and "went steady" all through high school. They were married for 46 years, til Dad passed away.

Sigh.....
