I like the song "a little more upbeat". Here's Lonesome River Band's version.

Please forgive Mike Hartgrove's (the fiddler) "dour" expression while playing.

He habitually has a "dip in his lip" which doesn't work too well while picking fiddle! biglaugh.gif

:eusa_clap:

Great Versions!

If we only could "read it in the original" . :wink2:

The Mississippi Sheiks were awarded a grammy in 2008, 78 years after writing and recording this song in 1930--

Good things always stand the test of time

A few years after it was originally recorded Robert Johnson from the same section of the Delta changed it into "Come On In My Kitchen" Which has been covered as much as Sittin On Top Of The World

Thes guys were in the Way? They were pretty good.

I was searching around with diff keywords and ran into this

Pressed Down, Shaken Together, and Running Over.

(Luke 6:38.)

aka "Pressed Down", aka PDSTRO, aka "PeDeSTRO."

There were a number of local or known bands that were in twi.

(Known across twi, anyway.) Some of the artists had music

careers after twi.

I may have posted this once before...

This song contains some of the greatest blues guitar solos ever recorded IMO.

Quick backstory: during some down time in the studio, the band started an impromptu jam. The producer, Tom Dowd, liked what he heard and surreptitiously turned on the tape recorder. This explains why the song "fades in".

So...one of the greatest recordings in rock history was done without a rehearsal, in one take, five-piece live.

I'm not a real big fan of the blues . . . but that was TIGHT! Good stuff.

As any musician/ picker can tell you - - when the mic is off and the tape isn't rolling,

it's easier to play without worrying about hitting the notes "right on" for a recording.

Those guys might've been "miffed" that they were recorded, but I bet they liked it when they heard it! spy.gif

Probably not, they were all out of their minds on heroin, cocaine and liquor.

Postscipt: Clapton was never the same guitarist when he got off herion. His best work was between 1965 (Yardbirds) and 1971 (Layla). That's one fan's opinion.
