  1. Now Groucho... come on... what Richeson wanted? I don't think so. If you're not aware, there are some of the SAME links on the main (not forum) GSC page... And I know of one guy that had started a blog on his page (there) about how thankful he was/is for Wierwille and wishing for the "good ol' days." John R posted some comments to that blog indicating his disagreement with that perspective (without John having to say it in a nasty way), but the blogger deleted the comments. THAT was offensive. NO... John has wanted it to be open and diverse in perspectives/ideas within the range of who registers. So far, there are just over 600 members and there IS a wide range of thought, but few who praise Wierwille. Yes, there are some... who have links to their personal ministries... btw, NOT Michael Rood however. That would REALLY be bizarre... But the links are there because John wants to be tolerant, NOT because he wants to dictate allowable content on each member's personal page. And Groucho... IF you are (still) registered there, you WILL find that I have posted the YouTube video (on my page) that Dougie told us about on the thread about my birthday... it's a Neil Young song about impeaching Bush... it's political and it's funny... but one of the things I did to minimize discontent is limit viewing of it to those who are in my friends list... but NOT everyone on my list are liberals... all of this... FWIW.
  2. Well... I have access to the site and tried to view it. Apparently, it has now been deleted. And YES, there ARE some there who are unrepentant. But there are also some there who specifically post their views favoring apologizing to those who they have hurt. But for the site's intended purpose, reconnecting with old friends... it has fulfilled that mission, or purpose for some... And Evan... IF you know who had posted it and can find out where we can view it, I'd be interested in seeing it also. Thanks, Rocky

    Ex10's Birthday

Nothing wrong with being that old... a whole lot of us are so old there were only 48 states when we were born... now, if it said 47 or fewer, THAT would be old. btw, I left a b'day greeting for you on another website... on the correct day. :)
  4. I'd say "welcome to the club..." but it's not such an exclusive club. Those two adjectives are nearly synonymous (sp?). But we didn't know it when we were 19 (that was my age when I was first introduced to twi). And... WAYSIDER... I agree, excellent observations (as TomStrange said). Indeed, the churches I've seen since leaving twi (still, very few, but there nevertheless), had focused teen AND young adult ministries. We all go through those transitions... all of us.
  5. I didn't see the list, but that's what was reported to me, yes. And check post #4 of this thread... it describes their departure from Texas.
  6. I heard the other team is going to have an ample supply of TROJANS... perhaps because they expect to get sca-rewed on New Years' Day?
  7. Lisa Tracy (Emmaus) is married to Mike Tracy. Lisa is 9th corps, Mike is 7th. And Helen Suddeth was an earlier corps member and in groups like Joyful Noise, I think... from that same time frame. Though I don't know when that CD was recorded/released or when Ken and Helen took their exit from twi.
  8. I didn't see any replies to your query, Hooner. Yes, there was a David Walker. I don't know if he was an artist. He was in the 7th corps.
  9. btw, Highway... at that site, if a person doesn't like the comments someone leaves on their page (the first person's page), that page "owner" (for lack of a better word) does have the ability to delete said comments.
  10. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to grow them like that. Just put a box around each blossom to limit/define the parameters of growth. If the leaves get sunlight, that should make it workable for the fruit to develop in the box. And it seems like it WOULD make for more orderly storage and transport.
  11. THAT would be IT. tnks Dr. GSG! :) I have no idea why they would. But it appears to be something they just DO.
  12. No. How could you read that into what I said?
  13. I still don't really know why they split, but don't think it was because Ellie wanted to stay in twi and didn't. And, glad to be of assistance.
  14. Her father was J Fred Wilson. He passed away a couple of years ago... and I noted it in the In memoriam forum. The other brother's name is Jack. I shared a house with Fred the year after he and Ellie separated. And stayed in touch with him for several years after. I understand that Rachel went to college in Minnesota but don't know anything after that. However, it's likely that Ellie still lives in NK. JFred had been out of twi since '86 and I'm thinking the kids were also. I can't say about Ellie. My guess would be that Rachel's doing well. And if I wanted to be in touch with her, I'd try looking Ellie up in NK.
  15. btw, it's obvious, especially from the Lally's past practices, that their disappearance from the new site is of their OWN devices, NOT by any decision made or action taken by ANYone other than themselves.
  16. I looked for it there too... and it's gone... I had heard she had a heck of (political) reading list. Poof indeed!
  17. Thanks! btw... I've gotten Elaine Pagels' book from the library and started reading it... and also got Goleman's new one on Social Intelligence... both seem pretty good so far. :)
  18. Thanks Tommy and Cowgirl... it was a very nice day... and I feel better at 53 than I did most of the time when I was in my 40s! :)
  19. Thanks Dougie -- that was great!
  20. tnks Dougie... btw, I've been in touch on another web site with your old buddy Pam from Marshall HS... she's in Massachusetts now and doing well.
  21. Oh, I dunno... to me, it seemed like P-Mosh was just suggesting growing up in the situation during the hayday of Martindale's reign of terror would have given him lots more to write about... not that PMosh was minimizing the guy's actual experience.
  22. I know this is a tangent off of the topic (Burns' series on PBS)... but I just finished watching Flags of Our Fathers on HBO (in HD, btw)... I didn't find anything in this forum where anyone had seen or commented on that movie. Being a veteran (Vietnam era, but FAR from any combat action), I enjoyed the movie... and am almost ashamed to say I've never seen Saving Private Ryan or some of the other recent war movies. I thought Clint Eastwood did a real good job in 'Flags' to put the viewer on the beach with the Marines... anyone else see it?
  23. It was indeed! Thank you Eyes and Excie! to you and everyone else... the best part was when the kids I volunteer with called me to sing happy birthday on a speakerphone! That was really sweet! And today, it's RAINING! But THAT, here in the desert, is a VERY good thing.
  24. I figure that as long as I'm not pushing up daisies, it's not too late. tnks hiway! AND RonG
  25. Back at ya... whenever your birthday may be! :) btw, each year (this time it's 53) is a wonderful milestone and a significant accomplishment. And for each of you here, as well as for my life, I am most thankful.
