Outfield, I agree. That was a biggie for me too.

I think Jesus would want us to hold fast to the good. TWI is no longer VPW's church and this verse is obviously talking about present day associations. VP founded twi, but he's been dead for 22 years. Under that same logic, a participant of the Roman Catholic church must disassociate himself because of bad popes. CLICK ME FOR INFORMATION ABOUT BAD POPES TWI and the offshoots are carrying on with a large part of PFAL and other teachings of VP. I don't see a problem with that... I see those groups as part of the body of Christ, and this is still the U.S. of America with freedom of religion as one of our beloved tenets.

My cyber character will hug anyone; it doesn't mind. :P

She didn't deserve it; Dr. Wierwille was still wrong regardless. However an old Chinese proverb comes into play here: FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU; FOOL ME TWICE, SHAME ON ME or, "Anyone who falls for the same deceit twice must accept responsibility for his own gullibility; thus, one should be more watchful the second time around." Originally a child's saying." From the "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996).

Thanks T-Bone. Yes, I have changed my position from years ago, and all without one-on-one, human contact! Anonymous internet cyber characters are powerful! :D

I was with Dr. and Mrs. Wierwille for a month, back in June of 1984 on a 6,000 mile motorcycle trip. This was about a year before his death. At that time, he had his glass eye; he seemed calm and serene, not having such evil power described here. Perhaps he was at a point in his life, closing in on his death, when he repented and asked God for forgiveness. I don't know. All I know is, this is the Victor Paul Wierwille I experienced and remember. I'm sorry some folks experienced a disgusting part of him.

That makes sense.
-
Is it possible he really thought that he could heal you from your childhood troubles? Is it possible he was making a sincere gesture? I think it is. Maybe I'm wrong.
-
I didn't say you did anything wrong. But I think you chose him because you loved him, and were willing to overlook his disgusting side. Love covers a multitude of sins.
-
Well when they found out why I was dismissed, which was about a day after arriving home, there was nothing much to do. If you knew what I did, you'd agree, there are no excuses, no blame, no finger pointing. I blew it.

Well that's pretty easy to answer. I really did receive great learning from PFAL and twig, my two WOW years, and thought that TWI was the best fellowship around. I was involved in some very good fellowships with some great people. Also, since my entire family was involved in twi, it was easy for me to hang out for years I suppose.

The way Excathedra describes the story, she wasn't in very long, before VPW exposes himself to her. Doesn't seem like she was chosen very carefully there. She wasn't in TWI long at all. Why didn't she just leave after witnessing that disgusting display? In fact, contrary to VPW choosing her, it appears SHE chose HIM!
-
Calm down Tom, my question was a legitimate one. So then when Dr. Wierwille exposed himself to Excathedra, she couldn't leave at that point because TWI was a mind controlling cult?

Mr. Hammeroni, apples and oranges, her situation and mine was totally different. I was dismissed from the 6 corps for doing bad stuff. The dismissal by Craig was justified, although at the time, I thought it was unfair. It wasn't. I shouldn't have been there.
-
Excathedra, after Dr. Wierwille exposed himself to you, why did you hang around The Way International and Dr. Wierwille for years and years after?
-
Me too Jean. For the first time in my life, the Bible made sense. :)

Another big thing I learned in PFAL was the greatness of Speaking in Tongues. I spoke in tongues around a month before first taking PFAL, and the experience was exhilarating. It was terrific experience that words can't describe. I asked God to fill me with the holy spirit, and I asked Jesus to be my Lord, and I believed God raised him from the dead. I stepped out on believing, and spoke in tongues. First one syllable, then two, then a whole bunch. Even today I speak in tongues, and it is an ever-present reminder to me of the inward presence of the holy spirit.

I hear ya. Heck, its even more than just comforting. During my "in and out" years in twi, knowing and believing that one truth helped me reason within myself that no matter whether I fellowshipped in twi or not, I was beloved of God, and blessed for all time.
-
One of the greatest things I learned in PFAL, was that I was born again, heaven bound and all hell can't stop me from going. Sealed with holy spirit. Born a new creature, in Christ. That God wouldn't (and in fact COULDN'T) disown me, because of my sins. That I will ALWAYS be His child. This is comforting.

Jonny please use larger fonts, I can't see. :) Should we write about the benefits of PFAL, or other stuff? And where the "h" is doreen?
-
Sorry Catcup, but the facts don't support you in this case.

Did Solomon repent of his sins?
-
And don't forget, some posters are accusing Dr. Wierwille of raping this girl "M". She freely goes back a second time and Wierwille gets accused of RAPE. Adultery yes. He was wrong. But please call it what it was.
-
I wouldn't call it worship, that is a false accusation; but am thankful for their efforts. I didn't realize Catcup that you are no longer are involved in CFF, personally. That may actually encourage more people to attend.
-
That's mighty Christian of you, Catcup. You and Sunesis make a great tag team. Am also wondering, if you really think, deep down, of CFF leaders and teachers as pigs and wusses for still respecting Wierwille and PFAL.
