The In Memoriam forum is a place to say goodbye. That is all. Any discussions about the deceased belong in the Open Forum. We would rather have many threads regarding a death rather than start a discussion in the memorial section. The same goes for the Prayer Forum. Both of these are quiet forums. They aren't designed for debates and discussions, but for quiet and reflection.
I googled "peopslters" and found them to be a sub species of gremlin who's main interest in life is to clean out the residue left inside straws used by coke snorters. Peopslters children start out quite young cleaning bongs.

When you or someone else is being harassed. Definition: "to disturb persistently; torment; pester; persecute." At GreaseSpot, the operative word is persistently.
When you see vulgar and abusive language, unless you enjoy that type of thing. In which case, join into any of our colorful discussion in the Tacks forum. If it offends you, kindly alert GreaseSpot Cafe and we will assist you by altering your profile so you can no longer access that forum. What you don't read won't disturb you. However, the personal attacks there are not acceptable in any other forum.

The moderators are a cyber police force. We have night sticks, riot gear, and ammunition. Our job is to control the riff raff.
If you call on us, help us out by giving as much information in the alert as you can. Maybe you've been following the thread, but the moderator has not. Moderators are GS posters, and only have so much time, just like you. So when you send one of us to a six page thread, and the offense is on page 5 1/2, give us a summary. What is the nature of the dispute? Did an infraction really take place? By and to whom? Maybe by writing it out yourself you can judge whether this is something that really needs attention.
May I sugggest Paw re-words the banner at the top of the Tacks forum? It currently reads:
No threats.
No harassment.
No profanity.
Keep your fights indoors.
just the line "no threats of physical injury" would suffice, as harrassment and profanity are allowed. Perhaps keep the line "Keep your fights indoors", which I take to mean don't harass and intimidate outside of the Tacks forum?

One follows all the normal rules of GS. And named "light"
The other has been made for those that want duke it out and not have to "pull their punches" And not everyone has access to it due to it's harsh nature. We made it an exception to the rule. Over a year ago, I wanted to just close it down, but through some discussion I was convinced that adjusting a few things could be beneficial to all involved. And in the past year, it has worked successfully. I still believe that it is a successful forum.
We will be performing system updates to all of our shared servers, starting Monday night at 11:00 PM Pacific, May 23rd, running into Tuesday Morning, at 3:00 AM Pacific, May 24th. Please be advised that each server will have approximately one hour of downtime during this window.
We will be doing equipment maintenance and upgrades to your server da014, on 7/1/2005, at or around 1:00 AM Pacific. This maintenance will require a short system downtime, approximately one half hour, during which your eve will not be accessible. As this is not an eve update you should see no changes to your website or community.

It seems to me that anyone here was as likely to be abused by a branch leader now long removed from TWI as he was by someone on the BOT. If no one else will stick up for him, maybe the branch leader DESERVES to be lambasted. I'm not particularly fond of dishing dirt, anyway; but I see no reason to exclude "lower" TWI officials.
And I thought the purpose of modifying names was to goof up search engines, not really to disguise identities.

For those of us who don't know the contents of the servers
(me and all the posters),
can you tell us a little more of what we can reasonably expect during this
time?
Will it be maybe an hour totally affecting the board?
30 minutes? 12 hours?
Will it knock out posting only, or will we be unable to read threads as well?
Will the documents and editorials from the Main Page still be accessible?
Will it affect all forums at once, or roll thru them one-at-a-time
allowing us to hop thru the ones that arent being worked on right this second?
I'm certainly not complaining, I'd just like to know ahead of time and
possibly plan accordingly.

Basically during that time period the forum will be totally accessible for all but one hour.
During that one hour, you will not be able to access anything on the forums. You will most likely get a page cannot be found when trying.
But the chat room and the main sites documents WILL be available.
