  1. It is a great discussion and I wish I had more time to do more than just skim through it. Rachel, hopefully you do want to discuss and consider the possibilities rather than preach at us and expect everyone to simply agree with your viewpoint. :) Rachel, Actually God did not have those books removed from what some consider the entire collection of "His Holy Word" (your term) - MAN had them removed from what some use as their "Bible", but that is by no means an indication of what God intended as the end all and be all of "His Holy Word". Do you study any sources outside of your bible? Do you use word study concordances? Atlas, geography and biblical history resources? It might be wise to consider how that bible you so revere came to be and how it came to be in the form, content and translation that you have today. Limiting yourself to only Genesis-Revelation as found in your standard KJV limits God, doncha think? I'm just suggesting that you consider the possibility that you might be limiting God. Have you seen this show? "How can you say, "We are wise because we have the law of the LORD," when your teachers have twisted it so badly?" "How can you say, 'We are wise, And the law of the LORD is with us'? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made {it} into a lie." Jer 8:8 Sorry for your cold, Rachel. I hope you feel better soon.

    Deafening Roars

Mississippi State University vs. Alcorn State University Basketball in a packed house at "The Hump" I was somewhere in my pre-teen, early "tween" years and have never heard anything like it since. Alcorn fans were fired up and having an awesome season - the Dawgs were fired up and, also having an aweseome season. This has always been a good, clean, fun rivalry with Alcorn - completely unlike anything MSU/Ole Miss related. The Alcorn players came running out of the locker room and all of a sudden the entire coliseum began thundering and seemed to physically shake with "Who Dat? Who Dat? Who Dat say they beat the Braves? Who Dat?" It was the first time any of us MSU fans had heard anything like that, much less that loud. I'll never forget seeing all the "old farts" in shock, mouths gaping open, just watching and listening to these rabid fans. You could feel the .... tension, although that's not really the right word... it was just completely and utterly unexpected to hear such choreographed cheering, so loud and so early. The MSU students LOVED the cheer (and dance that went with it), so they would cheer right along with the Alcorn fans just cause it was fun and such a great cheer. They thundered "Who Dat" on and off throughout the whole game and it just got progressively louder as the game went on. I can not remember who won the game, but will never forget the surprise and then ringing in my ears for what seemed like days afterwards.
  3. Nandon, Did YOU ASK FOR DELIVERANCE? Did you tell them you'd like for them to heal you? If YOU did not ask for help, then, what I'd like to know is where these folks get off telling you that you need it? What this sounds like to me, is theophostics.... aka, just one more "momentus" type of "hot seat". If someone is looking for devil spirits/demons/wtf ever you want to call them - they most certainly will find them. Look at all the "homo spirits" we found in TWI when we started looking for them. <_< Ps 32:5 - I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. There is no need, nor requirement that we confess anything to other people. What goes on in your mind, heart, soul, body is between you and God - that's it.

That is a COOL link, Rhino! (Don't tell Sudo, though, he'll point out how many time Ole Miss is mentioned on the list ) You do have a point about the cold weather. USC would probably have a bit of trouble if they had to play in freezing weather as well, but isn't it much more fun to visit warm places? Mark, what can I say? I was born and raised to bleed Maroon & White - I probably spent more time at SEC sporting events than I did at home or at church growing up. I don't remember every game or play in every sport from twenty years ago like a lot of you men do, but I do love the games (and the parties ). I've also probably earned at least one more cuppa free java here for starting the most ignored threads in the sports booth.
  5. I'll be able to upgrade this?
  6. A co-worker here got a sweet BMW for a song off Ebay. Flew out to TX one week-end and drove it back. If you do your homework (www.carfax.com) and research on the buyer's reputation you can get a good deal. Ron, that guy is right around the corner from me and I'm sorry, but that car is fugly!
  7. Jim, glad y'all are all okay! My little brother's garage flooded, but none of it made it into the house, thank goodness.
  8. I'm gonna look him up, too, WG. Good on the A, ex! I still vividly remember one particular day shortly after starting life after college in "the real world", we were in a meeting trying to figure out something and it hit me - "This is algebra!" - I proclaimed, all excited cause 1) I recognized it 2) I now knew how to figure out the answer and 3) we really do use it in "real life". The more seasoned employees weren't nearly as thrilled as I was about my little "light bulb" moment, but it sure tickled me to pieces.

I gotta wonder, though, how much closer the game would have been if Ohio hadn't killed themselves with all those personal fouls. Extremely elementary, basic, low level skill mistakes. We still woulda won, but at least Ohio could have maintained some dignity. Many in the office have called the game boring - I disagree - I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the whole thing. I did let them know that the score would have been 38-17 if LSU hadn't let them have that last TD with under 2 minutes left in the game. But, then again, I watched every second of the MSU - UCF game, too. Hey, it's the SEC and you never know what could happen. Hopefully, though, this settles any question as to which is the tougher conference. I had to chuckle when the Big Ten basketball season commercials started rolling....
  10. HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS, STRANGE ONE!!! I HOPE IT'S ABSOLUTELY WONDERMOUS!! SNO CONES ARE ON THE HOUSE TODAY!!
  11. Johnny, I, too, hope he means what he says. Maybe now you'll post one of those stories you've been holding onto, knowing that now you can post without his usual snide comments?
  12. Yes, it would be really nice if folks could stay on topic. Ignoring the personal attack seems to be the best way to avoid denigrating what could have been a good discussion. It is quite possible to make a point and to contribute something of value to a conversation without stooping to the level of the attacker. So someone disagrees with a poster and personally insults them..... ignore the insult and, if there was nothing in the post about the actual topic at hand, then ignore the whole darn post. I don't see why that's so hard. I've said this before and I'll say it again..... the typical accuser's reputation is such that there is no need to defend yourself and, of course accusations will get worse because they are trying to get attention and a response. No one actually believes the accusations anyway. We're not stupid, we can see what's going on. :) No. They want to get a rise out of the person they are attacking. They have fun being a bully. They don't care what the message is - they don't care what the topic is. They are merely getting off on making someone upset and hurting their feelings. The best thing to do is to post whatever we want that is relevant to the topic at hand and ignore the peripheral b.s.
  13. Excellent observation, Twinky! It IS a personal journey and there is no "one size fits all" solution. We are constantly adjusting things in our lives to make things for us, personally, go smoother. The minutiae is insignificant - it's the end result that matters. How I have my kitchen organized may not be at all conducive to how you move around the kitchen. I could never be productive at work if my cube was organized like my co-workers. Why should our spiritual life be any different? TWI was too caught up in straining gnats to actually help people.

    The Truth

What I read, learned and saw at WayDale and then at Greasespot Cafe are the sole reasons for my exit from TWI. My exit from TWI is the reason for my divorce. After the first lawsuit was announced and the corresponding insistence that we stay away from the internet, I knew there had to be more to the story than we were hearing in TWI. I spent the first month reading every single word posted on WayDale. I hardly slept at all after discovering how putrid and purely evil the organization is. I was also extremely fearful - afraid of being possessed, of being 'found out', of having to face the sorry realization of the situation I found myself in. If it were not for the people posting at WayDale and GSpot, I seriously doubt if I would have left TWI - I certainly would not have left as soon as I did. Even then it was months before I had the courage to post and years after that to actually leave. (I didn't actually leave, but that's another story....) I credit the wonderful folks at WayDale and GSpot with my freedom from TWI. If it were not for them, I would not have heard about some of the books that helped me sort things out. I would not have sought out professional therapy. I would not have established the necessary connections, support and, most importantly, friendships needed to build my own self-esteem and ability to think for myself. What may seem trivial or insignificant to one person is actually a life line for someone else.
  15. :) Still praying, Raf. I was also wondering what the story was behind FWOTM.

Start some rumors, Tom and we'll see if we can live up to them. Regarding our BBQ..... it's the perfect animal! AND we do it right!
  17. I had never heard a Catholic joke until getting involved with TWI. That being said, yes, for as much as vee pee and craiggers ridiculed, joked about, despised the Catholic church and for as much hatred as they built toward that particular church - TWI is way more like them than they would ever like to admit. There were quite a few threads on WayDale about the similarities between the two. I've tried to find the ones here at the cafe (if there were any), but I believe we used the abbreviation RC and that's not enough letters for the search feature to find.

And, this is where john, if he has any shred of decency in him, would apologize clearly and plainly for his behavior, but, as history has so often shown, he will refuse to do so and will probably even attempt to justify his contemptuous behavior. Tex, thank you for sharing your story. I'm terribly sorry about your mother and your ankle. You'll find quite a few ladies here who have similar experiences to yours. It breaks my heart that there are so many, but I am so glad that Paw has provided this safe little cafe for us to gather and support each other.

Dear, Sweet, Man, despite all Mark's claims to the contrary - that would never happen! The SEC far exceeds any other conference. TheHighway, come on down! I'll show you some true southern hospitality. Maybe I should try to plan a GSpot gathering for Super Bulldog Week-end! It's a whole week-end of tailgating, pig roasting, bbq, baseball, football, basketball, track & field, soccer, tennis, etc.....
  20. Sorry I'm late!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BULWINKL! Love to see you here!

Well, Evan, my parents have choice season tickets / box seats to all the MSU events so consider yourself still having a standing invitation to come experience the SEC with the Dawgs. :) And, yes, Croom is wonderful! Of course, my preference is the BBQ in Left Field Lounge while we heckle the outfielders and watch Ron Polk's Diamond Dawgs dominate. Football is secondary to Baseball in this gal's heart of hearts. I don't like the BCS either and can not, for the life of me, figure out why on earth they made the match ups they did for so many games. I think they try to keep LSU from playing USC cause then it would shut them up and they could no longer claim USC is better than LSU. Geaux Tigers!!
