My wife and I adopted a baby girl this week. She's utterly priceless. 10 months old. She came to us in foster care, premature, 2 weeks old. Then she got RSV and nearly died.

Mom never showed up. Neither did any other relative.

Fast forward and the adoption was final yesterday. 

We are over the moon.

Very happy for you both - no, for you all.  All best for a long and happy future. 

Tremendous that you could rescue her from such uncaring birth parents.

I know you don't espouse Christianity any more but this came to mind in relation to your new little girl: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You are certainly giving her hope and a future. 

What's her name?

We Frankensteined her name from parts of all our other kids' names.

Turns out the name we made up exists. It's an alternate spelling of Leilani, which is Hawaiian and means "Heavenly garland of flowers" or "Royal child."

So basically we named her Princess.
