  1. WG and Waysider, The sawed-off little sumb!+ch they used in our corps and others was Bi!! Mayz (alternate spelling) if I remember correctly. Cruel man...handpicked by vpw...to break, humiliate and control "his kids".

    Texas BBQ 2007

We're praying for your mom, Nika, and hoping all will be well and you'll get to come to the bbq. Ex10, how was the play?
  3. Happy belated b-day, Linda!
  4. "Mandu" for the male and "Trina" for the female, silly. :P

You nailed it Suda! Ex10, when we met at the bbq last year I felt so welcomed and comfortable in your home...as if I had known you guys for years. I was relieved it wasn't "Way perfection"! You guys are the real deal, so save a dust bunny for me!
  6. Dot, yes VP said Uncle Harry said that you can tell how clean a woman's cr0+ch is by how clean the top of her refrigerator is. Thing is, we heard that little gem in a group meeting sometime before we went in the corps. There are just so many directions you can go with this. What if said woman is on vacation? Does the maid's hygene ever come into question or is the vacationer still responsible? What about the homeless woman? She has no refrigerator! What if the lady of the house has teenaged daughters? Does this rule apply only to mom, or should a suspicious eye be turned on the kids who may or may not have done their chores? I mean, I've seen people store boxes of cereal on top of their fridges. Are we to take this to mean the lady of the house might have lucky charms in her "lady bidness"? Sheesh...you could do a five-minute stand-up routine naming breakfast cereals alone! Yes, Virginia, we were in a cult.

    Happy Birthday Tonto

My birthday started out with me waking up around 3am with what felt like a stomach virus. I would like to have called in sick but we had a full schedule, so off to work I went. As the day progressed I began to feel better and I had a few minutes to peek at greasespot. I want all you guys/ya'll to know it really brightened my day to see all of your greetings and "cards". Thank you, thank you, thank you all for all the warm wishes and cool pictures and cult birthday song. And Tommy, this will be our "secret rendevous" at the " 'cue".
  8. A belated happy birthday to you. Looks like you need a towell to clean up Psalmie's cake!
  9. Sorry I missed it, hope it was happy and hope to see you at the "Q".
  10. "Lift" a situation/person instead of "pray". Anything to distinguish ourselves from "ordinary" Christians who just didn't have the "greatness of the Word".

George, you're a saint... :) . Thanks for the kind words (shhhh...here's your $20...keep it on the QT). Tell the countess I'm looking forward to having a glass with her at the bbq. Dooj, I am askeered of Tom and his camera unless he brings his special "50lb of blubber- removal" lense. You, my dear, have nothing to worry about in that department.

    Life at College

Wow, to be 19 and not only know what you want to do with your life but to have the brains and the drive to do it...I'm amazed and impressed! Congrats to you and to your lovely daughter...what a wonderful opportunity. (A real opportunity...not a code word for "problem"). I would be proud and frightened. This is the kind of situation that would bring me to my knees in prayer.
  13. My oh my...looks like someone was having a sale on brown ultra-suede! Meow.

Well if you're in the southern middle, I guess technically we're in the west north-east. :) And, you scared me for a minute with this phrase:

DM, that's a fine looking banjo...where does it "live"? And Tommy, you guys in the eastern metroP are closer to ex10 'cause we're around 250 miles away. Jonny, how many miles would that be for you?
  16. Hope you don't mind Jim, but while you were sleeping your thought inspired me: A Thieving Weasel is Our WOG A BullDyke Still Prevailing She Helped Herself To All the Gold Her Sins and Greed Prevailing For Still This Ancient Ho Wants You To Give Her Mo Her Lust For Power Is Great And Armed With Cruel Hate On Earth Don-na's Her Equal
  17. TheHighWay, when we were Family 11 in Indiana I think someone taught us the Calypso roll-away, which inspired several different versions, with M. G a ^^ells' Hawaiian roll-away being the most popular. It started out slow to the tune of Aloha-Oi, with everyone standing and hula-ing: So roll a-way, so roll a-way Every burdon of my heart roll a-way-a So roll a-way, so roll a-way Every burdon of my heart roll away Then, the tempo and tune changed to a guttral oooga-oooga-oooha kind of thing when it gets to the next part about "every sin has to go", etc. There was also H. $tein's Jewish version where the words were changed to "every sin, it should go" and C. Wa !!er's Dylan version sung to the tune of "Lay Lady Lay". I loved this stuff. It made the drudgery of the corps program more tolerable and the kids seemed to love the sillyness of it.
  18. I didn't answer the poll in part because of the confusion over whether or not to count our combined income, and I also didn't answer just because. But Belle I think what you said describes a lot of folks...namely me and T-Bone. Shoot, we struggled financially the entire time we were in twi. Neither of us finished college because of twi and without a degree it's hard to get and keep a decent job, especially when you're a kool-aid gulper who feels compelled to attend every seminar, class, leader's meeting, whatever life-changing event hq-could-dream-up-to-part-us-from-our-hard-earned-cash! At the time we honestly believed that we would eventually work full-time for twi, so our incomplete education wasn't an issue financially. Of course, I also believed that the crustees (thank you Groucho) were being wise stewards of our 15+% before taxes. And that monkeys might fly out of my bu++. As soon as we left twi the finances improved, but it took a long time to get to the point where I didn't feel like there was a weight around our necks. With 20 years of hard work and the grace of God we're comfortable, but who knows where we could have been? You know, I don't know if any of you remember this, but I remember vp teaching that the people in pentecostal churches were usually poverty-stricken because they weren't handling the holy spirit field correctly. Anyone else remember that? Funny...it seems that the same can be said of twi's cash-strapped followers today. Except for the chosen few at the top of the dung pile, of course.
  19. Happy days to you always, and may you never get lost in the dryer of life.
  20. First of all, thank you to anotherDan a couple of pages back for posting the Dylan and J Taylor (yes I love him!) and the lovely young woman singing in the bathroom. Dot, I'm thinking maybe you misunderstood Dan and his response to me...I was trying to extend my hand to Oldies by requesting some Dylan tunes. Oldies didn't respond but Dan did. I hope you don't mind my telling this Dan, but T-Bone and Dan recently had a phone conversation and I spoke with Dan briefly...(Larry wasn't the subject...Larry never came up...imagine that :) ). I'm bringing this up because I don't believe Dan deserves to be lumped into the group you named and I'm "believing" maybe it was just a misunderstanding. I believe Dan is truly a good guy with a good heart. When I began this thread I did so on my own. I didn't intend to be anyone's spokesman, and the only person I had discussed any of this with was my husband (lest anyone claims this came about from some conspiracy against poor Larry). If I don't spend much time on my thread anymore it's not because I don't care about the subject and it's certainly not because I regret what I said, because I don't. Your mind is made up Abi. Fine. So is mine. I believe you're being played by a master manipulator.
  21. Do any of you guys know if members of the S m!+h family (a couple of them were lead staff) went with the offshoots?
