I think this has a far deeper spiritual meaning than the original translators "translated". We tend to always stop at the limits of the physical body. Much like the modern churches. I agree with what you are saying Long Gone - again it has to be common sense that prevails. I would never want to leave my BooBoo Kitty behind as I have had him since he was a kitten and he is like a little kid to me sometimes (except when he gets annoying hahaha - I can lock him in the bathroom - can't do that with the kids). But if it came down to my kids or my cats or my life for that matter, guess the kitty would be on his own. Alot of this is pre-planning also and taking what the officials are telling you seriously. It is good though that the pets are being evacuated also, in the sense they do give comfort to those who have and probably will lose most of everything they have materially. Especially for the children and elderly. Those bonds can be quite strong.

Texas is allowing people to evacuate on the busses with their pets. They will also have adequate areas in the shelters for the pets to be provided for. I understand this was a reason that alot of folks in LA did not want to evacuate. Again Bravo Texas for taking all of the peoples needs seriously.

The Parish Sheriff is holding Pasado Rescuers back with armed guards, depsite the fact that we have full vans, loaded with animals - the result of a 19 hour day of rescue. We individuals need to speak out - call local media, whoever you can, the state vet needs to cut the bureaucracy and allow foster families from around the country to take these animals From their website....
