I left because I could not be the leader they wanted me to be. It is not in my character to be confrontational, accusatory and vein popping mad. Besides after having seen the way my Corps sisters and brothers were treated by leadership, as well as my self, I could do no other. TWI was sinking fast and I abandoned ship with a flotation device under my dress. Now "I WEAR THE PANTS IN THE FAMILY!" :D-->

When you stand as Leadership comes barreling down the ailes to teach for 1 1/2 hrs., and regretfully stand again when they exit, after your feet have fallen asleep.AAArrg! When you used cloves as breath mints instead of tic-tacks. Because that is what leadership uses. When V.Ps clone, Donny Fugi@, teaches the bible and you wish you could teach like him. When you start smacking your lips at the end of a sentence or start saying leven instead of "eleven". When Drambuie becomes your drink if choice. When you have S.I.T for hours and your jaw is damn tired because you did it literally. When you play SNS tapes while you sleep believing that osmosis works. When you eat out dated twinkies, yesterdays smoked sausages and old pop-corn for dinner cause you can't afford food. You work at 7-11 and you beleive God has taken care all of your needs because you ABS this week.

When your therapist reads from a different vesion of the Bible and you have to translate it into the King James version (in your mind) to understand what she just read. [This really happened to me.] After 12yrs. of no contact with TWI, your sister pulls out of the attic the album "All ABOARD" and the picture of V.P on the back scares you senceless. You can resite the 12 sessions of the class without thinking about it.

Dear Papajohn, In responce to "why did you stay so long and why didn't you confront with the truth?" I did confront my Corps cordinator. I said," I did not see in the BiBle or in the life of Christ ministry abusive handleing of conflict. At the time POP was out and "rouge" research papers were popping up everywhere. The Corps who read and spoke candidly of these issues were heavily repromanded or dismissed from the Corps. I was told I was spiritually immature and did not see the scope of the word concernig these issues. "BULLSHIP" When I graduated the Corps, I asked my Area cordinator,"How the Bible can contradict itself concerning abortion?" He said if I had to ask a Question like that, then I should not be active Corps or in a leadership position. After that I never sought out TWI fellowship. I posed the questions in all honesty and was made to fell there was something wrong with me for asking. So this girl did ask questions and left. Some leave sooner, some leave later. You just never know what is in the heart of an individual, or why people do what they do. But praise God we'er here and are on the rebound and/or choosing to take a different journey.

Alice Walker is a well known psychiatrist of Germany back in the 80s and wrote this book in german first. The world got a hold of it and since has been translated in English. Her work in the feild of violence is renown. It's worth owning and is a keeper.

Laleo, Another well written peice. I can see from your perspective and it is "easy to be entreated".(James 3:17) However with some posters, using your anaogy... they have been very accusitory and have figuritivly stated, "You have diabeties because your a pig and have no self control". A stsement based on ignorance. When simply a pre-exisiting problem was the truth of the matter.(A predisposition for diabeties).Who would have guessed. I know that the cake was not in Oldies cook book. But because it wasn't in his cook book does not mean it was not in mine, when in fact it was. Dot...can I have your autograph? Well said, well put, well done. Reality is ... we are all victims of TWI, one way or another. Some more severe than others. Some have moved on, some have just started their journey of recovery and some, yes, will be stuck for years. Even Oldie is a victim. He is so incased in TWI reality that he is not aware or just does't care, how it will effect anothers. Shi@ happens and life is not fair but thank God there are loving folks out there that support and assist the process of healing. As it has been said..."You are a part of the problem or part of the solution." I believe 98% of the folks that post want to heal and move on. If a few get inspiried to be an avocate for the facts, let's not misread that as being stuck or unforgiving. Oldies I have said in a previous post that you are the most hurt person I have come across on this web site.. I hope that one Day you heal. But I do understand that the reality of all that has been said, is very disturbing and can cause emotional deress. If your belief system keeps you safe than I support you. Although I don't like the way you treat people.
