wow!

what type of fish is it? is it salt of fresh?

C'mon Bozz, what kind is he, and where didja catch him? What didja catch him on? It is so huge it almost makes me wonder if it is trick photography. It looks like a large mouthed bass, but, the coloration isn't right. And so Bozz, give us the story! :)

Is that a big carp? Your fish I mean ... did you shoot him with a cross bow? Were you underwater, or on the boat?

White amur= Asian Grass Carp

http://us.geocities.com/scosmo451/grass_carp.htm

but it is a really big one! umm only recipe I know for carp is:

Pin carp to a heavily buttered pine board

(do not use margarine, real butter is important)

Salt and pepper heavily

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Bake fish on board for 95 minutes.

Halfway through the cook time, salt and pepper again.

Sprinkle thyme or sage to taste.

after the above cook time, remove from oven

remove fish from pine board

.....

.....

.....

discard fish, eat pine board.

Actually I just got those pics from google. My biggest catch was smaller than yours, and I have never tried a bow, looks like fun.

My best fish story is in numbers ... the trout were in Lake Ponchartrain and one night my friend calls and says to get out there (3 blocks away) With the street light, you could see the trout hitting the bait fish right along the sea wall. We got another fishing bud out there and we were hooking a nice trout with almost every cast for awhile. Ted pulled in like 5 in a row and we just glanced at each other like :o , and then started laughing. I think we got like 50 nice specks (speckled trout) in maybe 20 minutes. The coolest part was being able to see the trout dart up through the schools of bait fish ... (I think we called them shiners). Artificial bait ... they were hitting at anything.

I'm by the muddy Mississippi now, I need to get a boat.

"discard fish, eat pine board." LOL ... funny Hap ... white amur sounds much tastier than carp. Although those small gold carp can be swallowed with a beer and used to be a popular delicacy.

Thanks again..........funny thing is the White Amurs are not really a carp at all........believe it or not.........and get this...........they come from the minnow family........lol.......the are really a large grass eating minnow.........unreal huh ?!?! And yeah Amurs can be tasty.......they have very white meat.........smaller ones are better.......but I wouldn't eat this one........the river he came from is full of PCB's ..........I would be glowing in a week.
