I am not sure you can blame the tiger here. OK. Humans can be very "not bright" at times but come on..... http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/4869665/detail.html

However, one evening while dining in that same restaurant, I ran into this older couple who was in our fellowship. They are in their early to mid 90's now and they were as sweet and wonderful as ever. Their son is on staff at HQ. They told me that they were still in the Way and really enjoyed their fellowship and they had a new leader from another state and said that "everything is so much better now". I told them I was happy for them and gave them great big hugs. I was happy to see them. They are so loving.....

Now what is really strange about this story is that I ran into above restaurant woman's husband (who was of course the actual coordinator) at same said restaurant, and he acted like I was a long lost friend. He asked me all kinds of questions about my kids and how I was doing and I was shocked. We had about a 10 minute conversation and never once was the Way or anything negative brought up. So what is the deal? Are we kinder and gentler or what?? Or is it now each individuals have the option?? Inquiring minds want to know....

Wow if I ever had any doubts about him being a scheister (is that how you spell that?), this thread has certaily dispelled that. Reading this thread took me back to the first PFAL I sat through....gosh how young and gullible I was now that I think back. 18 years old and just out of high school, took the class, went to the Rock in Sidney, got recruited for Way Marketing program by Je**y Jac*s and Ste*e Hu**man while at the rock, left for North Carolina the day after the rock, parents really ticked off at me, but I was gun ho for God. In a way, it was so exciting, in other ways, I feel I was so gullible. I don't condemn myself for that now, but it just amazes me how I sat and listened to vic in PFAL and just believed everything he said. I didn't know the man from Adam but I believed every word he said. He truly took advantage I believe of the Hippie Movement. Then there's How*ard A**en. He reminds me of the red neck side kick of the rural con-man (kinda like Mr. Haney on Green Acres :)--> I can hear them planning it in the cornfields of Ohio now. *How*rd: Hey vic, you be the teacher and I'll just be your right hand man. You got the charisma, so that's why you get to be the preacher. Yuck Yuck. Vic: Yeah How*ard, man don't worry, you'll get a cut. I will even make you secretary-treasurer. How*rd: Hey man thanks. Yuck Yuck Vic: Just try to act spiritual buddy, you know around the kids. Don't want anyone to be the wiser. I might even throw in some sob story, you know about how I stayed up all night and like my eye fell out or something from the lights. How*rd: Hey that's a good one Vic Yuck Yuck." Thank you Lord for freeing me from this insanity.

Our entire fellowship had to have a sleep over on New Years Eve at the coordinator's house one year to make sure no one was out after midnight. My teenage daughter threw a fit.But being the "good" twiggie mom that I was, I made her attend. This was for some reason that year, from Martinpuke, some kind of great revelation that he got. Geez.....

Speaking of C*nnie Panzer*elli, I remember a teaching she once did during the homo purge regarding going into a store to purchase an item. She was absolutely certain that the salesperson was a "homo" so she flat out refused to allow this person to wait on her and made a big fuss with the management that she did not want a "homo" to wait on her. We all laughed and thought how great, what a stand, what a woman, that she would stand her ground like that. How sick is that.......

But you twiggies better get that report in on time with the intimate details of your love and sex life with your spouse. You have until 5pm close of business day to submit the above formentioned form to your coordinator or else....

Please keep this updated Jeff - I am close and would attend and let her children know their mom was loved.....

We were "mark and avoid" in Feb of 2000. My 15 year old daughter works in a restaurant and the other day the wife of the HFC who was in the meeting when we were "kicked out" came into the restaurant. She was waiting at the door and no one was waiting on her so my daughter (who recognized her - it has been 5 years) gave her a menu. She stated she wanted to get a to go order of dessert. At the time my daughter didn't figure she recognized her. About 5 minutes later she walked up to my daughter, and called her by her first name and stated that there were no deserts listed in the menu. Other than acknowledging her name, she never once spoke to my child during the entire event. For some reason no one was waiting on her, so after about 10 minutes my daughter went and told a waitress that the woman needed to place an order. I was so proud of my daughter. The 50+ year old woman acted like a child, and my child acted like the adult. She rose above the childish Way mentality. She was a busser that night and she could have just ignored her and gone about her work, but she chose to take the high road. The kicker, this woman is a teacher and a librarian in our area. Someone who you would think would treat any child equally and caringly. What a bunch of horse poo poo. This incident reminded me of the time my other daughter went on 2 Canadian trips with her music teacher and of course all the other kids. One of the women in this same fellowship was the music assistant at the high school and would be attending as a chaperone. We had already been "booted" and the music teacher would never again talk to my child as per the directions of the above mentioned woman in the restaurant. This concerned me as a parent, that this assistant was going as a chaperone. What if my child were in trouble and this was the only person to help her. Would she help her or pretend she didn't exist? I think any parent would be equally concerned. So I took my concerns to the choir director and told him that we had been "ostracized" from this teachers "church" (I spoke in non-way terms, so he could understand). That it was the Way's policy when someone is mark and avoid to do just that. He spoke to that assistant about my concerns and he assured me that if she allowed her religious dogma to interfere with the safety of my child, that she would certainly be held accountable for it. And he said he let her know that in no uncertain terms. That made me feel more comforted about the trip and more adult in the way I handled it then the way they do. These adult teachers should be ashamed of themselves....

Does anybody remember the Advanced Class at HQ where Martinfail was the class coordinator (2000 or 2001, can't remember, but do know I had to get out of debt to attend)? Do you remeber the part about all the old sayings really being like from devil spirits and stuff.... We had to sit in our study groups and we came up with this list, for example, a little birdie told me......was really a devil spirit whispering in your ear. The whole thing seems absolutely silly to me now. We came up with this whole list of cliches sayings and "read into them a devilish meaning." Chances are somebody who posts here attended that.

It is truly hard to believe that this person was left to his own free will to check in with our legal system..... http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/07/12/idaho.ch...n.ap/index.html

BluzieQ - you go girl! Toward the end of the nineties, early 2000, I sat in many a STS where Martinfail discussed the importance of all our kids attending college. I believe his daughter was attending Bowling Green and if memory serves me correct, he tried to influence (put out an edict)a lot of the college bound age kids to attend there also. You know so they would all be together and all be safe. I guess HIS GOD is not big enough to keep them all safe if they were spread out all over. Also, you were not allowed to take loans out for this, you must pay for it all and continue to be debt free. (I am sure, with all due respect to his daughter) that alot of our ABS paid her tuition though. Anywhoos, my daughter did not want to go to Bowling Green and on May 22 of this year just graduated (Proud MaMa) from Ohio Northern University. She doesn't seem any worse for the wear. She nows has a BA in psychology with a minor in sociology. Although when we were marked and avoided, my children were terriby frightened that at any moment they could die. By having to refute this over and over to my children, I began to realize how horrible this TWI had become, to instill this kind of fear into us and our children. Worse was that I allowed it. I have apologized to my children for this and they are now cool with everything and doing just fine in their schooling and soon to be new career (for the oldest). I thought it odd that he so propounded college for all the kids. Wouldn't this open their minds to so many new ways of thinking?? I am thinking he felt they were the future of the ministry and by getting degrees and making good money, the ABS would continue to flow his way. What a freak he was and is. Welcome to greasespot world. -->

Unbelieveable - sounds like the mafia, send money and you will be protected, don't come to fellowship but we will send someone around once a week to pick up your ABS. If that isn't TWI showing it's true colors, I don't know what is. Just out of curiosity, I was marked and avoided, but those who were on "spiritual probation" (has anyone ever seen that phrase in the bible?) were you still required to ABS? I am thinking that I heard that people still had to ABS.

I have been to a couple of churches and also seen folks on TV really get into the worship in music. It does look very liberating. To not care what others in the room think of you and just really baring your heart to God. I have always been too uncomfortable to do that though. After all, aren't we just supposed to sit on a couch and sing the same sometime infantile songs over and over and over and over.......

If you follow the logic of LCM that would be self-gratification...... :)-->

Lengthy court battle with The Way ends.....
outofdafog replied to outofdafog's topic in About The Way
This is the same judge (Schmitt) that recently was arrested in an adjoining county for drunk driving. This is the second judge in Shelby County who has been arrested for a DUI. The other is the civil court judge (I better be careful because I have an eviction hearing in front of him on July 20. I manage a 110 unit apartment complex and at times have to appear before him for an eviction). He was sitting on the bench for several months wearing an ankle bracelet and passing judgement on other drunk drivers. DUH -

From what I can understand from the article is that she and her husband do have access to her still born child's final resting place. But nobody else does.
