  1. Word Wolf can you give me some sources that show which of VPWs works where copied and from where?
  2. Can someone verify this for me http://www.religionnewsblog.com/23574/hebraic-roots-version if true The Way international suing people over rights over their name... Really I thought sueing one another was forbidden in scripture like in 1st Cor (I think) someone correct me if I am wrong. We I guess we are of the devil so it wouldn't apply... Am I correct on that? I still don't understand why they are sueing a bible translation.... Well they do have the "trut" I guess.

  5. Ha ha ha ha ha... Thanks Word Wolf for putting everything in perspective for me - nate
  6. I would agree... sexual assaults and the like.... I just see more and more they view that man as God... He can do no wrong.
  7. I was reading someone talk about Dr. VPW and I thought I would share his comment... Dr. W. wasn't the first of his kind and he won't be the last (contrary to what any wierwilleites say...) to go against the grain, but he's in good company. The apostles, Luther, Bullinger, and the countless others that aren't so famous are right there with him. (fun side not by the way, the majority of our constitutionalist founding fathers were NOT trinitarian) Putting VPW with the apostles is almost on the line of blasphemy... VPW did nothing like Luther What does the constitution and the writers have to do with anything about the validity of the trinity or any other Christian doctrine true or false? (this statement isn't about if the Trinity is true or not it is illogical conclusions from pieces of history that has nothing to do with validity of the doctrine.) Time and time again when reading such "truths" I seem to see someone bowing down before a God and become the religion that they so Viciously attack. I just had to vent.... Thank you for listening... Please give input if you agree Nate
  8. I always thought it odd that the Way International indulges in such behavior when their most esteemed book Ephesians says this Ephesians 5 3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. 4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. 5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for (S)at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), I just don't understand with such crude jokes or improper social Qs would be allowed when it is the hightened book explicitly says not too. For instance my wife described old men kissing the young girls on the lips as status Quo... YUK!
  9. Steve... I applaud your vigilance in your studies... I hope to join you one day. I am looking at a few Universities to get my Masters in Biblical Studies. I am learning greek on my own and enrolling in a Koine Greek class by a retired professor locally www.NTGreekGODEEP.com to get a head start.. I hope one day not to need a concordance. Not only to read the bible in its original but also apostolic fathers and be able to understand contemporary works of the day. That will happen one day God willing I can join you in further learning. I have found it extremely valuable to understand not only the definitions but also flow of grammatical structure of the language. It has also helped in my reading of JCNG and other works of VPW when he tries to explain any verse in the greek... Geisha Dr. Ravi Z. is one of my favorite apologists and is the start of my inspiration in apologetics years ago... It hurts my heart to see the manipulation that the Way has on their followers... To never read the greats like him or C.S. Lewis and viewing their work as of Satan as I get from the conversation and literature of describing Apologists like them very sorrowful. To never respect someone like Ravi is heart breaking even some of his opponents highly respect him for his intelligence, heart and wisdom... That is one of the key elements of someone thinking for themselves is that they can respect someone else's view and regard them valuable. I have tried to read all of the posts and try to make it short as I don't read extremely long posts well. In some ways I think it is an issue of literal vs figurative language. For example parables they are figurative but in conversations where propositional statements are used they are literal... I think it is common place to flip the two. Possibly to also ignore the main point of any sentence. In this way you can change the meaning of the text. Good to see everyone Nate
  10. Wouldn't God still be the cause even if the devil caused it? The way I look at it God is so powerful he could stop the devil from doing his little evil deeds... So it is no different than God doing it. I have heard that belief in other Christian circles that the Bishop said.... I go back and forth on it.... I guess I am still developing my own theology on it.
  11. Thanks WW..... I thought it did.... It just didn't come to my mind. FYI.... Not to get into the discussion.... I do believe God is good.
  12. I never heard of it..... nor do I agree with it. It is interpreting scripture through that view that God is good. This definition of Good is their definition not allowing it to come out of scripture. So I say the logic goes like this for them (I speaking for that view) When God did the plagues of egypt to killing of anania and safira (sorry for misspelling) to God wiping people off the face of the earth at the end of time. He said he did it in many times for himself for his own glory.... Even though it says it literally in context.... Since I believe God is good (to my definition) something else happened even though God explicitly repeatedly said He did it.... He didn't That just makes no since To my best of knowledge it never expressly says that God is good in scripture. Just searched it in the ESV. In any case it dose not change other statements... It does say that God is Love,Mercy,Just,Righteous,Holy,Judge Good can mean many things.... In John chapter 9 Jesus heals a blind man from birth... prior to the healing the apostles asked why this man was blind as they asked whose sin it was that caused it. Jesus replied “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him." (9:3) So Jesus said that this man was blind so that God may display a miracle.... Kinda mean if you ask me.. but He is God. Could it be possible that tragedies happen so God can work and show himself to us? Thats what happened to the blind man... I gave that answer to a man from a splinter group who was telling me God doesn't "cause" bad things to happen and after I shared that verse he got close to me and asked me do I really think that God would cause (or allow) someone to be blind most of his life to glorify Himself (God). I simply replied... That is what it says... To say someone held God back or something opposing to what Jesus is saying is to say Jesus is in error... statement is not true... ect..
  13. Twinky... Can you explain what that is..... I am curious. Never heard of it.
  14. Old school I think you summed everything up.... All you need to do is put sources and evidence and then we should publish it and send it to everyone in TWI...... Well I guess that would be fruitless as they won't "consider" other peoples opinions for the devil may lead you astray.
  15. I find that the ways concept of lowering Christ but also God strategically important to VPW.... Just follow me here a second. Reading the PFLA binders and listening to who God is to TWI. It seems they have brought God down to mans level... With VPW successfully bringing God down to a level where He can be totally conceivable as he laid out with his misquote of Isaiah describing God as not being able to be comprehended. It now gave VPW the position to step in Gods place or at least to usurp the position of Jesus. At least that is my look at the picture.
  16. Being in the AG and going through a Baptist college I understand that there have been some who have committed adultry..... abused pained killers and they have been removed from there positions. I don't know of any churches in my circles that have stopped because of it. What I find ironic of TWI is that in there effort to be "The Organic Church" they actually have become what they claimed to hate. They are the epitome of there own redefinition of religion. How they are blind to it is just aggravating sometimes lol.
  17. I am meaning point something in error or put a little word out there..... example "You know this guy here really isn't a doctor" something like that.... Or am I just wrong for thinking like that?
  18. I sometimes go over videos of VPW just for the silliness. Sometimes I may put something down that others may or may not know. Am I the only one?
  19. MLK to Gandhi and WW2 being on the wrong side...... wow this gets stranger and stranger.... I would love some hard proof for this stuff. Nate
  20. Wow this has become a diverse topic...... I don't really know where to join in....
  21. Concerning the angels I don't see anything in the text of superstition... There is nothing in the text suggesting adding irrational fear. It is just a record.... What facts do you have to present your theory that it was a superstition? For it to be added on is only an assumption especially since it happened every time for a long period of time as superstitions change. It makes more since that it happened exactly as it was recorded. This is not a 1611 definition of fear. I do see a huge significance in the uses of the words. Again when people were terrorized like before God or when Jesus compared fear of men and saying we must fear him and reiterating it. Every time the word phobos was used. I have yet to see a verse that uses descriptions of a calm non scary respect associated with the word Phobos. But the MAJORITY at least is used with real terrifying fear. It seems wrong to suggest the definition changes because the object of the fear changes. Especially when used with descriptive words confirming a terrifying fear in correspondence to God. I do believe there is a distinction between why someone is fearful between God and a ghost or a mean father. I still don't think you understand what I am communicating. This fear comes from not being punished at the base level. It is a realization of who God IS not what He can do. This is how Isaiah, Peter, John (After pentecost) responded to God or Jesus. If the disciple whom Jesus Loved fell down at his feat in terror near the end of his life why do I think I am going to react any better to Jesus? I must get going... I can't get into a lengthy post right now. Sorry for being absent I have been at a convention for the last 5 days and then the holidays.... Hope all has been well and everyone had a Merry Christmas!
  22. This was posted on my Facebook Newsfeed. I just find it Ironic and Funny.... http://www.archive.org/details/PrinciplesOfResearch I was wondering what you guys thought of it and possible good non-doctrinal responses you guys could give for me. Thanks Nate
  23. What a Great Story....... On the funny side... A Christmas double life.... ha ha ha ha.... So true So true
  24. I see they favor a Calvinistic theology.... I wonder if they give credit to where credit is due (To calvin and those who formed his theology forming the TULIP model)... Not to get off topic on that but why so much arrogance on the FB page.... Same stuff when talking from someone at TWI.... At least my hyper Calvin friends can admit to the complications of their theology. Don't really see humility that should follow a Christian on that FB page. (Not getting into the Calvin vs Amin debate trying to point out the similarities between the group and TWI). Sooooo tempted to start trouble on that page.... Then again would Christ approve of that?
  25. Thanks Waysider.... Is this from a splinter group??? I have a splinter group buddy a friend of mine apart of it. I see they start off with mantra of brain washing "Scrub Scrub" with the phrase "The Word of God is the WILL of God" as if they are they sole directors. Brain washing isn't hard just redefine terminology in way that makes everything come out as if THE LEADER is ALWAYS right. It is so easy... Splinter sell groups can pop up anywhere!
