Thanks for that information it is helpful... but am still not paying a surcharge over MSRP.
-
Your point is well taken but even so I'm not willing to pay a surcharge. I have another bone to pick with the dealers: they usually try to lowball you with the trade in. But trade-ins are good in the sense that the taxes are reduced (at least in NY) -- the trade in value is subtracted from the MSRP; whereas if you didn't trade in you'd pay taxes on the full MSRP. So if the dealer is offering $17000 for your trade-in, you would need to sell the vehicle for at least $18400 privately to make up for that in the tax savings.

Well only to keep my answer simple: they ain't getting a surcharge from me. I'd rather drive my existing than give them a surcharge. If you wanna talk about gold and silver, I'm game.. but that's another thread I suppose...
-
That may be, but they ain't getting mine !

Hi Folks, am in the process of visiting car dealerships and having difficulty because they all want $2000-3000 above MSRP! Its a real turnoff. Anyone know any dealers who don't have a surcharge?

Now that brings back some memories... Lived on Webb Avenue for many years, and had our fellowship there for many years which is walking distance to the school. Ah... those good old days, long long time ago.

Agree. Someone once said "if you can't defend it with an AR-15, don't buy it." Makes sense.
-
Agree. If you've got enough cash to buy land that's best. Also, cans of food as the preppers do.

It's up to the individual but for me, I believe the cost of silver and gold will be rising at some point so if I buy some now, it can be sold later and make a little profit. For that part to work you've got to know that you're buying low or know you're getting a good buying deal otherwise it doesn't make sense. Second, if the dollar crashes/ becomes worthless, the silver and gold will have value to either get the new cash value for it or barter for other goods/ commodities privately. If bartering I'd like to have the smallest denominations, dimes.

good idea...

A friendly discussion on buying gold and silver. Just purchased around $2K worth of silver: dimes, quarters, halfs. Have you purchased or are getting ready to? Thinking about it?

It's not much but better than nothing. Is it the same as here in the U.S. in that the pharmaceutical companies can't be sued and having a jury look at damages and compensation?
-
Know what will give me a little peace of mind? the ability to have the option to sue drug companies for damages: but these drug companies have immunity from liability in the event the shot causes some damages and death. As the story goes, in the mid-80's the U.S. govt. gave pharmaceutical companies liability protection against lawsuits because the drug companies lobbied and complained they were losing too much money on lawsuits and may go out of business. And now the govt. is on the verge of forcing the shots on kids so what happens if someone's kid get hurt in some way? According to this piece there's some recourse thru the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program but they haven't approved the covid-19 shot for this program: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/16/covid-vaccine-side-effects-compensation-lawsuit.html

I hope so too...

Only curious to see the numbers of a double-infected, unjabbed person, and//or the number of a single or double or triple jabbed person.
-
Only curious, nothing more.
-
Allan, you shared earlier that you got the disease, twice. I'd be interested in knowing what your antibody numerical value is.. have you considered taking the "quantitative" blood test? I would bet your value is higher than mine and I'm curious. Also curious how high a jabbed person's value is too... please consider getting the blood test and share the results... Thx...
-
My score on the "quantitative" covid-19 antibody test was 187. So now I can track it quarterly.
