Headlines July 6, 2005 Sidney Daily News Beginning of article: A lengthy court battle involving the Way International is apparently complete. Shannon Bottoms of Nashville, Tenn. will reportedly not contest an order by Judge John D. Schmitt in Shelby County Common Pleas Court. The entry ends a case seeking access to two Way International cemetaries, The Way Woods and The Garden of Living Waters, by Bottoms and Douglas R. McMullan of Raleigh, Miss. The lawsuit was originally filed Sept. 29, 2004 by the pair, claiming previous oral promises allowing access were not kept. Bottoms had a still born son buried in the Way Woods site in 1978, while McMullen claimed a right of access because he had friends buried there. McMullen had been dismissed from the lawsuit as having no standing, Schmitt had ruled last December. In his current ruling, Schmitt stated The Way International has the right to establish rules and regulations regarding the cemetary, and the rules and regulations are reasonable and necessary. However, Schmitt also ruled that Bottoms and her husband Dennis, have an easement to the burial plot and to the Way Woods site, but not the Garden of Living Waters, as she has no relatives buried there. He also ruled no trust exists for access, as such a trust is required to be specific and in writing. McMullan had been arrested three times for trying to enter the cemetaries without signing a waiver, which specified the sites were private property. In his December ruling, Schmitt had thrown out McMullan's claim of right of access, stating oral statements, on which McMullan based his claim of right of access, were not enforcable. He also ruled then that McMullan had no right to claim injury, since he had no relatives buried at either site. While sustaining the right of Dennis and Shannon Bottoms to access to The Way Woods site, and to the burial plot, he also noted depositions showed neither parent had sought access between 1979 and 2003. He also noted that they disaffiliated themselves with the Way International in the mid-1980's. In the most recent activity, attorneys for Bottoms have stated that Bottoms will not appeal the decision which allows her and her husband, but no non-relatives to visit.

From news stories it appears that this is this man's blog. Three days or so before the murders he stated something about killing himself and taking some with him. (Too bad he didn't just kill himself-why they have to take innocent others with them is beyond me). Since his arrest the blog and website have been shut down but apparently can be read in the archives as gc has found. I think we all need to act by contacting our congressmen and demanding these sicko's be permanently removed from society. The little girl's story is coming out as told to a police investigator. This guy is the one who bound the family in the living room (she was asleep and her mother was forced to wake her up and bring her into the living room) by this individual. He is placed at the scene of the murder by the little girl. It is unsure whether she witnessed the murders as she stated she and her brother were bound and put into a pick up truck outside the house. She then goes on to tell the investigator that during the 5 weeks she was missing, she and her brother were repeatedly raped by this scumbag. She herself did not use the word raped, but from the interview and her words, this is what occured. Unbelieveable, that with his record, this guy was even allowed out to roam the streets.

They found the little girl that has been missing since May 15 when her parents and one of her brothers were slain in their home. Both herself and her other brother had been apparently kidnapped by a Level 3 Sex Offender KNOWN TO THE SYSTEM This creep came into a Denny's last night about 2 am with the little girl and a waitress said she seemed real familiar. Of course the local news had her picture often in the paper. As he entered the Denny's he tore down the missing poster of the two children that was hanging on the window. The waitress and coworker checked a newspaper from a couple days before and called the police. The waitress convinced the guy to get a milk shake and then took her time making it so the police had time to arrive. Unfortunately, they still aren't sure about the little brother that had been kidnapped with her. Another one in and out of the system. When will we learn?

This is one sick puppy. He would tell his victims that he was going to tie them up and then rape them. In reality, he strangled or suffocated them and then had "sexual fantasies" over or on their dead bodies. The most blood chilling testimony though was when he talked about how "upset" (DUH) his victims were and he would "comfort" them beforehand. One woman vomited and he said he could tell that she was upset so he gave her a glass of water to comfort her before he strangled her. Stunning confessions clinically stated. No words to describe that type of evil.

How about the guy they just arrested that had journals about the 36,000 boys he molested over the years. In and out of prison, but the operative word is "out", why was he continually let "out" to abuse again. I just read a news article where a 12 year old girl accidently transposed the cell phone # of her father and instead got a wrong number. The gentleman on the other end (total stranger) somehow was able to talk her into meeting him three times and having sex. The mother found an sexually explicit letter from the daughter to this man in the daughters room and this is how the mother found out - then went after the man. Instead of the 75 years he was facing for raping this young girl three times he plea bargained and received only 10 years. So 10 years from now he will be out molesting another little girl. Seems our lawmakers still aren't learning and hearing what the public wants. I think there is enough evidence that these guys don't change their ways, so we need to keep them in prison for life.

That's rather an odd thing to say ladies. Maybe you should just "go away" from the thread if you don't care for what is being discussed. Lots of people have shared alot of their heart here, hardly a nice thing to do to just dismiss them.....

Hey Roy, I read your story on your website and that was quite a story. I gather that you searched for purpose and didn't give up until you seemed to have found it. Something I notice in all your posts, is how you seem to be able to come across with such child-like believing and you seem to see a level of love that some are not able to. You come across as God's love being able to transcend all, bottom line. Pretty neat I think. Seems you have suffered enough to truly understand some things. Peace........

This makes a lot of sense to me. See, this is the kind of story that makes me wonder, there were so many wonderful people in TWI who truly loved God and his Word. How did things get so "****ered" up. Ego? of the upper echelon? It had to be, because I personally believe that Doc Vic (praise be his name) started out as truly wanting to be a teacher of "the truth" but somewhere along the way, the "ego" and "adulation" of his followers caused him to go astray. Perhaps, some of this is "our collective" fault for putting so much of our faith (and/or) believing in a man, instead of Jesus Christ. How our adulation must have fed his ego. Ditto, to Craig....we often blame it all on TWI, but how many of us fed the "beast" with our worship of man. I know that turned me off alot of the time, when people tripped over their own feet to please "leadership." There were times that I did it, so I am in no way judging anyone else. But the day I was told that my own "flesh and blood" (my brother) should not live with me, that because he would not take the class, I had to either move out or kick him out, was the last straw. Yes, it was a confrontation with the TWIG leader and the BRANCH coordinator. Me against them (at least that is what if felt like that night). Me and the TWIT coordinator and his wife and the BRANCH leader. All sitting in their living room and they had a list of grievences against me and proceeded to expound upon them one by one. Know what? Brother is very successful now, because I chose him over TWI. From a full fledged alcholic and full time cocaine addict, he has now been manager of a local restaurant for over 5 years. Know what else. I have prospered more since I have been out of TWI than ever when I was in it. Okay off topic, I know, but wanted to say this....

You know sometimes I think this thread could be merged with "the voice of God". I think that instantaneous healing that some have experienced is that "still small voice" that speaks to your heart and to your heart only. E.W. Kenyons writings had a profound effect on me. Especially "Jesus the Healer". I believe that was the name of the book. The reality of what Jesus truly suffered is beyond us I think. I believe the crucifixtion was more than just a "crown of thorns" with blood droplets oozing down the face. If Jesus, suffered for all of us, and had to experience "all of our sins" and "disbelief" then the hatred of the devil would have to be enormous, and the physical suffering had to be more than just a picture hanging on your living room wall with droplets of blood on his forehead. He had to take the "whole" sin of humanity and bear it for us. This is truly awesome if you think about it. And ugly. I got pretty nauseated during Mel Gibson's film, "The Passion of the Christ". I had to turn away, and I believe with all my heart that Jesus truly suffered multiple times more than the film depicted. In order to take the whole of humanity's sin, it must have been pure hatred on the part of those who partook in his beatings and tauntings. I do not pretend to understand it all, but in my own personal life, in the depth of my heart, God performed a miracle for me. Life is a journey, not every path will be rose petaled, but it is a truly wonderful learning experience, if you can look at it that way. I do believe we each decide our own destinations by our thoughts (call it believing or whatever), but even the bible says that what you truly believe in your heart, you will receive or become (however you want to translate it). ...as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..... Tom I believe that you saw his suffering in your hour of need.

Okay, I know this is going to sound strange, I am not sure I have ever read a topic regarding this subject and TWI doctrine on this forum. On the healing thread we have been talking about a car accident during Way Marketing in 1976. After the car accident, and Tom, I don't know if you know this or not, but it was somehow decided by top leadership that the adversary had somehow infiltrated our ranks and there was a spiritual reason that this accident occurred. Supposedly there was a guy in the marketing department or the follow-up group who had some serious spiritual problems. You would know him, his name wa A**en I believe or A*. Do you remember him, he was quite an odd ball and did very strange things. Anyways, JJ and H**f decided that he was either "entertaining" some spirits or was possessed and perhaps the accident was a direct result of him and his little "friends" (or us having been exposed to them). Okay, I kid you not, the next thing I know they were talking about was an exorcism. Check this out, they actually decided to do this. And for some reason that I do not remember, I was going to be there. Okay now I am freaking. I had just taken the class in June of 1975, recruited to Way Marketing the very next month at the Rock In Sidney and this was October of 1976. The memories are somewhat choppy as I think back, but we were in this room, probably one of the bedrooms in one of the apartments that we rented in that one complex. Okay they started "exorcising" the demons and the guy started making all of these real gutteral sounds. The windows were open and someone outside was hearing this going on. They had him either strapped or held down and he was just screaming at the top of his lungs and saying very very devilish stuff, in that hollywood exorcist tone of voice. I think, if I recall correctly, the police even showed up because of the commotion. It was extremely frightening for me. That was the strangest year I have ever had in my whole life. I do not remember the whole outcome of the exorcism, I guess I was just too freaked or 30 years have gone by. But I will never forget the "devilish" voice this guy talked in. If anybody remembers being part of this, I would love for you to speak up.

I know, after being in for many years, and then hearing she was the new PREZ, I hadn't even heard of her. There has to be some reason that she was "exalted" to this "position of importance" (and I use the words "important position" with much humor). She knows something and probably had the BOT over a barrel with this information. I heard her own son won't fellowship with TWI - I thought there was something in the Word about having your own house in order before you run around telling other people to clean their houses (literally and figuratively).
