On Sunday I got up early and did a few things before fellowship, This extra

quiet time with no kids was peacefull but gave me to much time think.

The one thing was how much I hate the way and going to fellowships.

I made a mental note to see what they were.

Please feel free to add yours.

The long drive with gas prices these days.

How the house is not kid friendly, little people need to feel comfortable to.

Way to many things to break. Tracking grass or dirt in the house you get dirty looks.

Same old people no new all saying the same things

Same old songs to sing

Same up coming events( forced witnessing)(monthly sts hook ups)

Same forced bless sharings

Same prayers, I swear to God I could tell you what each person will pray

Same things said over and over and over in manifestations

Being told what to teach

Same old sayings= we are the lights of the world,we are the only true hh. we have what people need,

the presant truth, i want to thank you father right now

way mag

outandabout,

Dead serious

We have the word and a great hh to bring people to we can fix their problams.

We are the only place where their needs can get met.

Guess they have not read Dontworrybehappys thread about counciling.

If you would like outandabout you can be my personal guest on Sunday

for fellowship. :evildenk::asdf:

That is if you have any needs.

Dear Copenhagen,

I certainly remember TWI fellowships that were just like the ones that you describe, STALE. The manifestations were milk-toast. The prayers were repetetive. The songs were the same ones over and over. etc etc.

I think that this is because TWI leadership so effectively snuffed out every believer that attempted to deal with the issues that really needed to be dealt with. And as control became more important than living, loving fellowships we became unable to deal with anything outside of the "stupid and flawed TWI box." Lukewarm and ready to be spit out of his mouth (ref. to laodicea from Revalation) seems to me to have become the norm. SIGH.........

oh man, i'm so sorry copenhagen

i started this post to you right after you started this thread, but i took a catnap in the middle of your first sharing !!!! lol what memories

i can't think of much worse except for maybe top floor wierwille (oh did we name buildings after men?) on a corps night listening to the great one teaching on the word "and" or was it "or" or "if"

and then after that, someone else had the devil spirit driven audacity to come and teach some more

and then i think there was an afterglow barf after that

oh, i'm going to back to sleep. maybe then my headache will go away :)

Oh man!

Copenhagen, it's your life and all that, but DAMN!

Were it me, I'd quit going to the insipid "fellowships" post haste. I'd inform the loving wife and kids that I simply didn't believe any of the tired old nonsense anymore and - OBVIOUSLY - neither does anyone else (the boring drone of monotoned blatherings being prima-facie evidence of that). So why don't we live life a little bit instead of forever analyzing susposed "principles" of it?

I'd then institute a "fellowship" of my own for Sunday mornings - Breakfast at Shoney's, a brief shopping spree at the local bait shop, and then a leisurely afternoon of fishing. Anyone who would care to come along is welcome.

Life is too short for that crap, REALLY!

This ain't a dress rehearsal. Get away from that life-sucking, inbred, pandering little cult as quick as you can. It can only get better. Honestly...

Scare the coorinator(s) by asking them questions based on ... the gospels! Like, what are they doing to help the poor in your area? Why aren't they having a good time in pubs, like JC did? How many of the "greater works than JC" have they done - this year, even? Hey, tell them some of the amazing stories of deliverance you have heard about, get them enthusiastic about God's great power, and then say the people were delivered - from being in TWI and - you heard it at the Cafe!!!

(Fight fire with fire.)

Watch yourself get fired for reading in the forbidden books that no longer apply to us :biglaugh:

See how many times they pray for the bot(bod),It is all about the way(twi pronounced twhy)

how many times they push abs, give us your money. If it is a father with his family, why is it only the top

get all the attention and money? All things common?Every need met?Where the heck is the power of god?

Why cannot I ask why?Why?If I ask,or have a need I am weak,Who determines that?

There are a few new people every now and then.

They never come back, if the do its usually 2-3 fellowships

and they are gone.

What I think is funny is one ast fellowship cord is a big computer geek

and all he talks about is things on the net.

I really think new people talk so much computer with him and go

home google the way and find the old cafe here.

.... there pants and never come back, its been several people who loved

fellowship and the people only to vanish and and never return a phone call

again

My wife knows how I feel to a certain degree and is waiting for me to

have trust and confidence in the leadership and the way again.

She thinks I will wake up one day.

Other family is clueless.

Do not want to give to many details WGB and all

You forgot "also".

Reminds me of a couple of 36 hour marathons getting that marked in my Bible.

My friend I have a reading list recommendation for you:

http://www.amazon.com/Boundaries-When-Take...3715&sr=8-1

It certainly won't cause the arguments that a more directed book purchase might. They even have a workbook model available for small groups, like a fellowship.

I really would love to see as an experiment what it would stir up if a TWI fellowship really started living and applying that stuff.

I remember dreading fellowship nights, but you are right that Sunday fellowships were the worst. I wanted to sleep in, eat breakfast at my patio table drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. For me, it got to the point that I wanted to start being true to myself. I didn't like it, so why go? I didn't have a husband to deal with when I left, so I understand it's harder for someone who is married and still wants to stay in.
