  1. A few things about the people who come to this site... There are different political views There are different spiritual views There is a variery different income levels There are people with many different types of Jobs There are people here who have honorably served and/or retired from the military There are Government workers here There are people who have seen and/or experienced various types of abuse from twi and it's "leadership" In some cases the only thing we might have in common is being associated with twi. We post in this forum based upon our experiences, exposure and life lessons learned while in twi and upon leaving twi. This place can be like a warning bouy for people thinking about joining twi and as a lighthouse for those who are trying to leave twi.
  2. Greetings and welcome to Greasespot. One important issue concerning your girlfriend and her "friends". From what you said, it sounds more like that her friends turned there backs on her more that she turned her back on them. Also, the questions must be asked, what kind of friends are they really?

    Lest we forget

Below is a link to pictures that cartoonists drew for Memorial Day. Some of these pictures are very powerful and my responce to some were emotional. http://www.cagle.com/news/MemorialDay09/3.asp As many of you know, I have retired from the Army Reserves and work on an Army installation. Memorial Day has a special significance to all who have worn the uniform of our Nations military. We must learn that there is a cost for things worth having. Many have paid that price with their lives and their limbs. The mere words of "Thank you" are not enough to those who have honorably served in the Military, and yet it is more than what is asked for by them. May God bless all that have served in the military and their families. Craig
  4. I think I still have my wow pin somewhere (not planning on looking for it). I remember the jacket, never got one. My wow year sucked. My "wow family" tolerated each other . After the year was over I only heard from one of my wow sisters when she wanted money because she was in the corps . If I found that old pin would I get rid of it.... Most likely not. It would serve as a reminder of a place I was at (figuratively and literally) that I never want to go back to. The funny thing is, I was tempted to throw it on the ground and stomp on it right after I received it. But I was a good little wafer back then Good, bad or indifferent, I am what I am because of all the decisions I made and experiences that I have had, and that includes twi. Currently, I am happy with myself , I have a decent job :) , and a never been twi girlfriend , a half brother that I just found out about 1 year ago that I am building a relationship with :) . We keep different things that represent different things in our lives. Most often our accomplishments and/or happy times, but sometimes we keep items that represent a time that could be a starting point in our lives. For example a wow pin. After my wow year, I joind the Army, and that was the start to where I am today.
  5. Zix!!!!!! Dude!!! It's good to see you again! Hope that life has been treating you well! Craig
  6. I think that there are two types of people in twi right now. The deceived and the deceiving. I also think that there are too many in each catagory.
  7. Hmmmm, At time the Politics and Tacs forum has been called un-civil. It appears that this thread and the previously mentioned thread seem to make the politics thread seem tame.

    Rocky, You are exactly right.
  9. * The approximately correct answer range for this question was defined as anything between 65% and 75%. Only 15% of respondents answered this question with the exactly correct answer of 70%.
  10. Sadly, I am not surprised. It seems that our education system have not enough emphsis on Math and the Sciences. I was fortunate to have good science teachers. I am still interested in geology and mechanics. And I make a living at crunching numbers for the government. Maybe I am wierd, but I like to watch the discovery channel

    Website love

About 3 years ago I met my current girlfriend on match.com. We have been dating since then . She has brought up the "M" word a few times Before we do that "M" thing, there are a few things that must be done first (this includes her getting out of debt and her dog being house broken) . Granted I know that I am far from perfect, before doing different things, you must think with your head (the one between your shoulders ) as well as your heart. The person that you love can make you misrable by some of the things that either they do or don't do. Also, can you say, "prenubtuial agreement"?

    Mexico

Just to add a couple of things... Active duty military stationed here in Arizona, have been ordered not to go to Mexico and Department of Defense civillians have been advised not to go down to Mexico.
  13. I got to know VF and the rest of his family between 89-93 (I was friends with his secretary at that time Georgia M. I used to visit her about once a month from FT. Devens, MA). I admit that I liked Vince and the rest of his family and enjoyed going to some of his functions. I also became friends with some of the other people that were associated with VF at that time. When I moved to AZ, I lost track of many of the things going on in NY (it was around this time that VF was changing doctrine that he was teaching). I am still friends with someone who is still associated with VF. For myself, I don't care much of what different twi people are doing (maybe a little curious). I have other, more pressing issues going on with my life right now.

    Sheriff Joe

Just to give a little more perspective... It is fair to say that Sheriff Joe's approach to different issues is, "over the top". On some of the issues, specifically illegal immigration, we have not seen an effective approach being implemented yet. Illegal immigration is still a very big problem down here in Southern Arizona. Among other things, illegal immigrants contribute to public safety hazards down here. http://www.svherald.com/articles/2009/03/0...2c267588253.txt (this article is not an isolated report, just the most recent. A couple years ago were convicted in the deaths of the parents of my supervisor at work). If the Federal Government would do a better job of enforcing illegal immigration laws and Arizona would do a better job of enforcing the laws concerning the hiring of illegal immigrants, then we would not be giving a "soap box" and a blowhorn to Sheriff Joe.

    Sheriff Joe

If there were anybody here that could come close to challange Rocky concerning what is going on in Arizona, it would be someone else from Arizona. As someone else from Arizona (Southern Arizona, about 200 miles south of Rocky), Rocky has been right on point on this thread.
  16. I was a wow in Bossier City, LA. That was the worst year of my life on many different levels. The rules were stupid!!! What idiot came up with only working part time? At best, I learned to tolerate my "wow brother" <_< We did not even try to keep in touch after the year ended. The last time I received a letter from one of my "wow family" is when I was stationed in Germany and she ("family coordinator") wanted money because she was in the wc. Who decided who would be stuck with whom for a year To be fair, I did learn a few things such as: 1. How not to treat people. in short, do the opposit of how I and others were treated. 2. It sucks not have any money, a car and living with people you would rather not be with. I could go on but I don't want to bore you guys...
  17. My Aunt works for UPS and she told me about how UPS handles breaks and lunches. They log in and out of there computer terminals for lunches and breaks. The "clock" starts and ends for lunches and breaks from their work stations. At UPS there is a very strict on time limits and people do get fired for taking long lunches, breaks and coming in late. During the breaks and lunches is when they can take there smoke and use the restroom.
  18. I agree with Mark said about employment. I work for the Federal Government, Dept of the Army to be specific. I enjoy working for the Government. It is hard and demanding work. I have found that what a Drill Sargent told me back in '79 is still true: There are 3 ways of doing things, the right way, the wrong way and the Army way. I am sure that saying applies to all Federal jobs. If you are looking for a job working for the Military, do a search for the military installations in your area, go to there web site, look for a link to there civillian personell office. Here is one of my area: http://www.cpol.army.mil/
  19. Hopefull, What part of Arizona? There are some cities that cater to people who are... err... close or at retirement age and hire these people. If you decide to move, not only do you need to look at job prospects, you will need to look at the climate. You are in my prayers.
  20. Things down here aren't too bad. In the early morning we are in the low 30's, but by the afternoon we are in the high 60's to low to mid 70's. I Love Arizona in the winter time
  21. The first thing you need to figure out is what you are good at, and what you are not good at. (The ugly truth is, you might want to be a supervisor/manager (for example), but if you are not good at it, you are setting yourself up for failure. (please note: I did not say anything about qualifications. You might have the qualifications, and still not be good at something). Figure out where you work best. We might all want to "work from home", but that might be the place where you might be the least productive. Many people are more productive when they have to be at a certain location and/or enviroment to work productively. I admit that I am very fortunate. I am a budget analyst for the Army. I like what I do, and I am good at it. I worked my way up from the bottom of the tottem pole to where I am now. Based upon my pay grade and years of experience, I am qualified to be a supervisor. However, I know I would not be good at supervising (seen the job and don't want it, even for a pay raise). Sometimes to find a job, it's all about "who you know". This is where it pays off to belong to a gym, be active in a church, go to and/or play or go to sporting events, help coach a "little league" team, etc... In short, you need to be where people who can influence hireing decisions go to when they are not working. Sometimes it all boils down to this. Working at a job you hate, usually pays better than not working.
  22. Just to add more fuel to the fire Next time you pick up a ball to play a sport or put on athletic clothing, think about who manufactured the clothing, ball or equipment. Currently, many of our sporting goods are made overseas. There are very few companies here in America that still make athletic equipment.

    LCM Today

I would also like to hear an arguement on anyway that lcm has been mis-treated. Actually, if I thought about it, i would be angry at how lcm was/is being treated treated. I think he should be serving time in prison for the things that he has done. I do believe he will be held accountable to God for the terrible things he did in His name.

    What if...

The best revenge you can do to somebody that has wronged you is... Be happier than that person. Be more successfull than that person. Not giving that person the satisfaction of knowing that you may have cared what that person said or thought.
  25. I remember the MacKay's. I helped them move from the house in Leominster when they decided to stay with lcm and twi. (I was living there at the time also). That was the last I saw of them. I was at Devens 2 times. 83-86 and 89-93.
