  2. Hey there, Smokey75 I don't work for the CIA. I just happened to notice your birthday at the bottom of the page under your old handle.
  3. And if you do manage to get an interview, they ask you something crazy like, "Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?" At almost 60, you would think the answer would be obvious.
  4. I would have to say my stint in Fellow laborers was the turning point for me. I had been involved at the local level for about 3 years before that. The fantasy of reliving The Book of Acts unraveled slowly and systematically over the two year commitment.
  5. "diaper college" You're probably working on your PhD by now, no?
  6. The toughest person to forgive was myself. Yep. For years I felt guilty that I had let God down by "copping out" on the household. What a relief it was to finally come here and discover that what I really had done was dissociate myself from a cult.
  7. Mike You don't need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong. All you did was express your opinion based on what you knew. That's what we do here. We express opinions. That's something we couldn't do in The Way without some kind of fallout. Say whatever it is you feel you need to say. Some will agree with you. Some will disagree. As long as you follow the rules on the home page, your presence will be welcomed here. (Speaking only for myself, of course.) waysider
  8. Mike Regarding the plagiarism: You might want to do a search here for more info. It's a very deep and involved subject (He even stole Maggie Muggins, Johnny Jump-up and Snowball Pete) Sometimes people get angry and vent their feelings now because we were never allowed to express any emotions while we were in. Kind of a delayed reaction, ya know?

    A Poem

THE ROOM Reap the harvest once again Pile your treasures high Lock them in a barren room That reaches toward the sky Lock them in where they'll be safe From avaricious hands Taking care to hide the key In distant, foreign lands Journey there in secrecy Let no one see the chart Keep it in that dismal tomb You boldly call your heart In the tomb the chart is safe To while away the day Danger there does not exist For none can pass that way You'll return next harvest time To add more to the store Cries shall fill your empty room Cries---and nothing more

    Cat whispering

We have two that are from a family of cats living in the woods. They were just like yours when we got them. When we go away for a few days, I put down a really large dish of food. (We only feed them dry.) I don't normally water them from bowls. Instead, I fill a short 5 gallon bucket clear to the top with fresh water. It's the perfect height for them to walk up and drink without stooping down or reaching up. We have two litter boxes but I put down a third if we are away. Then, I make sure there is nothing valuable on tables that they can knock over. (That part takes about 2 seconds.) When we come home, they don't seem to even notice we've been gone. Been doing it that way for almost 12 years.
