Eve never had a renewed mind. She was perfect when she was created and experienced corruption when she and her husband disobeyed God. Renewing of the mind is something entirely new that comes with the new nature, which is God's answer to our corruption. Renewing of one's mind is a concept in the Church epistles, thus belonging in the category of the great mystery of God.

Like, "the word of God is the will of God." Means, "the Bible as I teach it is the will of God as I interpret God for you." From the TWI PoV, it certainly does NOT mean: "Jesus Christ [and what he preached] is the will of God." Particularly since we were actively discouraged from reading the gospels, those naughty OT records!

I'm not familiar with that one. Hits me as a mumbo jumbo of contradictory or disparate 'stuff' spirit = the nonphysical part of a person which is the seat of emotions and character; the soul; a metaphysical reference. light = the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible; understanding of a problem or mystery; enlightenment concretion = a hard solid mass formed by the local accumulation of matter. "Spirit of God is the light of God..." - okay, maybe we're talking the Holy Spirit's enlightenment - but "in concretion" ????????????!? WTF does that mean? Adam officiated the wedding ceremony? The way I see it is Genesis is a story (myth) of creation of humanity. Is it literally true? I doubt it. Is it true in the way (creation) myths of other cultures are true, which is in providing humans in such cultures to understand the foundational concepts at issue at the time? I think so. I am not a-theistic. I'm not challenging the existence of God. Does Genesis or any other book use the word "husband?" How does one become a husband? This is a question of cultural anthropology.

For me, this whole thread is textbook The Way International. They make outrageous claims: Wait until you see the life God has for you. Go WOW and you'll mature spiritually 10 years. God will meet all your needs Then, after they've been called on the carpet by people falling on their face believing those claims, the make up excuses: You didn't believe It wasn't God"s will Well, God has a budget and you're not on it.

Twinky, I am thrilled that we, who survived our time in twi and examine it backward, can share for those willing to live forward with our insight. Thats a really good point, Rocky. I think we see this in the parables taught by Jesus where the Kingdom of Heaven is likened unto.....and then the parable would contain lessons on God and his creation in ways that could be easily understood.

Mike your budget idea shows the constraints of your self censorship to PFlappy collaterals for 3 decades. I don’t come up with your ideas just comment on them. There is no hate in my heart towards you. That’s ridiculous. I just comment on the bondage that I see from the path you have taken. But instead of taking to heart what I am saying you have a natural defense reaction of accusing others of the very thing they are pointing out to you. The only mind control is your self imposed control from running with blinders on. I’m not winning arguments this isn’t a debate. It is a forum where comments flow sequentially in time though. There is no condemnation to any in Christ. But the bondage of self censorship to plagiarized materials is definitely damaging to any Christ relationship. You come up with a half baked idea. Then you sling it out here and whine when others say your cake is half baked. It is not belittling to point out ideas that are little because of where they grew up. Look it is a very very very simple concept that if you live in a sheltered world in Biblical research you will form ideas that are not going to jive with the rest of the body of Christ. VPW was the king of conspiracy theories. He could find them in a single comma in the Bible. Caving in to conspiracy theorists will leave you trying to protect your mind from aliens with a tinfoil hat.

I don't know...I've slept since then excuse me - couldn't resist...it was lights out by midnight [sometimes we could get to bed sooner depending on variables...and sometimes if wife or I stayed up after midnight to work on research paper, a teaching, etc. we'd cover window and door threshold to prevent light leaks - cuz there were roving hall monitors - best of the best - crack SS troops who were authorized to shut down violators...the lights-Nazis - "no lights for you"] and typically we'd get up about 5 AM...so on average we got about 5 hours of sleep.
