  1. Dear Believing Household of The Way: God bless you exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think, in the name of that name above all names, our living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Way International, it's my privilege to announce the theme for 2016-2017 ministry year. During the coming year, our focus, our passion, our heart, as we go to fellowship, and live the word in our personal heart life, and expand with the Word in our prevailing sphere of influence will be...are you ready? Overcoming the World by Your Believing! Isn't that a wonderful blessing? Would you like to see the new theme poster? Let me tell you, it's a blessing. Our Children’s Fellowships have contributed the drawings depicting our theme. Aren't our kids great artists? If you're wondering how they were able to keep our theme top secret until anniversary, you might be forgetting about wooden spoons. But these posters will be a prevailing blessing, reminding you to believe, standing faithful and steadfast in the apostles doctrine and fellowship and breaking of bread from house to house and speaking in tongues much to bring the promises of God's Word to pass in this crooked and perverse world. Buy one for each room of your house, now in four languages - English, Spanish, French and now a fourth poster, we're not sure but it's either a tongue of men or angels. Lo Shanda, that's a good poster! There are of course also smaller versions of the poster for your car and cubicle at work, and you can get these same children's drawings on postcards and stationary perfect for sending bless notes, as well as “thank you” notes to our wonderful Board of Directors for their prevailing stand in the household overcoming the world by their *tupos* believing example. Standing faithfully in the Household of The Way (unlike some people) and pressing towards the mark like the Athletes of the Spirit (the good ones, without the fringe) in the competition of life overcoming and prevailing in this world with you, The Way (Can't use real name, because The Internet) P.S. Just kidding, it’s me, Rico. P.P.S. Follow us on Twitter!

  2. Link to Fox9 story with video in case embedding the video doesn't work. Couldn't get the video embedded. The lede paragraph in the Fox9 story: Cult leader Victor Barnard pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges on Tuesday in Pine County, Minnesota. Barnard will spend 30 years in prison. Barnard pleaded guilty to two of 52 counts and agreed to upward departure. Upward departure is a new term to me. Apparently, it refers to exceeding the sentencing guidelines. Clearly, he knew they had him dead to rights.

  3. T-Bone had a good response, basically, if I had a question about the REV, then post it on the doctrinal forum, which I have done. My question here was about the REV in general (thought there might be some new folks outside the ol'e guard). Still, the attack is against those involved with the REV and not the stuff in the REV itself; in essence, in my ignorant sort of logic I would interpret that as meaning the ol'e guard here has not found anything incorrect in the REV or never took the time to read it. Hey, I'm O.K. with all that, to include the insults: does not take much to touch a nerve around this place.

  4. With *The Law of Believing* as the focal point, what could possibly go wrong?

  5. This organization that calls itself The Way has no intrinsic value. It's not a grand effort to please God or work for the betterment of mankind or however else you want to spin it so it sounds noble. It's simply a religious cult, like thousands and thousands of similar organizations. We like to THINK it's special because it helps us to rationalize all the wasted time, effort and resources we devoted to it. But, in the grand scheme of things, it matters very little who takes over the reigns if the horse is already dead. For that matter, there probably was never any horse to begin with.

  6. God bless you. Here's some things you may want to know. 1) This messageboard has Christians of a variety of beliefs, as well as non-Christians and atheists, Almost all will agree that getting someone out of twi is something they'd like to help if possible-or at least agree with. If you can only relate to Christians with your exact self-same beliefs, you won't empathize with us much. I suspect you can at least get useful information from those of us you'd be comfortable labeling as errant Christians of one form or another, so I'll offer what advice and information I can. 2) Last we heard, twi has an employee read all the posts here, so assume they're reading this thread and trying to figure out who and what. Some of us (like me) will be willing to communicate with you by private messages here (pm's) in order to keep "the WayGB" (our nickname for their thought police) from reading everything. 3) Lots of people reported that they were recommended to cut all ties with all family who didn't join-and only contact them to invite them to events or try to get them to pay for things. (No, I'm not making that up. They recommend no savings for college/a house/retirement, and suggest begging "unbeliever" family members for money for college as well as discouraging college.) When many of us woke up, having cut all ties with our family and friends made it harder to leave twi, so keeping avenues of communication open-and pathos- will assist when she decides to exit. A lot of this was harder before the internet, but lines of communication can remain open so long as she doesn't live "on-grounds" at their headquarters, where communication is crippled AND monitored. So, yes, stay in touch and consistent that you can be contacted no matter what. (Remember the "Prodigal Son"/"Forgiving Father" if you need a motivation,) 4) twi, like all thought-control groups, has its own little vocabulary, some of which changes over the decades. Some of it is documented here: I'd recommend lots of reading-up. We have lots of resources. I personally recommend some threads meant specifically for new arrivals. (I'm also partial to them because I started them-but I started them because I thought new arrivals could really, really use them. Besides the thread above, I recommend the "Wonderland" threads. "The Way-Living in Wonderland" took a look at twi's own promotional book, "The Way-Living in Love", with lots of commentary and corrections, and ended with attempts at a twi timeline. vpw/ victor paul wierwille was the man who founded twi. He chose his successor, lcm/loy craig martindale- as much for his willingness to follow commands to jump off a cliff as anything else. After lcm took over, he released his own book, "VP and Me." It contained a lot of details of vpw's life when the cameras were off-accidentally exposing some of the asinine things he's said. "VP and Me in Wonderland" discussed that book. I also separated out the vpw timeline as a separate thread for easy reading, in "A VPW HIstorical Timeline." I think you'll have even more questions after reading through those threads, but they'll be better questions. :) Ok, links to the other threads. Feel free to contact me by pm's with questions of every kind even vaguely related to twi.

  7. As you can tell, the forums are updated thanks to the tireless work by greasytech. We ran into more than a few problems, but he got it all solved! For the time being, the document section is unavailable. The software doesn't work as it is outdated. That will be the next project. I don't have an ETA. But will keep you updated.

  8. So, my wife and I have been checking out churches since we don't go to fellowship any more. This past Sunday, we were discussing where to go. Would we check out one that's close by the house, or would we drive into town to see my family at their church? We were sitting on the couch, still in our pajamas, and I said to my wife "To be honest, I really don't wanna go at all today." She said she didn't really want to either. We stayed home, relaxed, and had a great time. And you know what? I didn't feel bad about it one bit.

  9. Ok folks, home stretch time. I'm asking those who love and respect the work of Pawtucket and the community at Greasespot Cafe to contribute $400 over the next two weeks. The actual need is a little higher than that, but you've done a great job so far in responding to our plea for help, and I want you to know how very much it is appreciated. As it stands, GSC has been transferred to a new server (we're still on the old server during a transition time, but the work of transferring to a new server is complete). The next step is a software upgrade that should eliminate the occasional breakdowns we've endured over the past couple of years. And then there's the monthly maintenance fee on the server (plus some other, relatively minor expenses). What does this mean? In practical terms, when I originally asked for $2,500, it was way too much in terms of what Paw spends per year on this place. When I revised it downward to $1,500, it was a bit too little. So far you have contributed $1,100, so we're still $400 short of our revised goal, and anything that comes in over that will be appreciated (anything substantially over that will be applied to later upkeep of the site, so it all goes to the same effort. It just means next year we ask for $1,000 instead of $1,200, for example). Every little bit helps. We deeply appreciate those who have given so far, and encourage those who have not to please consider supporting this site. Regards, Raf

  10. *crinkles envelope with cash and shoves it into the horn-of-plenty in as noisy as possible a manner as it passes so that all those who have bowed their heads in prayer can hear that they may hear and will know that they know who gave of their abundance this day time and hour*
