Life is like a 'box of chockies' ..very good posts. Somethings it helps to 'just get over it', some things are better if we just 'cut our losses', and yet finding some things to remain thankful for, for me is a 'biggie'. Sometimes people are looking for more than just a " I'm so sorry for your predicament", they're looking for answers, some explanation....other times they're not. The apostle Paul said something about being all things for all men that he might by some means save some. Yeah...you're right, life sucks (even on a good day sometimes) !! Thank God for the blessed 'hope' that we are not of all men most miserable.

Hey Abi...if you're talking about me and Mo, I posted a couple of weeks back that I had proved my points with the LDS chuch and was desisting from REPLYING to her posts, so I hope you meant what you said in a 'past tense' way. If you weren't referring to me, I apologise. Referring to this thread, what Sogwap said offended so many of the ladies here at GS is only natural because women DO get more emotional about things, that's just the way they're wired. Hopefully Sogwap realised that. As Johnny Lingo pointed out awhile back also, there are 'little clicks' here at GS and a certain group think mentality, but then again, that's just the nature of people. The only thing you can really do is ban 'hate speech' !!

I agree....'hate' is a bit over the top. How about disagree strongly. Otherwise Jesus would have 'hated' religious leaders, slothful people, them who caused young ones to stumble, people with unbelief (or weak believing) etc.. In fact, by that definition Jesus would have been walking around FULL of hatred !

And we have an emerging part of our church too David that deals with handicapped folks. Crikey mate, we've had a lady who was paralyzed and in a wheelchair get up and start walking around the room after final session of a class. Another guy who was in a very bad car accident and had some major deliverance.Others in our church work with handicapped people and they don't pussyfoot around with them, mainly because the folks themselves don't want to be pussyfooted around. These people are actually more 'secure' with who they are than some GS'ers who post !! Now, I don't use words like 'retard' or such, neither do I feel compelled to use 'politically correct' garbage phrases either. And at the end of the day, these folks CANNOT help what their condition is, but 99% of the...shall we say...bfi challenged CAN.

I imagine yo'all refer to blind people as 'sight impaired'....brain damaged people as 'mentally challenged'...handicapped people as 'physically challenged' etc..etc.. If someone is happy being 'overweight', then why so sensitive about being 'referred to' as 'fat'. ? If I was a homosexual, then I take it for granted I'll be called a homo. Speaking of books, wasn't there one called 'through the eye of the storm' (or something similar) about a preachers life.? Seem to remember one part in the book he spoke about one of his sons who was messed up on drugs and was 'witnessed' to by some Way people. He went to the summer school at Ohio and learnt how to work and study.

I think the prophecy would still have been true whether Paul had gone or not. I often think about how at times we only see the bad results of not following our 'gut instinct' or 'inner man' or 'revelation'. The times we do listen, we often never get to see 'what could have happened'.

Interesting that the greek used in Matthew 27:46 for 'forsake' is egkataleipo. The word kataleipo in Romans 11:4 is translated 'reserved'. Most other places translated 'leave' or 'leave behind'.

Regarding the thread itself, what VP taught was true that " if Jesus had gone around saying he was God the religious leaders would have written him off as 'mad'...but...because he called himself the Son of God, THAT got their attention. I can't say the spirit of God arriving or departing on a man or woman is 'noticeable' as such; ask any 'born again' person. What would have been noticeable would have been the 'whole scenario' unfolding before peoples eyes.(wasn't Passion of the Christ awesome). I can't believe that Jesus in front of everyone gathered would have 'witnessed' of a God who deserts people in their greatest hour of need.

I was very interested in CES initially but then came to the conclusion (rightly or wrongly) that they were 'bending' to other 'movements' in the hope of attracting more adherents, (maybe a bit like the R.C.s' did). That's when we and a couple of other churches decided to 'align' with CFFM.
